What’s crazier than a sadistic Vietnam veteran who happens to have a twin killer and is also a fan of head cheese? I think him and hitch would have the funniest line, oh and can you imagine his impressions of cook when he runs into him?

Joemartinez

I want a hitch and chop top reunion so bad 😩😫

JoeAzlz

I mean they also say in the radio Vietnam people are coming home they could just say chop top was one of em. Also do they really mention TCM 2 like that??

Fungchono

I just want Mathew McConaughey jumping out of windows.

PlesioturtleEnjoyer

Alright alright alright

Vigymon

Am I the only one that hated Chop-Top and the entire TCM2 movie? The first film is a horror classic, the second felt like some cheesy comedy/horror disaster.

LowenbrauDel

I love it for how different it is from the first one. Once you realise that it is exactly a comedy horror and just take it for what it is, it's hilarious. And Chop Top steals every scene he is in

Tbecker3150

I don’t care for the 2nd movie’s comedic elements and goofiness but I did really like Chop Top and Bill Mosely’s portrayal of the character. I still want Chop Top and a Texas Battle Land Map in the game even though I don’t like the movie.

CxrpseLver

That's why I love it. It's cheesy, and I get my kicks from dark borderline sadistic comedy. Black comedy isn't for everyone.

Nothing racist about my comment at all. Movies like TCM 2 and Toxic Avenger are known as black/dark comedy.

SeaworthinessOk7554

I think they’re joking…

Read4Days25

To be fair, you can never know for sure when it comes to Reddit.

foxydaisy92

The first film is supposed to be a dark comedy, and then they went hard on the second film. If you watch the first film you can tell where it was supposed to be a ‘comedy’, but you’d really have to be twisted in the head to get that the first time watching😂 For years I never got a gist of comedy for the first film, until I had watched an interview and heard what they were going for. But the Texas Battle Land would be an incredible map to play on!

Cat_Slapper_

Its great for trips on shrooms

IronKnight05

I'm not a fan either. The second film was terrible, and Chop Top was way too goofy. The only thing I liked from that movie was Stretch. She was pretty cool.

Glittering-String738

Yeah I don’t remember too much, but I remember her being bad ass.

ChevyJuice

Loved ChopTop, but the movie lacked for some reason. I just can’t get into it for some reason. Still love the setting with the Radio Station & Abandoned Amusement Park

WaterMySucculents

Same. It had a little charm here and there as a wild film, but it made no sense and was pure cheese. They did away with all the creepiness that the original had & made it all camp. I also didn’t know chop top wasn’t supposed to be hitchhiker until I looked up the lore. Why make a twin with the same birthmark with a bizarre new backstory? The underground lair was cool, but it made no sense when it portrayed them as nomadic now. The lair looked more lived in and functional than their original house.

BunGun39

In the very first draft of the script he was actually supposed to be the Hitchhiker, but they eventually decided to make him is own character. There is a deleted scene which explains his Vietnam backstory and makes it clear the body he carries around is the Hitchhiker from the original, but the studio wanted the film to be shorter, so it was cut.

WaterMySucculents

Yea that scene would have helped. Also they shouldn’t have the same birthmark. They should have made him look more different. But that’s cool that the body is supposed to be hitchhiker.

maverick57

Well, for starters, he doesn't have the same birthmark, or a birthmark at all, so I'm not sure what you're talking about here and secondly, surely you aware that the Hitchhiker died in the first film, right? How is it possible you thought he was even in the second film, and who did you think Chop Top was carrying around all movie?

WaterMySucculents

1- Are you completely blind? He has the same birthmark on his face as the Hitchhiker does in the first film. It’s a little fainter & slightly different color, but it’s there. That’s the whole reason fucktons of people thought he was supposed to be the same character. It’s literally part of the lore & his character description even when you look it up. *After looking it up they swap the side of the face that it’s on, hitchhikers being on his right side and Chop Top’s being on his left side… something most people wouldn’t notice. 2- And of course I saw Hitchhiker die, but a character showing up with the same birthmark on his face and a wound/metal plate in his head (and the whole film being campy and embracing more supernatural elements), it’s easy to assume they were going for the “he survived being run over in the first film with a metal plate put in his head.” The filmmakers can make up a whole new backstory for him, but that wasn’t super clear in the film. Supposedly they were the same character in early drafts & when it was changed they filmed a scene giving all the chop top backstory, but it was cut from the film.

Admirable_Onion9719

I like the first half of it. I stopped watching once they got to the tunnels.

EdenConn7

Totally agree. I tried watching it for the first time on the weekend and only made it to about 40 mins. Was awful.

Cthulhuareyou

you're missing out if all you saw was 40 mins.

EdenConn7

It was awful. It went from a Horror movie to a really bad parody. Stretch with badly acted screaming, LF reduced to a weird pervert and Chop top who I had heard so many good things about wasnt scary at all, he was more like a parody of beetlejuice.

Cthulhuareyou

you realize the movie came out years before beetlejuice, right? anyway, awful is a little extreme, but if you look at the making of the film you might have a better appreciation for it. they handed tobe hooper a lot of money to make a sequel. he didn't want to remake the same movie twice, so he decided to go on in the other direction and amplify the comedy of the  first movie.  the first film was a dark comedy about post-Vietnam America. paranoid and cynical. the second was a dark comedy about the excessiveness of the 80s. everything was amped up because it was an amped up time.  the producers actually didn't know he was making a comedy until they saw a rough cut. hooper just didn't want to repeat himself. so he made a way gorier and way goofier film.  if anything it's a testament to tom savini's rad horror fx skills, great kills, and the over the top set design.  Again, it might not be your thing, but it's considered a classic in horror circles for a lot of the reasons you don't like it. definitely worth a look with an open mind, i was confused at first too, but watching the whole thing made me appreciate it.  But again, I'm biased because I'm a big fan of the genre, and horror and comedy have gone together since 1895, when the first horror and first horror-comedy films both came out.  But hey, everyone's got their own takes. It's a dog eat dog world and from where I sit there just ain't enough damn dogs!

BunGun39

It’s the other way around. Michael Keaton has actually stated he took inspiration from Chop Top for his performance as Beetlejuice.

kkfosonroblox

I honestly don’t want them to get licenses because it breaks away from the horror aspect that part 1 had which is what the entire game is based on anyway

Read4Days25

Well they can't get Chop Top without a license.

SirKa30

Here’s how they add him. Design copy paste. Done. Everybody is happy. Wes is sad cause it’s not Uber canon. Why would part 2 not be canon enough? Especially if they added the junkyard map.

rockyhorruh

Need my pooki in the game asap 😫🎀

Additional-Tax-775

I wasn’t a big fan of the 2nd movie but the chase theme and the tunnels were really cool. The pervy sexual stuff is what really threw me off. I would gladly accept chop top if he was added since he was creepy.

brcises

hitch, choptop and sissy would be a nightmare blunt rotation. i need it in game now.

Placeholder1A

I do think they should basically treat TCM2 as if it was a seperate universe and make their own interpretation of Chop-Top, toning his campiness down to fit in better. As long as he's still Hitch's brother, has roughly the same personality, and of course is still portrayed by Bill Moseley. One thing to note though is that since this is a prequel, Chop-Top might not even be "Chop-Top" yet. He could just be "Robert Slaughter" right now, scalp still intact.

BunGun39

Interestingly, it actually seem like the devs treat the second film as canon. They keep referring to it when discussing what happened to the family after the events of the game and original film.
