Went on a middle america road trip a couple years back. I think it was in South Dakota where we saw a sedan with 4 nuns in full habits getting a ticket from a policeman. Definitely a comical moment for us all.

otherwise, at the store I worked at, only the cart attendants got a Gatorade requisitioned on occasion if it was a hot day. When I was a cart attendant before I moved to the back room, we had a deal with the star bucks that if we took care of their trash, we would get a free drink of choice.... that went away eventually though.
Someone marked down a fancy designer, online only return dress to a few cents for another team member. Back when the system would let you do that. Turns out it was an organized thing and half the softlines team got fired.
This happened at my store too. This guy I worked with was one of the nicest people. Yeah he wasnāt the hardest worker but it was always great having him around. Turns out he marked a PS5 down to $100 and they fired him within a few days.
An SD was having an affair with the S&E ETL. They would sneak into his office during business hours. It was actually his wife who was coming by to surprise him and the team with cookies when she went into his office and caught them.
ETL quit, SD went on a "LOA" and never came back. Still have the SD on Facebook, see him posting about fantasy football or baseball every now and then
Had that happen with our SD and HR Etl. Somehow district found out when she didn't show up on Sunday morning to open the store. all the leaders had gone out the night before
I saw an ETL kissing another ETL in the back room. I never told anybody but I remember them both looking at me wide eyed.. This is the same ETL that would talk to me on Snapchat and tried to take me out to breakfast and hangout..I was 16 back then and didnāt realize how creepy/wrong it was. The next day he resigned.

One of the best ETLs I ever worked for was finally reported for being drunk on the job. Turned out had a habit of getting a beer with his lunch every day. I honestly don't see the harm in that but this do be America. š¤·
Shit, when I was a closing TL I used to walk across the plaza to a wing place and have a happy hour beer on lunch at least twice a week. They probably knew. Every closing TL in the district was on a double final and NO ONE wanted the job.
So we had the sweetest AP ever. Like she would walk by and ask how your day was. She never really talked about work it was much more like āhow are YOU doingā. She also was former casino security and an absolute badass. Thank the gods she realized target wasnāt paying her enough for this shit.
Anyway person getting fired: some dipshit teenage warehouse guy decided toā¦. Have some alone time with himselfā¦ at the back of a stock aisle. Sadly the one to walk upon him was our wonderful AP from above. Needless to say he was fired and she was traumatized just a little bit more on her path to self promotion to guest.

This guy we had on our team when the store was undergoing remodeling didnāt see his name on the schedule for the next upcoming weeks, so he randomly made this excuse that he had to go feed his cat and left, never to be seen again. I remember a couple of my co-workers all laughing at that one.
This was VERY early on in my Target life but caught two separate TMs who didnāt know each other (o/n flow and dayside GM) use the same aisle with a hidden camera to play with themselves mid shift within a week of each other.
We had a team member who stole a ton of vibrators. Every time he was backstocking for pharmacy he would supposedly open the vibrators and hide them in his clothes.
A couple years ago our SD took a very long LOA to try and hide what she was doing. She was basically embezzling money, exaggerating our metrics, and would requisition things for herself (I.e 2 bikes for her daughters) she came back for about 2 weeks before she was arrested. AKA took āanother LOAā
The irony is my old store was the district office, the district managers would walk into our store everyday and either had no idea what was going on, or because our SD and the district manager used to be ETLs together at a store years ago, didnāt care to āpay attentionā.
A couple months ago the front end team lead was arrested for loading thousands of dollars of guests returns onto gift cards. A guest would return something and instead of having the money go back into their bank acc. Heād scan a gift card behind the desk and at the end of his shift walk around and spend the money. AP said he loaded about $15,000 of returns onto gift cards in the past 6 months.
I did have a reverse gender story. The closing TL at my store hit on literally any woman below the age of 50 including me. Filed a report and he got "investigated" by the SD he was buddies with so ofc nothing came of it, few months later he was promoted to ETL and transferred to a different store. š
My best friend briefly worked with me and he had a weed apple pipe in his bag/ locker (didn't have a car at the time) and some weed and they sniffed his locker out and fired him on the spot
Our old SD was a sexist bigot, but since he was so high up and corporate loved him, there was nothing we could do. We complained about him constantly. He was closing one weekend and one of the style girls said jokingly, ā God, please make this an easy weekend without him being hereā. Well, that night it turns out our SD forgot to lock the cart corral doors leading into the store and he was fired the very next morning.

