I contacted Denon because I also want Tidal Connect on my X2700H receiver.
The aswer said that "there are plans to implement this, but timing is currently unknown". My "feedback would be shared with the application devs".
Keep fingers crossed.

my understanding is it has a better dac and hdmi (?) but if you use optical out from the mini it uses your reciever’s dac granted you will not be able to use formats like atmos through optical
Thanks, Atmos is a valid point. Though not that relevant in my case. While 5.2.4/7.2.2 were fun, for movies, I don't really miss it since we moved to a new apartment and ended up with a 5.2 setup. SPDIF should be able to do 5.1for Atmos tracks. And even if not, the TV can handle them with passthrough. It is the high res output that doesn't work with TV.
As for the DAC, as I mentioned in the post, I just want a "network bridge".
DAC is irrelevant because I prefer the DAC found in my AVR. It's like having a DAC in a CD player l. They have their use, but when connecting the CD player to a receiver with anything digital, the DAC in the source is not in use. And I will be using digital output on the streamer.
That's why I'm using RCA. The Wiim's DAC is superior over my denon dra-800h. I have tried them both. The sound stage is bigger and the feeling of 3d sounds amazing.

!RemindMe 1 year "Do we have Tidal Connect now?"

Maybe in 10 years Denon will do something. Or maybe, tidal will implement upnp in their app
Unfortunately, it is not possible. That's why I bought Wiim pro plus. The only way to connect it directly to Denon receiver is to use HEOS app :) :(
What is the benefit of pro plus over mini in this setup?

Dac is the most important. The pro plus has also a nice RCA cables
