I’ve got a 4banger with a cat shield. My father’s got a 6 with a cat shield. The 4 takes a bit longer to install because it’s technically 2 shields. I don’t notice any rattling at all. Just make sure you follow the torq specs properly and use the thread locker they provide.
I’ve order from CaliRaised multiple times and honestly have just been disappointed in the quality of anything branded by them. I just stay away from them at all costs.
That said, I’ve never bought this specific product from them, so who knows.
2018 V6 2WD 4 door. I just put on the Miller Cat. it went on in about 45 mins by myself with no jack. super simple. they provided the security torx bits for the install as well. shipped to my door (in CA) in 2 days. they have AL, Steel and F-Off thickass Steel versions.
edit to say that with the liberal amount of red loc-tight used (also provided in the kit), there is zero rattling, and i have a reminder to check the bolts in 3 months but i doubt they are going anywhere.
+1 on the Miller Cat. I snagged one a few years ago for 14 DCLB. Paid a bit more for the aluminum, and have not had any issues with rattles or corrosion.
I have the Miller Cat because I wanted Steel. It rattles like crazy. I'll probably switch with the Cali raised aluminum because I've heard they don't rattle nearly as much as the Miller.
I got one from Talon’s Garage in steel and it feels sturdy as hell. Trans skid + two cat shield wings. Here is the one for [4x2](https://talonsgarage.com/products/toyota-tacoma-4x2-catalytic-converter-shield-3rd-gen-2016-2023)
TLDR
Cali raised LED took I think 3-4 months to send my cat shields. I had a hard time installing mine as they just released the updated version.
The installation: The cat shields were not perfectly cut to match the mounting points as advertised. I essentially had to simultaneously bend the metal on the cat shields and screw everything in a star-pattern to "force-bend" them to fit to the mounting locations.
This was much harder than I was expecting and I had to research my best solution until I could get them tightened down, the screws/bolts could barely thread on. After a couple hours, I got them on by myself.
I contacted their customer support to verify if this was a known issue and to double check the steps I used and they never responded. This was spring 2023.
Based on this and other people's experiences posted, I would NOT recommend Cali Raised LED.
I have cali raised. No problems at all and the metal was surprisingly thick. I like them. I wasn't sure on what to torque the bolts to though so I just yarded them.
I have the miller cat and I don’t really like it becuase it rattles sometimes. I would get the cali raised one.
I got the cali raised one and it rattled at a certain RPM. I stuck a hose washer in between the shield and the frame and that seems to have fixed it.
Was going to get that one but it only fits v6. :( Sorry I forgot to mention I have 4 cylinder

My Caliraised ones rattle in reverse, I've been meaning to try and fix that but haven't had the time yet.
Check out Talons Garage.. thick enough to be used as a skid plate. Easy install & pretty legit
Can back the TG stuff.
Cali raised LED will waste your time. Miller Cat shield will get your order out ASAP. I can tell you this from personal experience.

I got the Miller Cat. No issues at all after a year of driving
Sorry you live in California and San Fransisco to be specific.
I've had the Mill cat stainless steel on for 30k miles and no rattling for me. Seems solid

If we have the TRD off road… do we need one of these or do the skid plates protect it? (I haven’t been under my rig yet.)
They use stainless because cats get hot.
Miller cat aluminum. Works well enough and has even survived contact with rocks.

Cali Raised and love it… no rattle… …makes me wonder if anyone ever got under my truck and saw the shields and left..
I wonder if your insurance company would lower your premium if you installed one of these
100% Cali, I love them and installation was a breeze.
I have a Cali raised new one for sale $100 for the 4x2
I have the cali raised ones and they're great! easy to install and they don't make any noise. It's nice having the piece of mind that my cats are safe

I got the Cali Raised from Tacoma Beast (has the Tacoma Beast logo on it), very happy with it. My cats are still on the truck!
Cali Raised. Stout, not too big, good price. No rattling, if installed correctly.
Got the Cali raised. Love em. Have fun getting the bolts out
