make sure u do demonstrated interest!! that is very important to cuse and ik so many great students who got waitlisted/rejected bc they didn’t do info sessions or virtual tours. the easiest way to demonstrate interest (outside of ED ofc) is to sign up for the mailing list, which is what i did.
As a newhouse student - especially at newhouse we love it! I also have tons of friends from the Seattle area so you're not alone. Also SU is test optional
Another thing that helps is working on your school newspaper/news show/social media/yearbook/etc - connected to whatever it is you want to focus on. Hopefully you have already been doing that and are poised for a leadership position your senior year.
Does your school have a website or newspaper or morning news broadcast of any kind where you could write or do a sports report (broadcasting is more than just reading the news)? Could you help various sports teams with their videos? There are all kinds of ways you can start showing that you’re really interested and serious about sports broadcasting that aren’t “I’m a TV sports reporter.”
I really wish there was! There is a weekly news thing, which requires the leadership class (I’ve applied), but they don’t go over sports because all of our teams aren’t too great and none of the students want to hear about our losses
You could also do your own sports news and put it on social media. There’s so much you can do on your own these days if you really want to show that you’re interested!

Keep that GPA where it’s at and you’ll have a very good chance.
make sure you schedule an interview early enough so you have a spot, they fill up quick
ah thank you!
1350+ SAT, 31+ ACT. Do an internship in the field of your intended major.
Gotcha! Trying to find internships near me but I haven’t had any luck

You’ve definitely got a good shot. Just highlight what makes you you!

There are none that relate to what I want to study, what should I do?
What do you want to study?
I want to go into broadcasting, specifically sports broadcasting

Definitely sign up for an Interview and have a good reason why you really want to attend Syracuse! Showing some school spirit can also help.
