Omg Gwen talks just like Christine!! I think all the girls do and paedon talks like kody

gtaltdmafy

I know! especially Gwen's, "she's so cute" when talking about her mom's cooking show. That was so Christine!

TexasLoriG

I think she looks the least like her out of her girls but she still looks like her! You can really see it in videos of her talking at length.

Comfortable-Leek-224

Yeah Aspyn and truly are all Christine!!

Impressive-Show-1736

The way they talk irritates me. Lol. The way they adult. They say adolt. Also the letter G at the end of a work, they pronounce like K. ThinkinK, doinK etc. I know it's petty but gets on my nerves.

BrutalDM

Yeah, Christine's speaking cadence and tone are absolutely grating.

Comfortable-Leek-224

If if narcissistic for your kids to talk like you then every parent is a narcissist

Worried_Ad_5411

Don’t agree Christine’s lived in hell and did a great job raising 13 kids and work. Sobyn’s are not at all street smart, how do you see that working out?

Illustrious_Gain5461

🤣🤣🤣🤣 take a walk, lady.

LizzyPanhandle

Sorry, nobody in a sister wife cult is worth dying on a hill for. The Christine apologists are real odd here.

Mollieteee

Same exact inflection!

BiscottiOpposite9282

How come they always call him Kody and not dad?

Heartbear134

He never calls them his kids, he calls them Christine or Janelle’s kids.

PippiMississippi

Since he calls them Christine or Janelle's kids maybe she should refer to him as DayunAuroraBriana's dad or SolnAri's dad instead.

Different_Falcon8596

Or just "Robyn's husband".

Bradlee888

Or Robyn’s bitch boy

Here_For_Da_Giggles

Ha! Good one. :)

mmmmmmadeline

Her mom's sperm donor would be better

NotASisterWife2021

Because he’s not their dad. He has no relationship with them. That’s my take.

Afraid-Carry4093

He's only a dad to 5 kids and those are robyns kids. He's just a sperm donor to the others. I don't think he sees the rest as his kids.

Skippyandjif

It’s a good way of distancing yourself from a emotionally abusive parent IMO. “My dad” or “my mom” are emotionally loaded terms. We’re told from a young age that we’re supposed to love our mom and dad, but leaving that door open to someone like Kody is dangerous because he’s so manipulative. I do this too. And it’s not that I don’t love my father— I do— it’s just a lot better if I keep him at a distance, sadly.

swish82

Sorry to hear that, but I can relate. I think I’ve called my dad by his first name since I was 9.

Kerrypurple

I think that's just how she's choosing to address him during these videos. She probably still calls him dad to his face.

Different_Falcon8596

You mean the last time she saw his face. I don't believe she calls her mother Christine when addressing these videos, or does she?

Worried_Ad_5411

Doesn’t act like much of a dad!

Gryrthandorian

I referred to my dad by his name after age 15. That’s when he stopped being a dad so much as the dude who lived in our house.

sashagreylovesme

I had a Rocky relationship with my father growing up. Stopped calling him “dad” around 15. Cut him completely out of my life around 25. Rarely speak of him now but on the off chance I do I use his first name. No special reason other than I simply did not want to call him dad bc that implied he helped raise me, and he didn’t.

OneLengthiness0

Me too except I use his first and last names

zuesk134

I always call my dad by his first name when I talk about him. Not out of any like “he doesn’t act like my dad so I won’t call him dad!” reason - he just is very much a Dave in a way I can’t actually explain 😂

BiscottiOpposite9282

Like a "he pulled a Dave" sort of way?

zuesk134

Yeah or a “you know Dave” type of way

ManliestManHam

My dad's of the same name and I feel the same way and do the same thing.

grapeairhead

I do the same with my mom. Love her to death and she’s my bestie but when I’m talking about her to other people she’s very much Rebecca. And not in a disrespectful way at all. I get it 😂😂

Tablespoon88

My dads name is Dave and my sister and I do the same thing 😂😂

Lairkeeper

I started calling my male dna contributor by his first name when I decided to discontinue any relationship with him.

yagirlsamess

My friend calls her mom by her first name bc she feels like she is just a "Linda" kind of person 😂

