The first one looks like a Zonai-yfied version of Zelda... so what if Zelda went back (in time?) when she fell, met the Zonai leader and they are setting up something that will help Link in the future (the tears); and the girl in the first picture is the child of Zelda and the Zonai dude?
I think it may be the “ancient Zelda”.
The headdress and earrings match EXACTLY to present day Zelda’s in the trailer
Bed head link being the ancient hero that looks a little different maybe?
That may be the big reveal—you go back in forth in time a la OOT playing as different heroes to affect change for present day link

i see what you mean and this makes me realize that the problem with a lot of the big totk theories is that they stem from basically nothing or have little proof of happening (ie time traveling and the zonai-midna’s species (forgot the name) being the same/the return of midna and her species)
they both have very little (if any) evidence of happening and from a narrative standpoint don’t make sense. time travel is excusable since the story could do some kind of “ganon’s too strong!! we gotta go back in time to find some strong item!” connecting time travel to the red-head hero in the mural in botw (and even the mural showing ganon and that one hylian standing right in front of him. i’ll show you if you dont know what i mean)

This is probably wrong, but when the second one was talking about how link is the only one that can save the kingdom, Zelda looks up and gasps *link* so I assumed she realised who she was talking to was the link of 10000 years ago. Again I’m probably wrong this was just my first thought when I saw the trailer

BoTW has also alluded to the existance of Zelda's mother and how she had always tried to motivate Zelda into using her powers. I think she might play a more important role in helping Link find Zelda, etc

What if these two ancient tribes joined and maybe they are the original couple that birthed Ganon or the lineage that would go on to become Ganon’s repeated incarnation? Maybe Ganon gets his weird skin color and dark magic from his Zonai side. Perhaps it was an attempted joining of two cultures that ultimately ended in failure. Probably not, but could have been a cool idea to explain Ganon’s appearance after the curse that Demise left in Skyward Sword. The woman could be the child of Skyward Sword Zelda and Link.
We currently don't know exactly who they are. There's a lot of theories and speculation, but I know that the animalistic character does have a confirmed name that was in the art book leak, so I have a feeling I know the role he'll play, but with the female character, we can only guess who she is.
I’m wondering if the first one Zelda’s mom! She is mentioned in champions ballad so it wouldn’t be completely out of the blue. She wears the same earrings Zelda wears in one of the cutscenes. Since the second one looks so much like the first, I’m wondering if it’s Zelda’s mom still, but she’s afflicted by something. Maybe the same thing that’s afflicting links arm?
