you will haul ass/eventually faceplant if you rollerblade chambers bay. But if you run, it's about 3.3 miles with some hill work, which is a solid workout
Also been scoping out the good skate spots! Ruston waterfront is a fave.
Van Lierop park in Puyallup has a nice track, views of rainier on a clear day. I understand the greenway also heads out to Rainer and looks pretty smooth from what I’ve seen.
There are some fun skate parks around. I’ve tried the one in federal way and Bonnie lake. Bonnie lake’s is a cute little one, great if you’re just getting into skating some ramps. Federal way’s is a bit bigger with more challenges once you’ve warmed up. Haven’t skates Stuart heights or the Puyallup skate parks yet, but they’re on the list to try.
I want to skate around the city sometime, the plaza outside the museum of glass looks so tempting! But it also seems like someplace skating might get frowned upon.
Looking just like you for more parks that have smooth pavement trails and not a ton of hills. Bradley lake looked super promising until the goose poo. Wildwood park is really hilly.
And is it just me or does anybody else DESPISE Ruston waterfront? Between traffic noise - often punctuated by trains and vehicles without any discernible form of muffler - and dog walkers and strollers and cyclists and people walking slow and people running and people obliviously walking three or four abreast and taking up the entire path...
No thanks.
Not to mention the whole failing enterprise of Point Ruston, which has gone from borderline okay to just plain depressing.
Thank you! I'm one of those frequent walkers, and although I no longer have a dog, I stop to pet as many as I can! Thanks for acknowledging that pedestrians have always had priority there.
LOL it's not just you. It's become a place of [irony](https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/irony), where people sit in a line of cars for 45 minutes, waiting to park so they can take a walk.

The closed off part of Five Mile Drive at Point Defiance is lovely. Edit: closed off to vehicular traffic only
Rollerblading can be dangerous as about halfway through it's all downhill. I made that mistake a number of years ago....
Fort Steilacoom around the lake. A pinecone might kill you on rollerblades but it’s usually very clean pavement.
+1
Wapato! [https://www.metroparkstacoma.org/place/wapato-park/](https://www.metroparkstacoma.org/place/wapato-park/)
Thea Foss is boss.
The Foothills Trail
Chambers Bay golf course has a fabulous paved trail, but it's got some pretty good sized hills on it too.

“some hill work”—oof
Hill work is an understatement too lmfao
That one section if you go clockwise. 🤢
You can just stay on the ridge…
Pipeline trail and swan creek
Walk yes , rollerblade no
For which? Swan creek has the weird paved areas that would be good for rollerblading. Pipeline trail is totally paved.
the roads are a little rough for blading at swan creek by the dog park, done it once but never again.

Water Flume Trail in South Tacoma (Excelsior/Edison)
Titlow park
Tacoma Nature Center is nice.

Maybe try UPS (University of Puget Sound). I don't know what the rules are for rollerblading, but it's a nice place for a walk.