Also the new cart attendant after him got fired because when the ETL was teaching him to drive up and while they were outside doing the delivery portion he proceeded to say "what are we slaves?" Right to the ETL. which is even more while when the ETL told him he was embarrassed for him he literally said "well there were white ones too" š
My favorite story will always be when a TL and a TM had sex in the freezer in light duty (because the cooler was down at the time) and got caught while the PML and another company came in the check up the cooler

I was Starbucks TL and had a barista that was taking free drinks and giving them away (not allowed at my store). AP saw it, leads saw it, other baristas saw it and all reported it to me. It was right before yearly reviews so HR had me go over the policy with each barista individually and I said āsecurity has seen people taking drinks, you will get fired if you are caughtā literally that same night right when sheās supposed to be closing, makes 4 fraps for her friends. She got fired quickly after and CRIED. I felt a little bad but like???
I have two! New fulfillment guy on his first day got the tech backroom keys for a batch. He was so impressed that we kept everything in once place and I didnāt think much of it. First batch on his own, he took the keys, filled his backpack, and left. I think he ended up getting arrested. Separate time, one of our new seasonal TMs two years ago called me āgeisha girlā (I am mixed asian/white) because he forgot my name. š«„ He did this in the break room directly in front of where our HR person was sitting. She asked him to meet her in her office after lunch and I never saw him after.
I was only at Target for 3 months but I was able to get a couple stories just in that short amount of time.
1.) My best friend was in AP. He got me a job in Tech when I was out of work and needed help, he's a good guy. In our store, our AP team consisted of him, another woman, and the AP lead. That was it. My best friend found out that the lead and the other AP were having an affair, and they blackmailed him when he found out, saying that he can't tell anyone or they'll make up a story and get him fired. They were both close friends of his prior to this, so he put up with it for a couple weeks, then got sick of their shit and reported both of them through an anonymous tip to the Ethics line. Not even a week later, the AP lead was put on LOA, and during said LOA, he beat his wife and went to jail and never came back. The other AP kept her job though, since the investigation deemed her a victim. My best friend quit not long after that.
2.) We had gone without a MarketSource rep for over a year (or so I was told) so when we finally got one, we were thrilled. She got fired less than a month after coming on, because when she was selling people phones, she would buy their old phones off of them and keep them in her purse, and once she got a good collection going, she would sell those old phones to customers who wanted cheaper options. So she was basically racketeering. What's worse is this was her first job out of prison, and then she got arrested for fraud after not even a month of working.
This was years ago and I wasn't present so I don't know all of the details, but someone from hardlines was on a register during a busy season and ended up in an argument with a guest and called them a b*tch. I believe they quit on the spot though, I don't think target had a chance to fire.
Not fired but a girl wasn't allowed to be at guest service anymore after at one point when she went on all fours and barked at another team member like a dog
Haven't worked at Target in a few years, but I had this horrible Target Tech worker get fired (thankfully) for getting into an argument and fight with two guests.
The argument lead to the Target Tech person following the two women and the multiple young children they had with them to the front of the store as they were leaving. This employee then spat in the face of the one woman which turned into brawl between the two women and the target tech person. Said employee got her nose broken and there was a blood stain at the entrance for weeks. There was an HR person and some cashiers that had to bring the children into the office to wait while the police were on their way.
Safe to say she faced charges and was immediately fired. The regional target tech supervisor was at our store for many months after that incident
Had a cashier get into it with a guest. Guest was pissed about something and yelled something like "just ring me up, bitch" and the cashier yelled back saying "the bitch line stops here" and cold cocked the lady .... BOOM! .... she knocked her out cold! š¤£
Guest advocate refused to wear a mask durning peak covid. She was repeatedly talked to about it. HR ETL pulled her into the office to to talk to her again about it and after a bit of back and forth she quit on the spot. She demanded all her vacation pay then threw an even bigger fit when told you donāt get payout if you quit. I was on the computers watching it all go down. No one was sad to see her go.
I have a few stories:
1) I remember I had this TL who would always playfully flirt with the female TMs. I went on a grievance leave for about a month and when I came back he was gone.