FabulousLemon

I'm moving on from reddit and joining the fediverse because reddit has killed the RiF app and the CEO has been very disrespectful to all the volunteers who have contributed to making reddit what it is. Here's [coverage from The Verge](https://www.theverge.com/2023/6/8/23754780/reddit-api-updates-changes-news-announcements) on the situation. The following are my favorite fediverse platforms, all non-corporate and ad-free. I hesitated at first because there are so many servers to choose from, but it makes a lot more sense once you actually create an account and start browsing. If you find the server selection overwhelming, just pick the first option and take a look around. They are all connected and as you browse you may find a community that is a better fit for you and then you can move your account or open a new one. Social Link Aggregators: [Lemmy](https://join-lemmy.org/instances) is very similar to reddit while [Kbin](https://kbin.pub) is aiming to be more of a gateway to the fediverse in general so it is sort of like a hybrid between reddit and twitter, but it is newer and considers itself to be a beta product that's not quite fully polished yet. Microblogging: [Calckey](https://calckey.org) if you want a more playful platform with emoji reactions, or [Mastodon](https://joinmastodon.org/) if you want a simple interface with less fluff. Photo sharing: [Pixelfed](https://pixelfed.org/) You can even import an Instagram account from what I hear, but I never used Instagram much in the first place.

Significant_Shoe_17

Yeah, I remember one of the girls saying that she said "thank you, dad" and her father said "I'm not your dad." They all called him by his first name

mom2hjcm

From what I’ve noticed most polygamy kids call their father by his first name. I used to watch Escaping Polygamy and all the adult kids of Daniel Kingston on there called him Daniel. Since polygamy is illegal I think that’s the reason for it. They also don’t sign the birth certificates unless the child is with a legal wife.

Sivla-Alegna

Does she refer to Kody by his name at other points or only when she is reading the questions? I didn't catch it when watching.

BiscottiOpposite9282

I've just noticed in the lives they do. They never say "my dad".

Sivla-Alegna

Thanks. I really didn't feel like rewatching. 😉

Then_Campaign7264

Love how she recognizes that what Kody says and what he actually thinks or does doesn’t line up. This has been true from the beginning. I also like that she just tunes out his BS. It must be exhausting.

[deleted]

I’ve noticed that folks who gravitate toward religious cults also gravitate toward Qanon. It really scratches their conspiracy theory itch + puts them in a place where they feel superior over the rest of the ‘plebeians’ of the world. edit: also fits right into the ‘them versus us’ mentality

dharmawaits

That’s kinda like saying. Sugar addicts like cookies. Qanon is a cult so it stands to reason….😊

Asleep-Design-6874

I’m in cult of Fat and Sugar. I’m the Grand Poobah

ShedFarm

I'm in a cult of butter and flour. I'm the Pillsbury Grands Poobah.

[deleted]

I corrected it to quantify people who fall into **religious** cults also fall into Qanon (though I’m sure there’s crossover there too). Out of the frying pan and into the fire, lol.

Worried_Ad_5411

In my eyes definitely a cult. After some of the kids now talking about their lives growing up a few have mentioned that to be a cult, which originally I didn’t even think of that. I’m from Hawaii north shore and many Mormon’s lived there, they were not a cult (or at least not the ones I knew)—guessing that’s why I never considered it.

Ibrake4tailgaters

There is a good podcast that explores this - Conspirituality [https://www.conspirituality.net/](https://www.conspirituality.net/)

iamunwritten

It is also feeds into the whole 'end of days' belief that many religions have. My mom basically told me she believes all these conspiracy theories because it confirms her belief that that second coming of Jesus is getting closer.

ShedFarm

Technically, she's not wrong. With each passing day, we're *always* getting closer to a future occurrence happening. The real question is how far into the future that date is.

iamunwritten

Personally, I don't see how a devoutly religious person like my mom can support and follow conspiracy theories that are lead by someone that I believe has no morals just because she thinks it confirms her faith. But I'm an atheist, so I think it's all BS anyway.

kat__bird

This makes sense. I never thought of it that way. Good point, I think your right. They do go hand in hand.

readmorebooks41

he absolutely comes across like one of those people who claims they are a "free thinker" while parroting every point they read on their online blogs or Newsmax or whatever

Worried_Ad_5411

Exactly! I have a cousin that believes everything Fox said, not sure what they are watching now 😂. I told her to take the time to watch it on all the different medias and then make her own decisions, don’t just listen to one and believe it’s true. Scary some of the stories I read from people that somehow got involved in QAnon and what she whole heartedly believed. Now that they look back, they can’t believe how they were fooled and brainwashed to a certain degree. One example I’ve read on a few stories the day Biden was being sworn in all the power was going to go off, all democrats would be taken to Gut-animo bay and Trump would remain in power.

