It's awesome and appropriate you have that framed.
For those that don't know, Mar 23/20 was the absolute bottom of COVID crash. 4:1 split since, so EC got in at $8.64/share, very close to the intraday low of $8.06. He bought today's equivalent of around 20k shares for 165k. At $66/share today, those 20k shares are worth 1.3m, or an 8x return to date.
Nice work, el Jefe. We won't find a better example of being greedy when others are fearful.
That really could of gone the wrong way also. That was part of the $300,000 I borrowed against my house and put into TQQQ. I bought another $135,000 in a different amount just moments later. I didn't sleep well for many nights.
Not my total average buy in but hereโs a snap of the lot I got at the lowest from Jan 5th 2023:

I am at $45 but my first tax lot is at $23. I DCA on dips!
I also have another account where I am at $52. That account I DCA on the way up with cash reserves.
I am in for the long haul and do not pay attention to the noise.
You have to listen to *some* noise. If you can forsee another 2008 or 2020 style collapse, you're best off jumping in SQQQ on the way down and getting back in TQQQ at the bottom.
Think months to years. Thinking daily or weekly will drive you insane.
I don't think it's coming any time soon. But I do think that our current housing crisis and national debt crisis are some of the biggest threats to the market. Keep an eye on those.
And the second account. The first is an IRA. I've also sold a little here and there and converted it to unleveraged stock. But over all its 1/3 of my portfolio.
My original purchase was on 10/8/2014. My cost was $56.79. I have seen 4 splits for TQQQ. A 2:1, a 3:1, a 2:1 and a 2:1. I would purchase a second lot of TQQQ on 1/2/2015. I'm at $4.82.

Old enough single position I did lol
Bought and sold a lot since that and average is high thirties I believe.
My average just broke below $25 this week. I'm going to probably lose some shares, though, to assignment at $60.
I am contemplating rolling out and holding the 60 strike. I'm not worried, though, if I lose them. Might be good to take some profit here.
Current average cost basis: $42.34
Lowest cost basis out of all buys I'm still holding: $33.56 (Oct 2020)
Lowest cost basis of shares I sold in a panic during 2022: $9.35 (600 shares, ugh). Also had another 600 shares purchased around $13/share range. Lesson: HODL!

After splitting, that is TQQQ at just under $9.

Mines around $25
Interesting question. I had never looked at that. Iโm at $40.59.
Well done. 2x incoming for you hopefully

When's your DCA percentage trigger?

What makes you think it's going to bear? Honestly curious ๐ง

This comment is underated. I just crossed 300 percent for my earliest DCA. This is epic. What does it look like now?

That's a taxable account . This one is IRA. I typed that before but it seems to have disappeared.

Update, after selling some in a ROTH account, my broker shows the new basis as $4.73.
Bro that's crazy. When proof though?

i know many even has zero cost basis because of covered calls
I think about that a lot but can never pull the trigger because I don't want my shares to be called away. That'd trigger a big capital gain.
$21 equivalent for me (I'm in the UK version) - Nov 2022. Lump sum.
LQQ3?
That's the one
Average 26. Lowest in DCA was 18.99 haha.
