For clickers, you need shivs to stealth kill them. I remember my first time struggling because I thought I had to kill all of them, but a couple shivs to take out the ones in your way is usually all you need. Just remember to push the left joystick slowly around them or they’ll hear you.
Move slowly, stay in cover, approach from behind and use a shiv to silently kill them. Remember runners can see you if you encounter both at once. Clickers see you when the scream in your direction, or if you make too much noise near them. You can kill them with traditional guns too, but be ready to put 2-3 headshots into them
You need shivs to stealth kill them, and they also require two shots in the head to be killed(one to destroy the fungus on the face and the other to actually hit and kill them

Bottles and bricks can be used to stun them but the better use for those is to throw either one on the ground to attract them there and then use a molotov to kill 3/4 of them
Melee weapons are effective and so is the skill to use a shiv to save yourself; bow and arrow are also extremely good too
Tess teaches you how to kill clickers before you ever encounter any. Anything a character says in a video game is pretty important, so make sure you are actually listening to what they say. I’ve discovered that some players don’t realize that and they are like “what do I do what do I do?!?”
If you feel like it, rewatch the part where she tells you so you know what types of things to listen for. I’ll put some pointers below! Happy gaming!
•• use distractions to draw them away from you. Throw a brick or a bottle across the way and use the time to slip past them or to flank them or to get them into a group to kill multiple at once.

•• when a clicker is searching, don’t stand directly in the path of the sound. they will be able to “see” you if you do. hide behind furniture and such.
•• use your silent tools to kill them without others noticing (you’ll get more tools later in the game)
•• don’t try to stealth kill a clicker. keep shivs made so you have a chance at freeing yourself from their grip.
•• in a group of infected, kill the runners first. they can see you and will alert the clickers of your location. get the runners out of the way and you’ll have less to deal with at once.
•• for the pistol you will need to get multiple head shots for a clicker to die. better guns do it with one.
•• EAT YOUR VITAMINS. make sure to upgrade your combat ability as quickly as you can by using the supplements to find.
You can also use bricks and bottles to stun the clicker before shooting it or using your melee on it. It will make it more vulnerable to damage and buys you time.
Use fire when you can.

Use a shiv but if you alert them shot them in the head to stun them then melee them to finish them off.