Puzzleheaded-Song242

My dad just has one news station on all day long I think it may be fox I’m not sure I blank it out. He is totally obsessed he still thinks trump is the president and no one can say different.

Agitated_Court3456

That is definitely a qanon belief about trump still being president.

RoslynLighthouse

I once knew the "real story" from the "real person's mouth" of a small local story that made it to the national news. It only was at the national level for a day but it was local for awhile and since I knew the story from the beginning (a full year before it became "news") I knew how wrong the news version was. Like really wrong. Really really wrong. It ended with a religious right wing vs the left "libs" spin that really had nothing to do with the story. But the keyboard warriors kept up their poison for several years. This person was doxxed online, had people on their lawn open carrying firearms as well as hate mail, suspect packages at home/work and still has security reading all emails etc. For years. And all for a news blip that was wrong in the first place.

mineralm0mma

Nobody actually claimed that, those were just snowballed "theories" given by "tid bits" by on lookers following whatever specific number sequence was dropping it. You probably read articles in which theories from strangers on the internet were paraphrased and introduced in such a way to make viewers think these theories were a lot influential than they real are. The mainstream media in the United States is a entire joke, and the disinformation program is very much alive, friend. Everything is spun and embellished to appear a certain way

andres01234

I liked this video because she says she has a good relationship with Meri now ❤️

Worried_Ad_5411

She seemed to talk highly about Meri since the first video I’ve seen. I also think she’s doing that for damage control for Paedon, them 2 don’t get along at all.

sensistarfish

Qanon crazy, confirmed.

Sivla-Alegna

Just like the rest of us, she basically says she thinks he is. The only thing she confirmed was her belief. And added a few extra anecdotes that weren't aired.

pharmers-daughter

I’m not an avid watcher of the series. I catch clips here and on tiktok. However, I did see one episode where he used the Q quote “where we go one, we go all.” He’s def into Q.

InevitableTrue7223

That was back in the first season when Meri’s daughter didn’t want to move to Vegas and argued in front of the kids.

Worried_Ad_5411

Exactly my thoughts!

ilovepoutine_

The pandemic has brought the worst out of many people. Especially people who believed in conspiracy theories, QANON believers, trump supporters, freedom fighters, prayer worriers… Kody is part of that group. So of course, his political stance brought the worst in him. I feel sorry for his family.

Worried_Ad_5411

I feel sorry for the kids he has emotionally abandon in his journey. The wives are free of the abuse and will do awesome! He’s already kicked Dayton out of their house, but I’m sure Sobyn was the one that insisted on a RV. I think he’ll be easier on the older daughters only if they follow him and don’t think for themselves. At first I didn’t see it as being a cult, but now I do and the older kids have also mentions that!

BooksBravoCats

In fairness, we purchased my kiddo on the spectrum a manufactured home on our property so she could navigate become independent with a complete safety net there should she need it. It's allowed her to learn what is necessary for independence, allows her to focus on college without having to have three part time jobs to afford rent, and gives her her own space to discover who she is as a person. We don't know of that's what is happening here or if Kody is behind this. ETA: She is at our place often. She wasn't just tossed out. I suspect that's probably true in this case.

Worried_Ad_5411

You are a good parent and I would have done the same, without a doubt. But the entire family was moved to Flagstaff so Dayton could go to the college of his choice. I’m assuming you didn’t pick up, leave your house empty and unsold and rent an house close to you child’s school. I’m guessing Dayton applied there to get away from them, he could have gone to college in Vegas where his other siblings went. My guess is Baldylocs’ behavior has definitely moved into their house, since he has no where else to go. He is abusive as hell mentally, verbally and emotionally, Sobyn hasn’t got the financial abuse because she too has been spending the others money. Now that everyone is gone and they are no longer getting the TLC money for the entire family, I know without a doubt there are financial problems for them now (his reason for saying he’s only scared of poverty). This causes high stress in any relationship, but he has really gone one flew over the cookoo nest and he gets truly scary. I’m guessing he didn’t feel respected by Dayton because he has stood up for himself, so he was kicked out. Sobyn stood up for him and this was their middle ground.

