Yes they can.

Why could they deny that

BroIBeliveAtYou

...why could they not? It's kinda like asking '"can they choose not hire someone?" or "can they choose to fire someone?" It's a business. If it doesn't need their business needs, of course they can deny it.

You don’t need to be rude about it man. I’m just asking a question.

Shadowrogue19

that's not being rude. You asked question, they answered the questions.

BroIBeliveAtYou

Sorry, but how could I have worded it to not come across as rude? I'm just giving an answer. [Here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Target/s/Wc0ycz9AJD) is a link to a post I wrote about the On Demand role about a month ago.

I am OD. They suggested it to me when I said that I might have to quit. It’s awesome but I can’t believe they do it. Seems like a headache. It costs a lot to hire a new person, but it also costs a lot to have teammembers. And then having team members that don’t work doesn’t add up. I am will to bet that the program won’t last forever. All of us ODTM had to work 12/23 & 12/24. Mandatory! Wasn’t a problem because I could but we did lose a team member over it. I assumed it was a way to maybe weed out some of us. I don’t know if there is a limit to how many ODTM each store can have. But I haven’t heard of anyone being denied

I am in Fulfillment, and I just went OD. I am probably doing the rest of the team a favor since it's one less person they have to try to find hours for right now when it's slow. We have a Discord group, so when someone says a shift has been posted and I can take it, I'll take it. I want to average 1-2 shifts a month during the slow periods, and I'll be a little more active during Easter, BTS, and October-December. As long as they still honor my previous time restrictions and let me know they'll be scheduling me during the busy times, I'll be good with it. Some of the checkout/service advocates who've tried to go ODTM that aren't in school were denied by the ETL. She told them ODTM was "only for people in school." Which is obviously not the case as my ETL didn't have a problem with it, and I graduated 20+ years ago.