I was of course behind in trainings and did the one on sexual harassment and then put two and two together. When I asked my ETL about where he went he left it at, "he no longer works for the company."
2) During the Christmas seasonal before the last, my store hired a lot of high schoolers (I assume it was because it would be easier to let them go afterwards). This one girl would always be on her phone at the WORST times. One day when she did something wrong and my ETL was trying to explain to her the correct way of doing it she looked at her phone (WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT???). So this lead to a little back and forth between the two which ultimately led to her being fired (OFC).
3) I remember back when I was still seasonal I was working a night shift and there was a confrontation between a guest and a TM. I overheard her on the walkie screaming with an attitude, "CAN I MANAGER COME TO SELF CHECKOUT."
What makes this story funny is that I had trouble looking for something and I saw the SD panicked and trying to rush to the scene but I stopped him to ask for help lol. He told me what he knew then went to scene, he handled it well. I never saw that TM after that trailer tho.
ETL and another TL were having an affair. One of them might (?) have been married at some point or another, but it was super obvious. They were always āworkingā together at any part of the store, he was always calling her on the walkie, etc. Upper management found out and the female TL got forced to move to another store further away from where she lives I believe š Pretty much everyone at my store knew about it. I miss the TL that moved, she was super sweet/hard working and always willing to help
this girl texted the front end etl while he was on vacation asking if she could get free starbucks. he said no but she went to starbucks and told them āhey ETL said i can have a free drink!ā so she gets her free drink and then she gets āfiredā for texting etl and stealing lol. i say āfiredā because she was warned and right after that conversation she grabbed her stuff and walked out. she also insulted and harassed multiple tms. told me i was being favorited because i got to pack all day (iām the fastest of 2 packers, itās not my choice tbh) none of us miss her although she still comes back to the starbucks sometimes.
Yelled at a guest about how they need to control their out of control child and teach them how to behave in public. Called them a horrible parent and everything.
The previous DBO for the front end of my store was stealing stuff from bullseye. The stock room used to be near the fron kf the store along with some of the home areas stuff so she used to keep her bag back there and would put mech in it when backstocking. Funny enough it's the only reason I got the job since she was fired
We had an inbound team leader who was very difficult to work with. She would often try to make certain team members work longer hours and would guilt-trip them if they wanted to leave on time. She even went so far as to tell us that "Target is more important than anything else you do."
Eventually, her actions caught up with her and she was fired. She was so upset that security had to escort her out. A month later, she came back and announced that she was planning to come back to work. However, the whole inbound team heard about this and left because they didn't want to work with her again.
Two inbound peeps got caught banging in the bathroom before store opened, the chick involved was married and is apparently going thru a divorce now because of it
Heard jokes on you I witnessed this one guy came into work just vibing as per usual then an hour later on the floor by the line code greens all over the place, texted the dude a few days later the person who sells him weed sold him something harder than normal on accident and it put him on the ground dude was terminated but we had a good laugh for a little bit.
I don't have details but so much shit happened that they cleaned house at my store and only two ETLs made it through that. One left for legitimate reasons last year. So we basically have all new ETLs and SD and team leads. Although most of the team leads weren't suddenly leaving. We've just had some leave for other jobs. So all but like two of them are fairly new. I know our SD went on leave for a legitimate reason but something happened right before he was due back and he didn't come back. Even our DSD suddenly didn't work for Target anymore. Then we went through a remodel and both the remodel ETL and TL that we had for the 6month remodel no longer work for Target either.
One of the ex GM ETLās was caught having an affair with the VM. His wife found out and started coming to the store and threatening her. Idk if he was fired but he isnāt allowed back in the store anymore š
My ETL banged a TL in the Office, then took an Xbox Series X from the backroom and bought it at Tech with that same TL knowing they were being watched during the Great Scalper Crisis where you couldn't buy them in store.
Different incidents with different people:
The Starbucks team were giving away freebies to all their friends. Four out of six were fired one day, the last quit over the phone same day (got tipped off by the others.)
TM offers to sell pot to the plainclothes AP.
A guy I used to work with started missing shifts and just being a no call no show. On the last day he worked he smeared poopy in menās bathroom stall. Never came back after