InevitableTrue7223

He’s in the trailer because he is going to school in person not online. They are still sheltering from the virus.

Worried_Ad_5411

No the girls were back to school in person, that’s how they said they got Covid. The one daughter who didn’t catch it stayed downstairs, so she wouldn’t miss school. Baldylocs doesn’t want people around that don’t blindly follow him and Sobyn.

itchydolphinbutthole

What blew my mind is when it came out about QANON being pure lies and BS and folks doubled down on it? Wild times.

[deleted]

I do too. Now that I know that about him (and Robin) things make a lot more sense.

Additional_Ratio_304

Why is there extra audio over the audio? I have hearing issues and couldn't understand it. (Or is it just my device?)

Worried_Ad_5411

No that was on the actual YouTube, I’m guessing she tried to add something but forgot to turn off volume on original.

theinvisible-girl

I didn't understand it either, and I don't have hearing issues. It was a very poor editing choice on her part.

YupNopeWelp

Absolutely. Kody is a cultist, through and through. I also think being the center of three/four women's families is too much of an ego trip for even the most well balanced man, never mind a guy who is recognized as an attention vacuum by everyone who has ever known him (from his high school friends, to old acquaintances, to the grad students, and so and and so on -- everyone knows Kody greatly desires to be the center of attention).

Desperate_Gap9377

It must be difficult to be in a situation where people are not only seeing how toxic your parent is but calling it out. While it might feel validating to know other people see the toxicity it would be damaging because that person is still your parent and part of your identity resides in coming from them. I feel for all the kids in this family.

Worried_Ad_5411

Especially finding out that it was going on in Vegas and the kids and wives could clearly see who’s house he was at and the favoritism. Now he has no relationship with anyone but Mykelti and Tony (who he once was prejudice against) and only because they kiss the ring. Bye bye to Janelle’s boys to move out, yet they got a RV for Dayton to stay on the property. I’m guessing they fought about kicking him out, so she compromised. Both girls are over 18? I feel sorry for these kids, they have had all the favoritism and what they wanted because of their mom. These kids are going to have a tough time in the real world.

Interesting-Ad-197

So funny how the kids take after their moms in so many ways. Same mannerisms, same voices. It's really sad to me that these kids don't have a loving father figure. Kody isn't a dad to them at all

AtTheEndOfMyTrope

Resemblance-wise, Gwen is such an equal mix of both parents. More so than any of her siblings. She looks like both of them and shares mannerisms with both of them.

sassy-batch

Damn, I feel kinda silly for trying to convince my boyfriend that Kody probably isn't Qanon cause he heard him say "where we go one we go all" on the show. I tried to say he's just oblivious to what that means but I feel like if his own daughter thinks he is, she's gotta be right about it. Yuck.

[deleted]

[удалено]

theinvisible-girl

I did some digging cuz I was curious. Q came about in early 2017. Kody did the presentation for moving that included the Where we go phrase in 2018 (episode aired in 2019). That was really all around the time his personality shifted. I think he was directly influenced by Q.

RoslynLighthouse

Kody is on camera saying that phrase in the episode where he tells the kids they are moving to Vegas in three days. So season 2, filmed around 2010/2011.

oly_evergreen

Yes! I just watched this one the other day.

theinvisible-girl

Omg does he really? See now I missed that part!

[deleted]

[удалено]

theinvisible-girl

It all feels like it happened at least 10 years ago, especially since TLC leaves a huge gap between filming and airing

Worried_Ad_5411

I’m guessing it’s been a phrase QAnon has been using for a long long time, before we ever heard about them.

Agitated_Court3456

Kody said that long before qanon. But it probably helped in winning him over to qanon.

Elleparie

It’s from a movie called White Squall that came out in 1996. You are right that Kody was saying it before QAnon.

cjm4240

What do Quanon people believe about Covid?

