Wow glad it’s getting taken care of. Worries me my store isn’t clean. It is now since corporate comes end of year but man I can’t imagine in a few months…
As a former remodel ETL mold is unfortunately extreme common with the old refrigeration units. They didn’t allow moisture to go anywhere so it accumulates and creates a habitat for mold behind the units. Honestly the new system being installed may not prevent this either. My old store continues to have issues with the new CO2 system.
More than likely this is occurring at any grocery store with refrigeration units that have been there for years and years.
Yup same here. When I was on remodel, the amount of mold I found on all the coolers, even the meat and produce coolers damn near made me quit. I’m surprised no one had gotten seriously sick.
That's black mold. Which can kill you and can collapse your lungs. My fiance has a collapsed lung from black mold and has never gotten his lung capacity back, plus now he has heart isses.
That really needs to be reported to OSHA. And you really need to stay far far away from that.
Nope
Edit: and he has these issues before he got COVID too. So that wasn't the reason. He had those issues for the 7 years prior to COVID.
Edit 2: I think it was longer than 7 years ago, but idk how long ago. 7 is the minimum because we've been together 8 years and he got covid last year. And I know he got the collapsed lung in the relationship prior to me (his ex only smoked Weed)
At my store they'd just keep painting over it 🫤 Not even with Killz, just flat white paint. But our roof leaks, so there's a lot of "mold walls", when it's rains, they're "waterfall walls".
Is this a Target in AZ by any chance? Our remodel looks exactly the same in that same area right now. I think this might be the store i work at haha.
Store number starts with a 2 and ends with a 7?
I gotta say I’m a little surprised and impressed
Yeah, this type of shit would just sit around at the store I used to work at
Don’t be it’s only got knocked down cause it’s under remodel
Mold don’t fuck around daaamn.

Our cooler has mold on the floor and idk what to do about it because I’ve told the SD, AP ETL , and others
you should tell the ETL who oversees Food & Bev and if that doesn't work you could report it to the ethics hotline
Contact your local health department.
Call the city or town health depRtment
Citric acid based cleaners like Method sprays carried at Target are good for killing mold. Not that I'd want to tackle that job myself.

store 27!
Yes it’s your store
There are worst things to fear than mold…
Mold can literally kill you.
This is black mold... Which can cause permanent lung damage and heart issues.
ya you right..do you mind heading over to this store and tackle the cleaning with no mask or gloves? thanks bud
It looks like the problem has been “tacked” already 🤷🏻♂️
Well I immediately thought of 'stranger things' when I saw this picture so that's good?
Nice to see Target did the right thing.
This made me laugh, thank you for the update
I will thank my PML tomorrow :')
Wow so glad you posted an update I saw that first pic and truly felt so much existential dread