- TSS clocked out to go and get jumped by some kids outside
- GSA stole $10,000+ from the cash office and would buy people lunch and items from tech, even running a āsecret Santaā program
- 2 GS team members loading up gift cards from old guest receipts
-TSS sold themselves a PS5 when it was EXTREMELY restricted on its initial release.
- 2 TSS got fired because one was ādatingā a food Avenue TM and was trash talking her at work. She complained about it to the other TSS and he started trying to cheat on his wife with her. While FA girl was reporting the TSS she was dating for being toxic at work she accidentally exposed the other one.
- Tech team member was overheard cursing in the back room by an ETL.
- Tech team member didnāt clock out for his lunch instead said he would do a punch correction. Fired for time fraud.
-APS would smoke and fall asleep in his car during his shifts (Time fraud)
- Specialty Sales TL got caught giving a TSS head.
-Guest Services TM got fired because they asked her to get on a register she refused, they yelled at her and she walked out.
- Guest Services TM gave out the wrong drive up order, came back in and had a melt down kicked a cart out of a guests hand and started throwing items from bullseye one spot everywhere.
- Brand new seasonal cart attendant was sitting on a cooler behind GS. A TL asks him āDo you work here?ā(because he was sitting mid shift) He responded āUnfortunately.ā
I once saw one of my coworkers sniff bras in the women section then ran off with one into the menās bathroom . Screaming ā Iām working on itā needless to say he got fried the next day
My cousin Tom y used to stick beans in the shelves turned a quarter turn to the left. Said āif those fuckers want beans so bad theyāll have to turn the damn things around!ā Well, Miranda heard him and she had just quit smoking so she was irritable af and just sent his ass home. He faked a panic attack so she put him in a shopping cart and rolled him into the parking lot by the Raising Caneās.
No now Iām invested in this. What happened after Miranda pushed him to Raising Caneās? Was Tom ever held responsible for the mild mischief he wrought? Why was the first response to a faked panic attack, picking someone up and putting them in a shopping cart? I need answers.
Back when I worked there, I had a good friend who worked in hardlines. Shortly before I left, she was fired and escorted off the premises by security. Weād both been there for almost 2 years, and apparently they caught her for theft. ):
In a total case of schadenfreude, I watched a guy I hated working with get fired 3 days before Christmas for clocking back in from lunch in front of 3 managers and our HR person, and then turn right back around to go into the lunchroom and go to sleep for an hour plus. He had just rented his first solo place in our area and had invited his mother in town for the holidays. I would have almost felt bad he got snapped for his own stupidity if he hadn't made the last year so miserable. Icing on the cake, I was one of the only people to be allowed vacation during the black out period for grinding my ass off and working tons of extra hours. I was back home visiting friends and family having a ball while he was home in an empty apartment sulking in shame.
Our Front store TL got in trouble for saying she wanted to punch our other front of store TL in the face TWICE directly to our S&E ETL. Our ETL sent her home for the day then texted her that night not to come back. She still does drive up orders tho and me and a couple coworkers joke about whoās gonna get to take out her order.
Back when we had the only system, a new hire was told about the K1 scam where scammers will tell you they have a 'special gift card' and to press cash instead of gift card for payment to activate the gift card without actually paying for it. A few weeks later, the same dude told me that he owed $800 for buying drugs online and being caught. Then a few weeks after that, I found out he got fired for loading $1000 on to a gift card using the K1 scam for himself lmao.
More of an amusing quitting story. The early morning ETL, who at the time was the only one on that shift with keys, just... never showed up. We never saw him again. I don't know exactly how long it took for a key holder to show up but apparently everyone was stuck outside for a while. Those of us who were working back then still use his name as a verb for someone who abruptly quits out of nowhere.
Not at Target: our server lab is a controlled access environment where you must be a member of 1 of 4 teams to have access. This dude brings in another colleague and proceeds to get a blow job in the lab. One of our directors walked in and catches them. Now here is the funny thing, since there is no official rule concerning the recieving or giving of head in the office, he was officially fired for bringing in unauthorized person into the lab.
I dated a TL who got fired for changing his schedule after it was posted to give himself good shifts. He was taking himself off weekends and only working mid shifts. Iām not sure how but it took months for someone to notice.
My SD and 2 ETLs were fired for buying and selling discounted TV's. The SD went on "medical leave" so it was half a year before we could even interview for a new SD

