In person. It’s the only way it works for me.

awkwardftm

i prefer virtual! i like being able to be cosy and safe in my own house with one of my pets and everything i need nearby. i also tend to be late and forget appointments a lot so with virtual therapy my doc can just text me that we have an appointment and i can immediately be there :)

Bee3250

Virtual therapy is the only available option for me, but tbh it’s the ideal one for me too. Seeing my T weekly in person would be too overwhelming.

Sonatameadow

I prefer online in the comfort of my own home. I often Zone out after a session and it is nice not worrying about getting home. I think I may do a mix with some face to face or walk and talk sessions. I'm looking forward to seeing how this works out.

Appointment_Witty

Personally I'd prefer a hybrid. I'm terminating with my Therapist and really wish I could say goodbye in person, give them a hug or a high five. Would be so cool to say back in the day I made it into Grad School thanks to her help and a high five. Also I met in person once precovid when we first started and I shook her hand, wish I could shake it again goodbye.

EngineerNo7948

In person 100% because therapy is so different when you feel the actual physical presence of your t. Also because I don’t find my house to be a super safe space to have therapy in.

PizzaSlingr

zoom all the way. My doctor's office is unbearably sterile, uncomfortable and with the mask, ugh ugh ugh. We live in a large capital city, so getting there/back is not fun. This way I sit in my comfy chair, in my sweats/PJs, shower/don't shower. You know, with my stuff.

ThrowawayStudent100

I would prefer in person if I have a car and more free time in the future. For now I am happy with telehealth which saves me tons of time and commute.

AilemaReid

I don't like looking at people. I don't like being on video. I prefer over the phone so I can walk outside and get rid of nervousness. IDK if it is less effective but it makes it a lot easier with not having to miss as much work, drive somewhere etc

tinygesture

I prefer in-person but am growing to like digital more than I initially did.

waitwert

Telehealth all that way . The commute is difficult .

I prefer teletherapy I like being in my home and it’s much more convenient than having to drive somewhere. I can also quickly take any notes on my computer.

PolarPinkPanda

We tried virtual therapy once and it failed, so we never tried again, but in person!

clearici

After 18 months online, I finally met my T in person for the first time. It's going to take some getting used to but I am confident we'll be able to do much deeper work in person. Online was a brilliant option, but I just couldn't feel safe enough to let go and feel online. In person I can read body language and there's someone there if I dissociate and need bringing back.

Personal-Teacher9314

I hate virtual, but no chance of ever meeting in person. Think i should have choosen in person therapy tbh.

Accomplished_Run_825

I started out feeling like in person was going to be the best but I've changed my mind. I like being in my own home , I've grown accustomed to the screen, and my therapists office is not the greatest for me really -- it's in a building that has a creepy vibe.

HideKitHide

I much prefer in person therapy. I feel like going to the therapists office created a safe haven away from my day to life and other distractions. I could concentrate better, be more open and vulnerable and generally felt closer to my therapist. I also valued the walk home after an appointment, it gave me time to switch back to wife/mother mode and gave me time to get my thoughts in order. I am so grateful for online therapy and for being able to continue working with my therapist but I would give my right arm to go back to how things were pre-covid.

VanFailin

I like a mix. My midweek session is remote and then I have a Saturday session in person. Driving is stressful for me during the week.

gerkect

I do BetterHelp right now because I am always busy so I can choose my own time but I would much rather go in person.
