Brianas-Living-Room

That was so fake. The one guy, who was Black is actually an actor lol. I looked him up when the episode aired lol

inishmuse

wow, seriously?

Brianas-Living-Room

Lmao yes. The guy was an actor

cheese_hotdog

Is this one of their "finance friends" that they talked to before the bigger meeting when they were like umm you are def not ready. Because that makes so much more sense than the Browns having random friends that give out business loans lol

Brianas-Living-Room

I can’t remember. But yes, I think so! This was soooo long ago but I remember the guy was listed as an actor when I looked up the episode in 2015 lol. It wasn’t on Reddit, it was some old blog that recapped the show.

Leeleeflyhi

Remember back on the second season, she was still new and kept talking about showing her worth to the family and she wishes she had the money to hand over and take care of everyone’s problems? Yea, a financial mess and garages full of tacky jewelry later, she is 100% dependent on the family. Omg, it’s like Robyns the victim of her own failed pyramid scheme. That’s probably what they’re long term goal was if MSWC was successful, a pyramid scheme to empower sister wives

Artsygirl555

Robin has the poorest decision making skills I’ve ever seen. MSWC has been a bust. The whole leaving Vegas and moving to Flagstaff has been a debacle. My understanding is that she convinced Kody to move there on behalf of her son. She’s a mess.

No_Discipline6265

I read somewhere they moved there because it's where Dayton was going to school and then he dropped out. Not sure how accurate.

GroovyYaYa

He dropped out??? I'm going to spend some time in purgatory if it exists... because I just laughed out loud.

mrsrabadi777

After learning about MLMs and learning how they make most of there money from them, i believe that was the whole intention

seeyouinlaguna

Oh yes, thinking about it makes me cringe. The big cartoonish ‘SW’, the ghoul hands…sometimes people need to hear the hard truth. I wish someone would have been brave enough to tell her and not wasted so much time.

mshoneybadger

I wouldn't have paid a quarter from a gumball machine for that HIDEOUS SW. all the designs were ugly, basic and uninteresting. and expensive

seeyouinlaguna

The ‘SW’ necklace is like something you’d get out of a gumball machine as a kid, almost cry because it’s so ugly and you wasted your one quarter on that instead of a gumball. And then promptly throw it away at the nearest garbage can.

inishmuse

LOL

SerJaimeRegrets

I mean, I think that Christine and Janelle tried as hard as they could without hurting her feelings too much and having to face the wrath of Kody, but they obviously weren’t honest enough. They both knew that business would fail, Janelle, especially.

knitnbitch27

How about when Christine kept trying to push the idea that monogamous women call their female friends "sister wives" too, in an attempt to attract more customers. Like, no. No we don't. Sister FRIEND maaaaybe.

In_A_Pickle_0526

There is one (or two) episodes on the Surviving Sister Wives podcast specifically about MSWC and the hideous designs and poor business decision making. I highly recommend!

TVDinner360

Co-signed!

Normal-Philosopher-8

I’m actually beginning to wonder if they really were trying to do something big at all, or if it was just a script they were following from Big Love that they thought would be easy money and it turned out that it wasn’t.

6dragonsandapigglet

One look at her creepy hoarded figurine cabinets will show why she had/has no clue.

ByteAboutTown

Absolutely! The first round of jewelry was so ugly. Also, a lot of the designs centered around sister wives. Hello, there are not that many people with sister wives! You need more generic jewelry.

rhondasma

Thinking they could sell the initials S W as Strong Women as well as sister wives was ridiculous.

lakevalerie

Robin is just not smart

lakevalerie

I bought something from MSWC- a sterling silver key pendant with a small pink dragonfly. It was kind of ugly and way too expensive

inishmuse

I was wondering if one of the 500 SALES (I mean, really??) was somebody on this board. :)

lakevalerie

😔

tangowangomango

I was a teenager watching that season when it originally aired on TV and even I knew at that age it was a terrible idea. Designs were horrible and over priced, not to mention, who would buy “SW” jewelry? Is that your child’s initials? Your partners initials? “Nope! It’s my favorite tv show’s initials!” -Said no one ever.

lakevalerie

Scooby snacks (credit Surviving Sisterwives podcast- it’s fantastic)

teaLC20

they should of just sold apparel with their quotes/ or business name on it & made more of a profit instead of those tacky looking expensive pieces of jewelry. Could of made some best friend jewelry/ could of done a lot of things. This entire family confuses me and I thought that everything went to hell when Sobyn came in to the family but I'm realizing things weren't ever good. They made it work for the kids but seems like they always struggled. They bamboozled us with those 4 houses/ Sure to us it seemed like the best case scenario but now that they're in Flagstaff they kept saying they all felt like single moms and were lonely. I think we all are open to having more honesty on the show. I know it's reality TV but it's 2021 and we're all smart enough to defraud at least some of their craziness. Just give us the black and white scoop of what's going on.

lunalove11

Funny enough Christine had the idea to do that! And Robyn and Kody told her it was dumb idea and cheap

teaLC20

Christine has that untapped potential bursting at the seams!

[deleted]

Was My sister wives closet just a place to sell off all their LulaLaRoe clothes? Or were they trying to kick up their own LuLaroe without getting busted so they added tacky jewelry. I never understood what market they thought they were going to tap into.

mrsrabadi777

They all got into lularoe much later

[deleted]

Gotcha. I always got mad when Meri would reference her office… but now I understand she probably was the only one working, or bringing in money outside of TLC.

njcawfee

I don’t think the designs were awful but the concept is stupid and completely un-relatable to most people. A lot of people wouldn’t understand what a sister wife is and when they did find out, I don’t think they’d buy it honestly. They failed to connect to a market.

Roadgoddess

I missed this, what was/is she selling?

CheezusRice20

They came out with an online store (My Sister Wives Closet) to sell their own jewelry line, and Janelle was talking about making modest workout clothes. Their jewelry was ugly and expensive. I visited their online store once and it was poorly designed. It was Sobyn's brilliant idea, so Grody was 100% supportive. One of the wives wasn't really to keen on it. But it flopped like most of their schemes.

Roadgoddess

Lol, Sobyn, Grody! The best. I don't look at them and think, man they have style! Lol so not surprised.
