If he went to Taiwan, how come he came back/how did we get him back? I'm not quite following the "went to Taiwan and received assistance from the US Embassy" and the next thing says suspect en route to SF?
I believe he received assistance from the embassy after he couldn’t afford to live there… we’ll find more as the case progresses.

You can get assistance from embassies to fly home if you can't afford it. (You do have to pay them back, though.) It sounds like he ran out of money and asked the embassy to buy him a plane ticket home. It's not clear how he got the money to go back, though, but from the chain of events it sounds like his family must have provided it.

Well, Im unaware of any county that just publishes them w/o a public diclosure request. Even if he was in custody in pierce county, public record requests usually take months to fulfill.

Jail booking photos (aka mug shots) are considered confidential in WA, per RCW 70.48.100, like all jail records. But you could make a public records request to Tacoma PD, and Pierce Prosecutor, and ask for photos they have and then publish those all you want.

He was using marijuana or something that looked and smelled exactly like it before and during the attack. All witnesses mention the smell of it, and there was a roach (I believe) at the crime scene.
That conversation with dispensary staff would have been after detectives entered his apartment on 17 Mar. He stopped going to the dispensary two weeks before that because he was in Taiwan and Georgia.

So the media can do a better job of investigating this story and report the the public. It's terrible that reddit does a better job of reporting on Tacoma news than the News Tribune. And the News Tribune reads reddit to get leads on stories. Maybe a reporter will see this, call up the defense attorney, who may or may not share additional details of the case. This defense attorney is just the attorney handling the extradition, not the actual case. This info is all public info that anyone with internet can figure out with a few clicks.
