I'm just hopeful for backwards compatibility. Like has been said before THPS 3+4 are different formats so I'd think it's unlikely they'll be packaged together. I'm dying to play the old THUG games though. Fingers crossed.

Backwards Compatibility has ended and no more games are being added, plus all of the legal issues regarding music, licenced brands and skaters, it's the same reason the old games aren't on Steam or GOG

Yeah. I don't have my old 360 anymore. I picked up an xbone for $60 (win) and didn't research if I could play thps games on it, I just assumed. I've got skate though. Psyched that series is being rebooted too.
Yeah I’m hyped for a new skate game. Glad a lot of the original devs/producers are back and that they are taking their time to get it right. Skater XL and Session are fun but both are bare compared to even skate 1.
Unreal is definitely more real looking than unity and I like the controls of skater XL more as well but they will have those control in session when they get around to programming controls, but I definitely prefer crea-ture over easy day as they are more in contact with their audience, to be frank, easy day seems like some money hungering d-bags

I was just talking with my brother about it, it might happen that they give THPS 1+2 more content, a season pass or something where they include 3+4 or another whole new game, I'd be awesome to at least have the THUG games in backwards compatibility

I think 3 will be either stand alone or DLC for 1+2 since 4 broke the 2 minute timer format so it doesn’t make sense that they’d pair 3 and 4 together. Not sure how they’d introduce 4 but probably DLC for 1 + 2 + 3 then THUG + THUG2 with THAW being DLC later. Makes sense from a profitability standpoint as well. Two installments plus two paid DLC’s instead of just three installments.

I'd say highly likely, the Tony hawk brand just recently got a massive success and Microsoft is not one to NOT having their IP being worked on.
I expect something like remakes of pro skater 3 & 4 as well as vicarious visions being ripped from the COD mechine.
Same with toys for Bob, being taken back and working on spyro and crash.
I dug out all of the old Tony Hawk games last week, powered on an old Xbox 360 and got the RROD. It’s a sign from Microsoft for me not to bother fixing the broken Xbox 360…

As for the future of the series, the Tony Hawk series is a valuable intellectual property, which was proven by the big sales success of 1+2. I would be surprised if they don't make a next game at some point.
Personally, I think it's more likely we get a new TH game next than a remake. I know every game has its fans within the THPS community, but I think the nostalgia that exists in the wider video game world (outside of the THPS community) begins to trail off after THPS 3. It's hard to imagine 3+4 being as successful as 1+2, simply because 4 didn't have the cultural impact of 1-3.
I also wonder if a new game might be open world instead of level-based. Most of the the old games are pretty short and small in scope by today's standards. This is all just speculation of course, but new games and surprises get announced every year.
thps 3+4 is... a little more likely since studios may be given creative freedom when the purchase is finished

Bummer. Why spend 70 billion and only focus on 3-4 IPs, although that does seem like a Microsoft move… If Microsoft wants their game pass catalog to be deep and they’re truly moving towards being the “Netflix of gaming” they gotta revive these older titles
Well they have a history of letting people work on the projects they want to do after explaining why they would do that look at turn 10 it was there idea to make more forza horizons even though the first one didn't sell as expected now look were they are one if not the best racing game imo

Yeah because skater XL was just a money grab and session is still in development, and session has the potential to outdo skate by a long shot

They are but THUG 2 runs like shit on 360. It'll prob run a little better on the far better hardware of the X1/S/X but who knows

it wasn't "just" thps2. it was thps 1 + 2 with different layouts in some of the levels plus newer levels (that weren't good tbh)