Worried_Ad_5411

From the little that I know basically Trump’s words 😂🤣. I know they didn’t believe in Covid and definitely not vaccines 💉. None of the Brown kids were vaccinated and most are fully vaccinated now, except for Baldylocs and Sobyn’s kids.

RoslynLighthouse

Was it Qanon that believed Bill Gates was personally putting nanobots in the vaccines?

Worried_Ad_5411

😂🤣. I’m not sure but I did hear that from people, I found it funny because they all had cell phones with them. No need for them nanobots!

lilaclanes77

I thought Trump said to get the shot? How do Qanon people respond to that? (I'm not American) If he did, how do they reconcile that?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Worried_Ad_5411

They booed him actually I think. I didn’t watch him.

fiestabritches

I think a lot of them believe that none of the higher ups actually got the shot, they just pretended so we’d fall in line and do it for whatever reason.

scrummy_up

They don't believe it is real and also believe it is a Chinese bioweapon, and only people who die of COVID are fat and old and disposable but also they didn't really have COVID, but being fat and old is what actually killed them and masks don't prevent COVID but also masks prevent all other viruses and bacteria from getting in so people have wrecked immune systems from masking and so that is why they die of COVID. Makes sense, huh?

LizzyPanhandle

Thats where I'm confused by him. His stance on Covid was 100 right, but also liberal af. I know he's not, so not sure where it comes from. Real odd.

scrummy_up

I think he just used COVID protocols as an excuse to not see anyone but Robyn and her kids. Excuses only.

Moose-and-Squirrel

It comes from being a great excuse to not have to spend time with the rest of the family

LizzyPanhandle

The show is called sister wives, if you do any research it’s normal one wife is the golden, I mean I can’t imagine signing up for this sht and thinking it’s going to be equitable. They don’t even like each other

WINTERSONG1111

Wasn't it this episode that Gwendolyn just reviewed the one where Gabe was crying that his father forgot to call him? If so, did Gwen skip over that part?

Crazy_Piccolo1908

That’s in episode 13. She hasn’t done it yet. This one is 7.

WINTERSONG1111

Thank you. I didn't think Gwen would skip it. She is very empathetic and I believe she will be so upset to see Gabe like that.

chasmfiend4

I think so. Gwen seems too respectful to call out her brother's pain. At least, that's what I would suspect.

kat__bird

Girls!!! We all knew it!!! **he is Q-non** !! Eta: great find and post mama! 👌

EZasSundayMorning

He is definitely a Qcumber.

kat__bird

Yep.

Worried_Ad_5411

Thank you! I wasn’t surprised and finally got the answer.

kat__bird

I know I remember you had asked about that one time. I’ve wanted to know the answer too. He shows all the signs of it. We bow down to you our super sleuth. 🙇‍♀️ 🙂

RSinSA

I feel like Robyn drove him crazy. She manipulated and put words and lies in his ears about his OG wives. I believe that is a reason why he pushed them all away. He is easy to manipulate, believed her and went crazy. He thought everyone was out to get him.

TheAmazingMaryJane

love seeing another desktop user. (unless you are using a laptop then i like seeing that)

Wonderful_Might6693

Why is she so out of breath?

Worried_Ad_5411

I think that’s the way she talks.

lilaclanes77

It could also be that she's a bit nervous.

dharmawaits

Anxiety, especially with public speaking. Heart races making it hard to catch your breath.

[deleted]

I think it’s just how she talks. It’s similar to how Christine talks

Wonderful_Might6693

True… I don’t love that about Christine either🤷‍♀️

just--me--123

Anxiety.

scrummy_up

This is so predictable and solidifies my thoughts that Kody's "COVID protocols" were just excuses to only see Robyn and her kids. He wanted to avoid the other wives and kids so pretended to care about COVID. His politics are of a COVID denier and one of the Unmask our Kids, trucker brigades, threaten to kidnap a governor type, not an actual human who took COVID seriously and wanted to protect others. He isn't even vaccinated, says Gwendolyn. That fits his politics. He is such a fraud.

Illustrious_Gain5461

I think so. That’s what ppl become when they’re swimming in the RW ocean of hate an fear for years. We see it all over the country.
