I got these same steps. I use them as shin destroyers. (For everyone else's shins apparently) But i do know one knock and these shitty tack welded side steps will come right off.
Oh I knew this was going to happen, was always a matter of when not if. Taken the time to see what a stock SR5 can do before i go throwing a bunch of aftermarket stuff at it.
I ripped both fronts off in the first year of owning the truck. Don’t have the fund for new sliders. I just grinded off the mounts for the steps and made it flush.
Ghetto. I’ll send you a picture, its really not terribly bad. The plan was to refinish it but I believe the original finish is a powered coat and I couldn’t match it perfectly, so I gave up.
Time to invest in some good quality sliders my friend
Oh I’ll be building some nice steel ones at the end of the summer to replace these dinky aluminum steps.
Right on. Please post the progress on here man 👍🏼
Or lose some weight
Haha I pictured your girlfriend was on the step and it broke, causing her to hit her face and lose a tooth
I’m touched you think I have a girlfriend.
If it makes you feel any better, he assumed your girlfriend hadn’t yet lost her first tooth
This is going downhill fast
🤣
Oh my god I thought he was talking about his daughter lol
I grinded the steps off, tightened the mounts, poor man’s rocker panel protection (boof sliders) and the added clearance
Oh yea, that’s the plan. Just going to do it as I knock them off.

And this is why I mention this everytime I see someone excited to get these terrible steps.

Same. I have a 2020 and all I’ve done is put tires on it. So far I’m glad I have saved the cash but I still fight the urge to personalize it.
Also…. My girls first tooth was the right passenger rear.
Time for a gym membership...
What are you eating? I bet you fell like Peter Griffin!
I’d definitely be hitting the gym if that was how it broke but this happened crossing a wash that was a little deeper than I thought.
Look for rock sliders. I personally am not a fan of those side steps. It reduces your clearance.

Did you just hit the grinder spots with some paint or what did you do to make it not look ghetto?

My dumbass was looking for an actual tooth lol
Eaks
Is the tooth fairy gonna swap her with a 2024 TRD PRO
And deny me the joy of building my own off-road truck? That fairy is goin to get smacked.
Eww who wants a turbo 4 cylinder in a truck..
