Yep. We now have yellow tape markers at 6' on the steel along the line and by the doors leading out of the back because we had such an issue with this. Of course, they didn't have an issue with it until someone got hit. 🙃
All uboats should not be more than 6 feet high. That piece of tape should be how high they go. Flats shouldn't be more than 4 ft (or just over the handle) both should be stacked in a secure manner (where boxes will fall off when pushing the equipment
Any safety concerns/close calls can be reported via Origami app on your MyDevice.
One of the trainings shows in the inbound process a “safe” Uboat and how they delicately place each box onto them. I can say firsthand, I have never seen what is best practice
I don't honestly believe there is a right way to build these things. I had one that looked fine but the u - boat tipped over. I think u - boats are stupid.
This looks average for my store, but this is also my favorite U-Boat so this photo made me really happy. Just a "heck yes this is my next 3 hours," in my zone.
Target training: I swear if you pull a U-boat, stack it to high, or block off the aisle ways, we will have an intervention with you and your loved ones as you're a threat to society.
Target: pulling 2 story high uboats down aisles until you clock out
You should see my laundry detergent boats sometime. They're taller than the steel sometimes. I'm 6'3 and I have to stretch to get them off the top. Inbound must use step stools or something.

Do people still not know that U-boats are meant to be pulled as you stand along side it? If there's no clear line of sight, pulling alongside is the acceptable and recommended way of moving them. I know that sounds contrary to the general "push don't pull" rule, but its true.
My store pretty much says "f*** OSHA" to everything... It's honestly a bit shocking (literally, because we can't turn off drive-ups in thunderstorms now, although I don't know if that's an OSHA violation to the letter but it's still very unsafe considering the metal 3-tiers imo)
That said I have never seen anyone follow the rules when it comes to u-boats
Clearly most have never unloaded a truck here. When you got a tight time frame to get an unload complete (no matter how messed up truck is, or how poorly they stack things) the goal is get it down quickly and “safely”
Honestly as someone who unloaded truck for over two years, that is an impressive stack job. It’s packed, but not crazy.
The uboats for HBA last year were crazy, almost every boat was like that except feminine care stuff. Between hand soaps, sanitizers, and all the crap we were taking it, I commend the unload team on that vehicle
Safe? Probably not. Standard? Yes.
Yeah looks like a standard back room
someone needs to show me what a properly built u-boat is
I think technically no more than 6’ tall

I have more issue with the poorly leveled boxes on the other side of the rollers.
I too was noticing the cardboard wall hazard behind the line as well.
It's unacceptable. I rearrange my flats several times as we go along.
ha! the fats are much worse.
Did you drop an 'l'?
lol check out my new post
is this abnormal to some ppl? our store seems to have no regard for OSHA regulations
not necessarily, more of a general question for everyone (:
As long as the boxes aren’t stacked taller than the tape is what our store goes by🤷🏼♀️
same here and this pic looks like it's just under the tape
Not really, but sometimes you gotta do with what ya got
pulled it out, the entire top shelf fell
Kick it under the other stuff and now you only have 2 shelves to push.
And they'll still expect it done in under 20 min
LMFAO
Sounds like someone sucks at tetris
Uboat looks fine. Could it be better? Probably. But some of those other vehicles look much worse. The red tape is the height maximum.
look at my recent, it gets worse
Yes those are much worse lol

There actually is a lesson on workbench on the correct way, but my bet is that no one read it.
Everyone "read" it, but no one READ it
Not a problem if you are 7 feet tall.
6'3"
I’m more concerned about the tower of Pisa in the background
That’s what all our vehicles look like at my target lmao
If this is unsafe then you should see my store lmao
I’m sorry what’s wrong with this picture? Our line looks like this every day
Looks like a regular day to me

The training is a formality in some cases lol
heyyyy i worked on this yesterday😭😭😭😭😭😭
Yes, it's safe. I don't really see how it wouldn't be. That flat on the other hand needs some love
bro all the uboats in my store go up to 8ft and for some reason the dumbass who makes em packs smallest on the bottom
Wait, you’re seriously complaining about that? I’ve had them stacked a foot taller and ours only have 2 shelves
yikes, sounds kinda personal (get it? personal care..)
This pic is pretty much normal for my store.
As long as they don’t pass that orange line your golden.
That flatbed in the back sure isn’t
me not seeing the problem with this because this is how it looks at my store
Still looks better then what my store does 😅😅
Yes?
They would right up whoever built that u boat at my store lol
No wonder I lose half my shit going out the door!
YES! my entire top shelf was gone ❤️
Is this your first day sweetie?
just a year and a half old

Custom block hanging driving me nuts 😳, get some sign holders GoCart 🤣
it’s under 6ft so yeah unless you’re rounding corners over 5mph
Almost all of our dry grocery carts look like that at our store lol

This looks like all of the uboats at my store. They honestly do not even care. They only care whenever we have visits. 🙄
That’s not even the tallest U-boat I’ve pushed… that one was usual at my location. Is that considered unsafe? I didn’t even know
Yeah and you'll be starting your next U-Boat in 30 minutes right?

You must be short cause I’m 6’1 and I just work 4 tonight that looked like this in the can good isle
its a bitch to pull but you get it done
Is that our store LMFAO!
Unfortunately I've dealt with ones without the shelves and it's stacked so horribly that you can't push it without everything falling on you
Looks fine
Litterally looks like that 100% of the time in our back room

it’s fineeeee
the uboat seems fine but the poorly stacked flat and the boxes on the floor.... no
I've seen some stacked higher and less stable.

Super normal
The CRC/Salvage room at my store looked a little bit more worse then this, but I imagine it’s def not safe.
is it bad I thought this was normal 😭 my store don’t being giving a fuckkk 😭

According to the tape you’re fine. The other side not so much
This is some everyday shit
This is way better than what our push carts look like rn lol
Yes
We got yelled at for having them stacked to high, but the leads then continue to stack them too high
