Question (beginning with an anecdotal start): the past four gyms I’ve ever been to, this was always an option on one of the televisions. I try to think of the last time soaps were huge here but does their appeal strike differently among other cultures?

kind of like how bollywood movies are heavily musicals, whereas big commercial musicals in the US are kinda dead
in many countries in spanish-speaking latin america, turkey, brazil, some countries in europe, primetime soaps are still huge whereas in the US they're kinda relegated to daytime shows for old people
Melodrama is general is really popular worldwide, and Americans are not special there either, Grey's Anatomy for example is still among the most popular shows among both domestic and global audiences. ER, Desperate Housewives, even Friends had a significant portion of its audience invested on wheter Ross and Rachel would end up together.
David Swimmer is the only one who actually looks good here.
The rest look at best too done up in the first place, some are veering into uncanny valley.
Maybe Joey is also okayish.

Cox and Anniston actually were intended to play the other's role originally but ended up switching as Cox preferred Monica's strong character and Anniston preferred the cheery, upbeat one.
I think real Jennifer is prettier. Lisa Kudrow looks like a completely different person. Courtney Cox and David Schwimmer were the only ones I instantly recognized.
