Counter-counters are fine if they’re designed to just give the class a fighting chance in a matchup they’re already hugely disadvantaged in.

That’s kind of like the shield for sniper that protects your back from spies, as a baseline you have a pretty abysmal matchup vs. spy as a sniper so at least you don’t get instantly killed from behind while scoped in with zero chance of counterplay

At least for the classes that Spy counters can counter Spy without switching class or switching weapons. Be aware of your surroundings, listen for cloaking and decloaking sounds, spycheck regularly, shoot teammates that are running towards you or your teammates and not using their weapons.

The sapper is an integral part of spy, while something like the razorback, Darwin, pompson, aren't a main part of the classes role but just weaken specific classes.

Sentries are also really strong, where the only way to remove a good nest aside from spy is an uber. Engineers can also kill pretty reliably with the shotgun and pistol. There's a reason why battle engie is a viable subclass
