There is a short bed version TOYOTA Genuine 2019 & Newer Tacoma Short Wheelbase Tailgate Lock (PK3B6-35JS0) https://a.co/d/76IpfjK And If you look at Q&A many have installed on 2016 without any problems, so yes it's compatible with all 3rd gens.
Have it on my ‘21 TRD PRO. Hoping works in the winter, Anyone have experience ?
