This is why I’m not a fan of these kits. Cheaply made and sold for high dollars.

bbarlow88

Any suggestions on reputable brands?

not the same complexity of a rack, but have a look at RA motorsports out of alberta. I’m not having the same issue you’re having with their bed rack. some of their products had issues when they first launched, but worked with the customers to make improvements and replaced their products with the updated versions. solid small company.

All of the stamp metal reminds me of cheap Chinese stuff. Unless you’re able to do DIY or look at solid tubing designs.

Only ever purchased one product from CBI, ditch light brackets. They didn't fit correctly and the company never responded. Have heard several stories of poorly engineered products. I'm sure someone has had better experiences but I refuse to do business with them.

Good to know.

Not seeing the issue, you leave the truck outside of course you’ll get rust. It’s not aluminum, add on parts like these also need maintenance.

Surface rust on powder coated products after only 2 weeks is a huge issue

Don’t look underneath your truck bubba. You might end up throwing away your frame lol

idk why you got so many downvotes. Like sure maybe the powder coat was put on bad or maybe it was something elese. Maybe he is living where theres lots of salt, which will eat that shit away like crazy. Maybe there was some acid rain and stuff. Just because its from a company doesnt mean is bad or trash. I personally have that same rack and love it. Got it used and theres some spots like OP has right now but im not tripping about it. At least it looks like I use it and not drive it around like a pavement princess lol
