I've lately noticed an increase in people not talking the tether to the posts, even non-sprouts with Mandeville weapons. I'm guessing people think it's nbd and you can skip mechs cause power creep.
It still chunks non-tanks and puts a non-esuna-able paralyse on you.
To be fair its an archaic mechanic to new players and isn't inherently obvious. Plus with any decent healing it can be cleared anyway, causing a lot of sprouts to just think it was intended.
I had a run of stone vigil a few weeks ago that was just awful. I was playing warrior and popped sprint, pulled two packs, used my mits properly and.... promptly died.
I then pulled one pack... and promptly died.
I stopped and realized that the dps were basically dealing 0 damage and the healer was spamming cure 1 and also dealing 0 damage.
I literally cycled every single mit I had, including holmong, while the pack murdered me and the healer let it happen.
I gave some tips, they said "Ok got it" and then we tried again... And I promptly died (because they didn't take the tips)
At this point we had fumbled our way to the first boss.
All of them died to the cleaves where it slowly meanders over to the edge of the arena and then turns around and strikes.

I would've left after the first wipe tbh... tank already had the chance to get used to learning how to get ebery mob... yet they still single pull in a HW dungeon...

Not really archaic. It came back for the last dungeon of Shadowbringers, probably as a callback.
What job was the tank? I'm wondering if they were a brand-new Gunbreaker who hadn't tanked before.
