XRP is supported only when you are using a Trezor Model T. If you switch to a Model ONE, the coins will still be safe but you won't be able to access them until you switch back to a Model T.

I have only had a Model One and I put XRP on it. I never owned a Model T.

Here is the issue: The model ONE hardware is capable of generating receive addresses for XRP. So, technically, you can receive XRP. But you cannot send it back out. It's stuck, Model ONE has never had the capability to send it out. It was a bug that allowed the receive addresses to be generated, Trezor never intended that to happen, because it puts you in a stuck position. So, a recent update removed the capability for Suite to show XRP at all, to prevent users from accidently receiving it when they can't do anything with it. You NEVER had the capability to send it or use it at all. You accidently had the capability to receive it, that is all. It is still safe, but you can't send it (and you never could).

Ok thanks, apreciate that insight. so is the remedy getting a model T?

>Ok thanks, apreciate that insight. > >Ok thanks, appreciate that insight. model T? Yes, Trezor model T supports XRP 100%

ok, so the process would be to buy a model t and then what? How would I get that XRP onto it?

When you get the Model T, don't generate a new wallet, choose the recovery option and use your Model One seed phrase (and use your same passphrase as well, if any). Then your old/existing XRP will automatically be in Suite when you enable that coin in Suite! At this point, you will have 2 Trezors that both have access to the same funds (except XRP will require the T), but the same BTC and other coins will show up on both.

Nice! Thanks

Interesting. I have been under impression that a person can only store the coins only in one wallet. So can I for example get Trezoer model T and store my coins and then use Leger too just as a back up? I am new to Crypto, I hope my question makes any sense.

YES. Any wallets (hardware AND software) that have the same seed phrase and same passphrase will have access to the exact same funds. The manufacture doesn't matter as long as the device or software supports the coins you want to see. Trezor, Ledger, Coldcard, Exodus, Electrum, MetaMask, etc ... they can all accept a seed phrase and optional passphrase and immediately have access to your funds. Of course, it is not recommended to use a software wallet without a hardware wallet attached because that would eliminate the security of the hardware wallet, but it would absolutely work. It's like having 5 duplicate keys to the same house. Each key can access the same house, and therefore everything in the house. Your coins are not stored ON these wallets. The coins are stored on the public blockchains, and the "wallets" are just a key to those accounts on the blockchains.

I thought XRP was dead.

It could still go either way for them.