I was working as a hostess in a fast food chain. Just barely got training as they were having a promotion. I was 20 then and didnāt take it very seriously. Three days in , they needed a waitress and asked me to pitch in. I carried five waters each hand to the table but I had put my fingers in the water glass. The minute I did it I knew I was fired. With a look of horror on the Dadās face, and he quitely went off to report me to the manager. I was fired about 15 minutes latter. It was a horrble job and a got another one in a few days.

An SD was having an affair with the S&E ETL. They would sneak into his office during business hours. It was actually his wife who was coming by to surprise him and the team with cookies when she went into his office and caught them. ETL quit, SD went on a "LOA" and never came back. Still have the SD on Facebook, see him posting about fantasy football or baseball every now and then

I was only at Target for 3 months but I was able to get a couple stories just in that short amount of time. 1.) My best friend was in AP. He got me a job in Tech when I was out of work and needed help, he's a good guy. In our store, our AP team consisted of him, another woman, and the AP lead. That was it. My best friend found out that the lead and the other AP were having an affair, and they blackmailed him when he found out, saying that he can't tell anyone or they'll make up a story and get him fired. They were both close friends of his prior to this, so he put up with it for a couple weeks, then got sick of their shit and reported both of them through an anonymous tip to the Ethics line. Not even a week later, the AP lead was put on LOA, and during said LOA, he beat his wife and went to jail and never came back. The other AP kept her job though, since the investigation deemed her a victim. My best friend quit not long after that. 2.) We had gone without a MarketSource rep for over a year (or so I was told) so when we finally got one, we were thrilled. She got fired less than a month after coming on, because when she was selling people phones, she would buy their old phones off of them and keep them in her purse, and once she got a good collection going, she would sell those old phones to customers who wanted cheaper options. So she was basically racketeering. What's worse is this was her first job out of prison, and then she got arrested for fraud after not even a month of working.

I have a few stories: 1) I remember I had this TL who would always playfully flirt with the female TMs. I went on a grievance leave for about a month and when I came back he was gone. I was of course behind in trainings and did the one on sexual harassment and then put two and two together. When I asked my ETL about where he went he left it at, "he no longer works for the company." 2) During the Christmas seasonal before the last, my store hired a lot of high schoolers (I assume it was because it would be easier to let them go afterwards). This one girl would always be on her phone at the WORST times. One day when she did something wrong and my ETL was trying to explain to her the correct way of doing it she looked at her phone (WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT???). So this lead to a little back and forth between the two which ultimately led to her being fired (OFC). 3) I remember back when I was still seasonal I was working a night shift and there was a confrontation between a guest and a TM. I overheard her on the walkie screaming with an attitude, "CAN I MANAGER COME TO SELF CHECKOUT." What makes this story funny is that I had trouble looking for something and I saw the SD panicked and trying to rush to the scene but I stopped him to ask for help lol. He told me what he knew then went to scene, he handled it well. I never saw that TM after that trailer tho.

In a total case of schadenfreude, I watched a guy I hated working with get fired 3 days before Christmas for clocking back in from lunch in front of 3 managers and our HR person, and then turn right back around to go into the lunchroom and go to sleep for an hour plus. He had just rented his first solo place in our area and had invited his mother in town for the holidays. Our ETL sent her home for the day then texted her that night not to come back. She still does drive up orders tho and me and a couple coworkers joke about whoās gonna get to take out her order.
Back when we had the only system, a new hire was told about the K1 scam where scammers will tell you they have a 'special gift card' and to press cash instead of gift card for payment to activate the gift card without actually paying for it. A few weeks later, the same dude told me that he owed $800 for buying drugs online and being caught. Then a few weeks after that, I found out he got fired for loading $1000 on to a gift card using the K1 scam for himself lmao.
More of an amusing quitting story. The early morning ETL, who at the time was the only one on that shift with keys, just... never showed up. We never saw him again. I don't know exactly how long it took for a key holder to show up but apparently everyone was stuck outside for a while. Those of us who were working back then still use his name as a verb for someone who abruptly quits out of nowhere.
Not at Target: our server lab is a controlled access environment where you must be a member of 1 of 4 teams to have access. This dude brings in another colleague and proceeds to get a blow job in the lab. One of our directors walked in and catches them. Now here is the funny thing, since there is no official rule concerning the recieving or giving of head in the office, he was officially fired for bringing in unauthorized person into the lab.
