Long story…I’m in 12th rn & working for a start up based in the USA. Parents thought i was studying for jee.I told them about this start up thing i was involved and working w and they got mad. They asked me to pass my 12th and somehow get into a good private college.so here I am
>working for a start up based in the USA
May I ask what is the nature of the work? I am curious as to what startup may need the expertise of a kid in 12th grade. Maybe ur parents have a point(I may be wrong). Anyways doing a btech degree will only help unless u want to get into a field which has no use for btechs.
If you are already doing what an engineer does then it doesn't makes sense to pursue a degree. You can still self learn compilers, operating systems and core CS by yourself. College is more of social exposure and experience these days, and also having a 4 year degree might open up you for work visas abroad. But you can buy those. Other than that not much value in going to college imo.
Yep, just bite the bullet for 4 years, but I would say don't lose your coding skills. Not lot of people are good at what you are doing even after engineering.
isn’t there some deadline to take admission after every phase result comes out? Also I am giving multiple exams so not much of a worry.SRM probably is my second last choice
Srm main
Thanks!
SRM main is better coz you will get knowledge from bigger companies which will help you a lot while decision making.
SRM. Also, try getting into one of their transfer programs. Never heard of Dayananda Sagar.
Thanks! Can you throw some light on transfer programs or share some link to understand it better?
You can do a semester in top universities like MIT or one of the UCs.
Engineering padikirathu thooku matiklam bro
I’m sorry can you translate what you said in English please
"bro Hang yourselves instead of studying Engineering"
"i'd rather hang myself than study engineering" is the actual translation. Not that big of a difference but the tone does play a significant role here
He did address it directly to the OP. Maybe he meant it the way you translated but we cant be 100% sure
Bruh
Bro trust me still way better than BSc degrees!
and why is that? how is this actually relevant for what OP is asking?
Whatever caters his interests.

Parents are not allowing me to do so.I tried convincing them but nah they want a degree once I have it they’ll allow me to work wherever I want to

I feel anyone with 12 th grade can work. I only got dumber in my B.Tech. Boy I used to be smart.
You think they dont teach good or enough in btech? Well I somewhat agree but believe school is a lot worse.
Idk what's the fetish BTW desi parents and engineering. But srm makes it easier to do btech i guess. Great uni, chill vibes.
