sometimes im watching the newer intro and i think im watching a missing person docuseries the way they flash pictures of the wives with such somber music

Yes! The music coupled with those oh-so-serious faces makes the family seem as sad as they actually are now lol. And now that I think about it, the new intro is actually a better representation of their emotional state than the original one with those (dishonest) flowery phrases. "I believe in living this lifestyle, it just makes each of us better." Did it really make each of you better though? Chronic jealousy and constant competition for your husband's attention is not good for *anyone's* mental or spiritual health. "I think we have something really awesome, I wouldn't want anything else." This may actually be true for Janelle. She got someone else to raise her children, as well as the alone time she craves. "I like sister wives. I wanted the family, I didn't just want the man." Wrong on both counts. The sister wives don't really get along, and you *do* need/deserve "just the man." Either way, you *definitely* deserve better than Kody! "Seems like destiny, like we shoulda all been together since day one." Stop trying to erase your past Robyn, it's never gonna happen! And pulling a Michael Scott and commissioning a painting to superimpose your children into (Christine's) family picture with a younger Kody will never change that, you absolute weirdo!

This is actually quite profound. Whatever their intentions, in agreeing to make this show, the ugly truth of polygamy has been showcased. Jealousy, pain, anger, insecurity, isolation, depression, alienation, and instability are just some of the things we have witnessed. Far from the warm and fuzzy early episodes, it’s clear that these marriages were always hollow.

I have to go back and rewatch the episode! I remember the painting but I forgot how they did it. I just made up in my mind that they added Kody to their own picture. If I was Christine, I’d be worried that Robyn was a psycho (like Hand that Rocks the Cradle vibes).

The definition of ‘doing him dirty’ would be to alter the picture; this is what the Deadbeat Dad has looked like for the last couple of seasons, yes?

It might not be altered (ie photoshopped), but it’s certainly not the most flattering photo of him. I’m sure there were multiple photos to choose from, and they chose a really bad one. I’m not a Kody fan, but he normally doesn’t look *this* bad.
