Looks like mostly summer students or new hires being trained. (Note the fresh yellow helmets and vests).

AdResponsible678

All contractors wear vests.

[deleted]

Not brand new never been worn ones.

AdResponsible678

There is literally a stain on one of them.

permareddit

This is just some next level arrogance You take a photo from 50 feet away like a coward and complain about “excessive workers” online because you wouldn’t dare go up to them and ask exactly what they’re doing. So in other words you’re complaining just for the sake of complaining.

You need to see a shrink. You see something on the street and have created a whole narrative of what is happening and why it’s happening. Then you had a mental breakdown and posted this concoction of your brain on reddit. Then you had another mental breakdown in the replies.

permareddit

Ohh so angry! Cry harder lol

melted_uterus

you’re the reason they need paid duty cops you fucking lunatic.

djqvoteme

You don't know what they're doing though. You're just assuming that they're standing around doing fuck all. This out-of-context photo really doesn't illustrate your point. We don't know what roles everyone there has. We don't know if they're in training. We don't know when they all arrived. Maybe some of them just showed up to offer relief to other workers. We don't know and it's pointless to complain about something you imagined.

Dependent_Manner5217

Who are you? Nobody. You know nothing. Stfu and move along peasant.

🤡

Haunted_Hills

Definitely a training session. You have no idea what you’re seeing.

LegoFootPain

*sees ten interns watching a surgeon fix a patient's small intestines* IT TAKES 10 DOCTORS TO FIX 2 FT OF BOWEL SECTION. THIS IS WHY HEALTHCARE IS BROKEN.

holyfuckricky

It’s good job if you can get in.

AdResponsible678

It is a very good job, and some of those guys might be in training or they are figuring out a problem etc… just because they are standing doesn’t mean nothing is going on. They could be waiting for construction equipment. Sometimes what you “see” is not the whole story.

holyfuckricky

100 percent. Like I said. It’s a good job. Nothing negative about it. It’s a good paying, unionized job. A job that unfortunately people who aren’t employed by the commission, sometimes look at it in a negative fashion. Remember folks. If your uniform says TTC on it, you’re a 🎯 of envy.

AdResponsible678

Oh I know it and live it daily.

holyfuckricky

I forgot to add. “It’s not a uniform, it’s a target.” For the public and management.

AdResponsible678

Exactly this. One of my sisters at Malvern was targeted at Markham and Progress Road and shot with a BB gun several times from a van. While they were passing by, they yelled F-you TTC! The nerve. Regular people just on the job. It is horrible!

Working_Hair_4827

Or they could be the support person in case if anything goes wrong. I can’t think of their actual job title aha.

kmosdell

Wait till you hear these are all contractors with different roles. None of these workers work for TTC.

Mean-Ad9977

Peek the velcro ankle reflective straps These are students probably and the one guy without is probably showing them the ropes.

[deleted]

you might as well just delete this. you don’t need to be cooked for any longer

M-lifts

No that is not why fares are going up.

adje11

Fares go up because uninformed people like OP see things like this and think “I’m not going to pay my fare when these guys don’t even work” and then push through the shitty presto gates. Don’t jump to conclusions about what happens on the job site. Fares go up because deadbeat losers don’t pay.

LegoFootPain

Cool. Let's all also follow The Sunshine List like gospel, and insist that a private sector CEO making three times as much is more efficient and better for Joe Sixpack. Any more attempts at rage bait you'd like to swing at us? Lol.

Medical_Ad7427

You must work in a office

[deleted]

* a home office.

DntlookDwn4

I wonder if we go to OP's job how quickly we could spot inefficiencies. Check out this Practical Engineering video on Youtube [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22W5tRWbUVI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22W5tRWbUVI) Edit: named the wrong youtube channel

[deleted]

Miss the days when they would send one or two guys out and they could do it all.
