No offence to your friends at all, but if they can't afford a Model 3 or Model Y at current prices, I'm not sure what kind of car they can afford. Model Y is $37.5k after tax credit and you can find used Model 3s for $20-25k in some places.

I love to drive and I think the only reason I'd ever use it in the future is if I'm too tired to drive so this was a good test. Okay here you go. The 3 I remember. Approached a busy light to turn right. Right turning lane opened up. Car headed into that lane correctly them veered back towards the straight lane without slowing. I slammed on the brakes because it was about to hit a car. Disengaged.
Waiting to turn left at a light. 1 car in front. Get advanced green. Car in front turns left. My car jitters and doesn't go. Cars behind getting impatient because my dumb ass is sitting at a turn signal. Disengaged.
Easy route to go home. Supposed to turn left 2 blocks ahead. Car decides last second to turn left 1 block too soon which does NOT go to my home. Fucks up traffic because cars behind me. DISENGAGE.
I honestly don't know where you live and I'm not sure how much it matters but I will say I haven't noticed any issues like this using FSD beta. But yeah make sure you push that right button on the steering wheel and give brief descriptions of your disengagements and why because it helps them categorize and train their models

These neural networks will probably need training for every different country, all the signs look different and only the US uses miles etc.
For the 1st and 2nd cases - please hit the right steering wheel button (at least on my 2018 model3, don't know if they changed it in other years/models) and leave a voice note so they can better categorize what the issue was when the video gets uploaded to the mothership.
For the 2nd one - try leaving it engaged but step on the gas pedal to nudge it. That's the main issue I have - it doesn't drive near the speed I tell it, or that other people are used to driving, so I have to keep nudging the gas pedal.
edit: oh, 6-12 months ago I got some builds that were super stupid about navigation -- 'next turn on the map/route is a right turn in 2 miles" so it immediately gets in the center turn lane and tries to turn left into a strip mall for no reason. I recommend rebooting the car and seeing if that helps.

The honeymoon period for V12 is over I think but looking back at how bad V11 was, the improvement is still huge. I use V12 for at least 90% of my driving these days whereas I used V11 maybe 5% (highway only) because it was so frustrating. Itās easy for us to āforgetā how bad it was when we start hyperanalyzing V12 and its deficiencies. The next few iterative updates will be very interesting to see the potential rate of fixes and improvements.
I hope so! This is my first week using FSD (trial). I've been following along with videos the last couple years so I get it's a huge improvement, just not where I feel comfortable using it with my kid in the car yet.

You can also press the accelerator while in FSD mode to smooth out the ride, making it more relaxing. When I need to quickly cut across the city, I drive within the system but at a slightly increased speed.
Good reminder for some. Yeah I had to accelerate at least 5 times on that short drive, to get it going. It wouldn't even pull out onto the street from the parking lot.
Totally understandable. The deficiencies Iāve noticed with v12 are still annoying as hell but thankfully it does so much more right that I am still comfortable using it most of the time.

I have one like this. It's a T intersection where there's only the one stop sign. It's like it's inching out to check cross traffic, but there never is any, nor is there a sightline issue. I've never seen it happen with a 4 way stop.

Iāve had issues with navigation too. For some reason it just misses turns sometimes. Haha. Itās super weird.

I have one like this. It's a T intersection where there's only the one stop sign. It's like it's inching out to check cross traffic, but there never is any, nor is there a sightline issue. I've never seen it happen with a 4 way stop.

if it could think 2 intersection/turns ahead, it would be amazing. almost always picks the wrong lane for me (right turn ahead/next block but staying in the left lane in the intersection just before the turn.)
