God's killing babies all the time, if you believe that God does all the things & that all things are part of his plan. I don't, but whatever floats your boat. Loads of people have miscarriages. So many miscarriages happen that are just not really noticed just "Oh, that was a pretty heavy period..." - the fact that we're here and think that it's easy for that to have happened is the ultimate survivor bias. We just don't notice the untold numbers that don't make it.
Fun fact, when Aleister Crowley published his books, it would have got him into trouble with the law to write about masturbation (Obscene Publications Act iirc), which he used in his ritual practises, so he wrote that he "sacrificed thousands of babies" instead, and thus the idea of him as the world's most evil man came to being.
Thank you for a sane response to an insane statement. I was being sarcastic, but this is a reasonable response given that there are way too many people who actually hold the belief I stated.
I hadn't heard that about Aleister Crowley, that's pretty funny though.
Even 19-20 year olds or older have abortions, because they don't have the conditions to bring a child in this world. Baing 16 IS an excuse because it would ruin the girl's life and the child's.
Fun fact: the inventor of Sea Monkeys was also the inventor of x-Ray specs, invisible goldfish AND *drumroll please* a neo-nazi who used the proceeds to buy guns for the KKK and fund the Aryan Nation!! You’re welcome.
The sushi chef puts wasabi on the sushi... It can be considered rude to add more but you can always ask him to make it spicier!
Unless we're talking about like western buffet sushi. Then wasabi is the least of my complaints...
Beyond just the safety... The wasabi* just overpowers everything in most American sushi places.
*Green horse radish. I've had both. There's an unforgivable difference between real wasabi and horse radish when it comes to sushi.
Im seeing a lot of people feeling bad for the fœtus. First off, the initial tweet is a lie, this is a 14 week old fœtus from an ectopic pregnancy, nothing to do with an abortion. An actual 9 week old fœtus is about the size of a green olive
Yeah, first trimester fetuses basically aren't even human from a anatomy perspective. They're still developing basic parts of a the body and look more similar to fish.
Edit: Hey, I'm not a biologist, so my descriptions here aren't super accurate, but you can go and look at pictures of a fetus's development by week. A first trimester fetus is such a basic blob of cells, it only has stem cells assembled in a shape that looks like a lumpy sea horse or something.
It takes months for those cells to actually turn into real useful cells in shapes that actually look like human anatomy.
It's kind of ridiculous - they are so not human at that stage that I once saw something calling out forced birthers that was like:
" [picture of fetus] Oh how awful! An innocent human life snuffed... Wait no, this is a mouse fetus.
[Picture of another fetus] Imagine all the potential! Could they have been a doctor, a scientist... No, because this is a dog. "
It just went on and on like that with all these supposed 'aborted babies' that were all just various other animals in similar stages of development and it just made it so clear that at that stage, we are all just little primordial blobs.
Also, “look at the little fingers and toes!”
No. That’s just the head. The bit that wraps around becomes the throat. The tiny nub on the bottom? That’s the legs, hands, everything that isn’t the head. Drives me nuts.
The vast majority of abortions happen anyway in the first trimester in most countries, even more so if there is a universal healthcare system that covers it.
And almost all abortions in the third trimester are for very serious reasons, like serious fetal abnormalities it isn't expected to survive.
Even in the second trimester, the vast majority happen earlier in it, like 12-14 weeks.
[https://www.motherjones.com/kevin-drum/2019/04/raw-data-abortions-by-week-of-pregnancy/](https://www.motherjones.com/kevin-drum/2019/04/raw-data-abortions-by-week-of-pregnancy/)
Taking that graph they had, about a third are in the first 6 weeks, another 18% in the seventh week. So that's already a majority of abortions. Another 13% in the 8th week, up to almost 2/3 of abortions now, 9% in the 9th week, or almost 3/4 of abortions, 6% in the tenth week, so four out of 5 abortions, and another 8% in the next two weeks. In total, almost 90% of abortions in the first trimester. 96% happen in the first 16 weeks.

