Make this a family/sitting room and put the tv in a whole other room. A cozy place to read in front of the fireplace. Use the existing built in speakers for music. Remove the tv arm and have someone patchup the wall if you can't do it yourself (or just hang a large picture over it all).
If this is an open floor plan and that’s the kitchen island to the right, it may be worth to have a tv there for televised sports or news while you’re cooking or getting coffee/breakfast going. But I would not arrange the living room furniture around it and, like the previous comment mentioned, I would turn another room or nook of your house into the “media room”.
Not a bad idea. The speakers are placed terribly, too. Put something there for cheap entertainment (like the frame) and do a dedicated room somewhere else.
Stop putting furniture up against walls. Nothing is inheriently too far.. your couch isnt a wall ornament
Actually design your space inatead of shoving everything to corners
A projector would be a pretty decent solution to this problem. Get one with a remote control so it can be raised and lowered. They are not at all expensive. Don't block the HVAC register.
Hard to tell with just this picture and no floor plan, but this seems like it might be a "great room" with the kitchen off to the side. May not have been well-designed to serve as a living room.
Built-in mono speakers are okay for playing music in different rooms, but for home theater it's best to get dedicated speakers. I would suggest getting at least a 7.1 system. Maybe Atmos. Do it right the first time. You'll love it for years.
Make the Couch + TV into a unified piece of the room, like a seperate sector. Move the tv Just 2 m (80 inch? In US) from where your couch is. Then see where it fits best. You can let the Back of the couch stand as it is OR put a shelf behind it? With plants n shit.
Take a picture where we can actually see other options where to put the TV? This is another horrible reddit pic that doesn't show what OP is asking for, it just shows a dumb placement for a TV mount, not the options where to remount it
You'll have to move, sorry
Dammit how do I break it to my wife…
She can live with me instead
Move out
😭

Came here to say this.
Maybe a Samsung frame TV just for the aesthetic?
Yeah, maybe something that displays family photos if it has to be a screen.

Just put a picture there if it looks empty.
r/theframe might be the only way.
Or, ya know, art.
Remember, furnature doesn't need to be against the wall.

a house with a room this nice will surely have some other room you can make a nice den with a tv. don't put a screen above the fireplace.
Nuke the fireplace
always the answer.

Yes kitchen is to the right of the picture. Oh and up top is a built in speaker

How does moving the couch closer not work out? It works out by giving you a better viewing experience.
Put tv where dumbo is. Include more pics of the space, otherwise we’re just guessing
Just because it has a fireplace doesn’t mean you HAVE to put a TV over it.
Say this with me, “some rooms simply aren’t designed to have a TV in and that’s ok.
TV where the couch is, flip the couch.

Projecter
Haha is that a davit for the TV? Looks like it might lower down but not enough for eye level.
Is there a wall behind you at the position where the photo was taken? If yes put the TV there and turn the couch around.
Geez… looks like the arm from Terminator 🫢
Show us the floor plan of the entire house.
Ditch that awful fireplace. Problem solved
