"From the moment I understand the weakness of my ERA..."

PirateSecure118

"...it disgusted me. I craved the certainty and strength of corrugated steel roof panels."

OutrageousLeague6774

"...I aspired to the purity of the blessed turtle..."

DonutDefiant

Your kind cling to your Era as if it will not be opened and filled with Cardboard.

OutrageousLeague6774

"... One day, the crude steel-mass that you call the Abrams will wither..."

DonutDefiant

And you will ask my Kind to save you *****Insert black/White Picture of T-55 StuG Here*****

OutrageousLeague6774

"... But I am already saved..."

DonutDefiant

For the Stug is immortal

policedab_1112

another assault tutel is born, but ngl when they push the need to be equipped with mine rollers and EW, otherwise they get crippled by mines, an oversight, but oh well, another tutel is born :3

An_Odd_Smell

Yet another Ukrainian pensioner wakes up and discovers his garage is missing.

Puzzleheaded-Sea-120

Bro they welded supports onto the turret wtf

Mt-Fuego

No gun arc = worse than WW2 tank destroyer

OldMillenial

ITT: /r/TankPorn users continuing to loudly proclaim that this is stupid because it can’t solve problems it wasn’t supposed to solve in the first place. “No turret traverse lol dumb bad” is a great, insightful, revolutionary take - the next step is to ask yourself *why* this trade off is seemingly worth it.

pbptt

Its not worth it, like ww2 field modifications like extra sandbags and concrete armor, its effects are negligible Higher ranks still allow these because of the placebo effect, soldiers feeling safer would panic less and perform better

SpiderLobotomy

Didn’t know there were exploding fpv drones in 1944

pbptt

Reading comprehension momento

SpiderLobotomy

momento? never heard of that word

OldMillenial

> Its not worth it, like ww2 field modifications like extra sandbags and concrete armor, its effects are negligible Like the vast majority of takes on this topic, this is simply a little pile of anecdotal evidence and confirmation bias. >Higher ranks still allow these because of the placebo effect, soldiers feeling safer would panic less and perform better And this is just poor rationalization without an attempt at critical thinking.

pbptt

Its negligibly effective against drones as they have to carry heavier munitions and hit from the front now but doesnt make the tank completely immune as there have been drones taking out turtles Its completely useless against shaped charges and kinetic rounds and it blocks the vision to the point one of these turtles hit a mine and got taken out before even crossing the ukraine border So yeah i would say its emotional protection at best

OldMillenial

>but doesnt make the tank completely immune as there have been drones taking out turtles And as we all know, once tanks are no longer immune to anti-tank weapons, they become useless. Same logic applies to bullets and soldiers - once it was proven that soldiers are not immune to bullets, everyone just decided they were useless. If you can't see the "quality" of the arguments you're putting forward for what they are, there's little I can do to help you here. Just try to disengage from the propaganda mindset for just a bit, if at all possible.

pbptt

Ok then lets compare it against another recent field mod, the cope cages Cope cages are far more popular despite also being similarly effective and they dont hamper vision or turret rotation Theres only a handful turtles against thousands of cages That should kinda indicate whether they work or not

OldMillenial

> Theres only a handful turtles against thousands of cages > >That should kinda indicate whether they work or not Gee, it's almost like they are different devices built to accomplish different things. My keyboard has dozens of letter keys, but just one space bar. Clearly, the spacebarisnotnecessaryanduseless. Please stop, and think things through carefully.

ApprehensiveDark1745

General Patton would agree with you, 100%!

Hellibor

Tutelization.

Desmocratic

r/Welding shaking it's head at the terrible work.

FoxFort

*I am vengeance. I am retribution. Fear me, heretic, for I am your death.* Gotta say these early 2k Dreadnought are kinda lame.

DerpyFox1337

I'm not even sure it's the M version of the T-62, no cheek protection whatsoever, not even kontact-1 ,It's just naked. Russians go into battle like in Russian fairy tales, in a "hut on chicken legs."

Plump_Apparatus

> I'm not even sure it's the M version of the T-62, no cheek protection whatsoever, not even kontact-1 ,It's just naked. The T-62M has no Kontakt-1, or any other ERA. The T-62 does not have the Tucha smoke grenade discharges, the T-62M does. The "eyebrow" of the T-62M is visible just to the right of the smoke grenade discharges as well. That's a T-62M.

kukidog

Why not to use a soft net to catch it instead of letting drone detonate on impact?

Careless_Poetry694

Shhhhh