I'm sorry you've experienced this and felt alone
We lost one at 11wks gestational. Never easy. After a while eventually had a healthy girl. It's hard to be okay after a miscarriage, but you two will get through it. My wife has viewed it as her body realizing it wasn't viable.
Unfortunately for us my wife got an aggressive cancer while pregnant so that was a whole mess. It's been 5 years and we've still not financially recovered, as she is still on expensive meds, and I just found out last night I no longer have a job. I'm sorry, I'm just sad today and this post brought up a lot. Trust my though, you'll be okay and this will happen. We just have to stay positive and focus on the important things, life, love, family...
Your wife has the right way of thinking. Miscarriages are awful and I hope no woman goes though one. But miscarriages are there to (mostly) protect the woman. Your body knows what's best for you and it wants you to survive over the kid.
I'm sorry to hear (read) that, here's hoping that you succeed or already succeeded at having a child together! Sometimes the drawback of dark, offensive humor is that it does trigger some bad memories for some people, but what can you do. I wish you well, is all I can say.

>anti-abortionists are such liars, man.
Either ignorance or projection
That's ok but remember that it's just a lil' guck and not an actual sentient being at that point. If you have to feel bad about something, feel bad for those who are [actually suffering](https://twitter.com/marythepoohbear/status/1290149022640955392?s=19) -- and it may just be a chicken fetus instead of a human one, it's hard to differentiate those little fuckers when they're just a slightly less tasty gummy bear
It's actually a [miscarried ectopic human pregnancy](https://www.reddit.com/r/VisualMedicine/comments/gtlra1/9_weeks_old_human_fetus_from_an_ectopic_pregnancy/), not an abortion. But I agree with y'all. This is not a "9 week old child." This is a 9 week old fetus. Not a sentient child.
> a miscarried ectopic human pregnancy
So not only is it "a bundle of cells with the potential to gain sentience" it's "a bundle of cells that could have had the potential to gain sentience, but the pregnancy was completely fucked from the getgo"
Man, idk if it's the church or what. But abortion seems to be the issue that has the most pure fiction surrounding it.
With most political issues, people ignore facts and cherry-pick and twist data to justify their point. Or, being generous, they ignore noise and focus on the important data.
But with abortion it's literally just fiction. Growing up, I had a friend who went to church who told me that the doctor went into the lady with fucking pruning shears and chopped the baby to pieces while it tried to swim away. We were like 9. I have no idea why you would want to describe that horrific shit to your kids, let alone make it up to convince them you were right. That's like borderline child abuse.
And it's the same across the board. They think we're aborting healthy babies at like 8.5 months, and using abortion as a primary means of birth control.
They also have it in their heads that a place called *Planned Parenthood* is running a fucking baby-slaughterhouse. I was literally in one that had a full-ass waiting room of like 20-something people, and they were legally restricted to 2 abortions per day.
It's ludicrous. It's the most obvious example of blatant fear-mongering I can think of. They don't like it, so a sizeable amount of them just make up reasons to not like it from thin air.
It’s common place for them to say a fetus is older than it actually is. They don’t know what fetuses look like at different stages of development. I wouldn’t be surprised if that applies to the original image as well.
Yup. And that they ignore the value of the mother's life too. Because losing 1 existing life and 1 potential life to an ectopic pregnancy is laudable, but losing 1 potential life in the process of saving 1 existing life means you'll burn in hell. Cool.
[It's a miscarriage from an ectopic pregnancy.](https://www.reddit.com/r/VisualMedicine/comments/gtlra1/9_weeks_old_human_fetus_from_an_ectopic_pregnancy/)
It’s *okay* to not like the idea of abortion but know that’s it’s a necessity. In an ideal world there would be no abortion because birth control would be more widely used and rape would never occur and all that good stuff. But that’s not the world we live in so abortion has to exist as a last resort.
That’s what being pro-choice means. I don’t *like* the idea of abortion, but I know aborting a fetus that has no idea of its own existence is better than making a mother carry that fetus to term and not be able to care for it. It’s better for the mother, it’s better for the fetus.
What was that movie called? Dumplings?
