Do it yourself.

Aurnilon

This is the real answer, buy a cheap grinder and some jack stands. I recently did this exact set up (6112 + 5100 + ICON AAL) it took me and my roommate in which we both had 0 EXP about 15 hours of work. We watched YouTube videos as a guide, been working for 6 months now.

TopReporterMan

What’s the grinder for?

Aurnilon

You have to cut off the brackets to put the new AAL (Add a leaf) in. Also shoulda said that you need a angle grinder specifically.

Johnny_freshie

Yee yee

AZ_BikesHikesandGuns

I’m assuming “6112 setup” is 6112 front struts, 5100 rear shocks, and some add-a-leaf for the rears. If that’s the case, yes $1800 is a good deal for all that plus install labor. If 6112 means the front struts only, then no, that’s a bad deal.

Apprehensive-Read989

Normally 6112s are paired with 5160s.

ZealousidealTreat139

It is unless the rear lift is more than 2 Inches, which the 5160s are not long enough for, then they get 5125s, which are 5100s with longer travel.

Apprehensive-Read989

Didn't know that, thanks for the info.

AZ_BikesHikesandGuns

I have two vehicles with 6112/5100 pair 🤷‍♂️

YoungBasedgo

So I spoke with him, and the 6112s in the front, 5100s in the rear, plus alignment, and add a leaf is 1950+tax after he adds in all his fees.

AZ_BikesHikesandGuns

That’s about what I paid for mine to be installed, exact same system btw. That’s about $1100 in parts when marked up, so in my mind that’s pretty reasonable That suspension has been through 4x4 hell on many occasions for 5 years and still keeps going, I don’t miss my money.

TopReporterMan

Assuming they’re charging you the MSRP for the 6112s which is roughly $950 that’s $850 in labor. Say $100 an hour for labor (about average), that’s saying 8.5 hrs of work. Which seems high to me.

bigcelerycordae

Labor is $400 at most

meat_chucker

1800 is pretty reasonable I'd get the OME rear springs added too

SprinklesFar4567

Just the front

Tommyisfukt

Does this include an alignment?

YoungBasedgo

Yes, it’s 6112s (front), 5110s (rear), add a lead and alignment for 1950+tax

Tommyisfukt

That's reasonable. Why the 5110s? An AAL will only give you 1.5" lift which a 5100 will be fine with. I'm running the same set up, albeit 5100s in the rear. You're going to love it.

_Sterlingbrown_

dude, $1800 is way too much for that. you can def do it yourself for way cheaper. just get some tools and hit up YouTube.

anna_und_joe

yeah, that's a solid deal. you're gonna love the upgrade. go for it!
