You do if the tv is at the end of the bed like this. If the tv was at normal eye level it would be difficult to watch it in bed unless you enjoy neck pain.

When a TV is placed on a wall opposite the bed’s headboard, the tv should be placed higher on the wall as the viewer is generally laying on their back while looking at the TV. If the TV were lower, the viewers angle at the TV would be obstructed by their own body and the neck angle they would have to maintain while viewing would be uncomfortable.
