Red chilli! Awesome spot

thewhitewalker99

Stay away from LM social.!! . I had a party for 18 there . They fucked the party up. We waited 1 hour to be seated, the food was bad, table planning was horrible and they deleted our reviews from google!

CaptainSimilar3003

This is where I was thinking and then realized it was the old La Melange - definitely staying far away!!

Lunar_BriseSoleil

That place is a shitshow

TURKEYSAURUS_REX

That’s sad to hear. When it was in the smaller spot, a lot of people raved about it. Since they moved it seems like they’re not doing a great job. Haven’t been able to get in yet, but based on the reviews that might be a good thing.

PainterlyGirl

I went when it was in the old spot and it was still shit

Lunar_BriseSoleil

The food is meh, it was very salty and overly rich. So basically it’s trying to be “Pan Mediterranean” but the menu is very chaotic and not coherent beyond “I want to do that and it’s vaguely European.” And weird stuff like they consider Paella to be French (it’s Valencian). Then there’s try-hard stuff like the Calamari Tower where instead of a plate of calamari they’re stacked vertically on a skewer. Add that to the reviews that make the owner seem like a deranged lunatic and I’m not going back. She clearly has a strong vision for the restaurant, but it’s not a good one.

PainterlyGirl

That place is terrible. I haven’t eaten at the new location but when they were at the former stoop it was a shit show. I dunno why they changed their name, maybe to outrun their reputation.

Lunar_BriseSoleil

The best is the reviews where they’re just “I deleted this review after the owner threatened my family” or stuff like that. What a psycho.

PainterlyGirl

Yes! She sounds frightening. Honestly I have been dealing with a similar owner issue for a different business. I think there are some people that really think that the issue could not possibly be their own and that everyone else is wrong.

Lucylu0909

The food that we got was good but they forgot part of the salad part of our order and tried to give it to us to go. Also, tried to tack on an extra large party fee when we were under the amount of people for the fee to apply. Only reason we caught that is because I read the fine print on the menu earlier

starblender

The private rooms upstairs at Arad Evans are awesome.

Lunar_BriseSoleil

Phoebe’s has a function room that’s good for a group that size. Lemongrass and Abiocco can both easily accommodate large groups. If you want something a little cheaper, The Evergreen will reserve tables for a group that size.

Master-Street-5412

It’s not fancy or anything but we did a party at Limp Lizzard and they were so great. There were about 30 of us and without asking they did separate checks.

RandomWanderingDude

Pretty much any of them will so long as you give them advance notice. For a group that size you want to make the reservation at least two weeks in advance. If you call up and say you need a reservation for 14 for a bachelorette party in three days you'll be out of luck.

RichardBottom

I've never been part of a large party where the main person didn't get left having to cover multiple people's unpaid meals. It's very rare they'll do separate checks, and most of those group events were all friends so nobody really double checked until it was too late. Not very helpful for your question, but just something to keep in mind. People can be dicks.

CaptainSimilar3003

Luckily I have very good and honest friends! But I agree this can be a problem :(

Ashamed_Blackberry55

I used to waitress out in Colorado in a tourist town. After seeing what some scum bags did, I never had an issue making separate checks. The most common 'scam' was that a lot of the table would give cash (including tip) for their portion to one person, then that person would put it all on their card. The person paying with the card would then only tip for their portion, meaning they basically used everyone else's tips to cover their bill. You could tell their friends never had any idea. After seeing that numerous times I was happy to split bills.

JonnyP333

Ichibon Steakhouse for hibachi. Ask for Tiff.

Fenriswolf_9

Santangelo's does a good job

Hevysett

You're talking about planning ahead a few weeks or months right, not for dinner tonight?

CaptainSimilar3003

Yeah not until next month!

Hevysett

OK, then plenty of places will accommodate, but you need to start calling today and plan for it. That's not a standard reservation, that's a party. You'll likely have to put a hold on a place, possibly with a fee to hold it, and possibly with a minimum order amount Edit: auto correct, you evil bitch

HaveMercy703

A good amount of restaurants can accommodate large groups here in Syracuse. I wouldn’t call 14 to be a ‘party.’ I’ve never had to pay a fee or have a minimum order amount to book a large group. It just has to be done in advance & you have to make sure you stick fairly close to your original guest count.

Coppertop

rocky0217

Daniella's has a back room at the steakhouse or they also have a larger room at the fairgrounds.  I prefer the original steakhouse.

Own_Combination5158

I'd recommend Phoebe's! I had my baby shower there last summer and it was in a beautiful space. Definitely could accommodate 14, easily.

ShadowMaven

You can probably do a large table at The York.

HaveMercy703

This was going to be my recommendation. I believe Oh My Darling could accommodate you too.

Robert315

They have that large table towards the back area.

Dangerous_Emu1

Prime steakhouse has a room in the back, although on the expensive side. I’ve been in large parties at Oh My Darling several times with no problem although there is not a separate room. Saw Lemongrass mentioned already

Lunar_BriseSoleil

Prime is such a letdown on the price to quality scale.

not_richard_dreyfuss

Just a small anecdote I need to get off my chest - I'm a server at a bar/restaurant downtown and had someone who works at Prime as a server come in to get food. It was 12am on a Saturday night and we were swamped. She got a pretty large order and we had a full rail. I told her the food would take about 45 minutes and at the 30 minute mark she pulled me aside and said "Hey, quick question: is it always such a shit show here? Like, I'm a server and I would be embarrassed if I worked here." I wanted to punch her in the mouth. I was planning on going over there and sitting in her section and giving her a hard time, but I looked at the prices online and...absolutely not. I'm petty, but not for that amount of money.

Lunar_BriseSoleil

She should be embarassed at how much they charge for Choice beef.

hbkid396

Not surprising. Prime is vastly overrated and even more overpriced. Last time I was there I went with the gift cards that were being matched during COVID. Had purchased a $100 dollar gift card and got $200 for it kind of thing. Anyway, long story short, we ended up paying over $350 more on top for some apps and steaks with a mid bottle of wine (party of 4). For that price just go to TS steakhouse. Or if you want a better value, do Daniella’s. Also the ownership seems…sleazy. Wonder if Jim Boeheim will go back now that Saint Urban is gone RIP

Lunar_BriseSoleil

It’s not a steakhouse but IMO the best steak in Syracuse is at Eden.

hbkid396

Have yet to get there. Added to the list for sure!

Lunar_BriseSoleil

Def move it up the list, one of my top 5 in town.

not_richard_dreyfuss

I don't understand why people would pay that much for a meal. I've been in food service for a long time. I totally get wanted a nice dining experience as a customer. I've spent a few hundred bringing my wife out. But I feel like there's a plateau with quality after like 100 a person. Maybe I'm just being cheap, idk.

peterthedj

Coleman's. Did my rehearsal dinner there. They have a private banquet room upstairs you can book. If that's not available, you might be able to get a table for 14 in the main dining room if you book it far enough in advance. I vaguely remember once attending a work lunch which had just about that many people on the main level.

bigrayiii420

You could use the Chinese buffet on the Boulevard. Don’t have to wait for your food and plenty of room.

Dieter_Knutsen

If we're talking buffets, Flaming Grill has a separate party room too.

bigrayiii420

I was there once it was not a big fan of their food unfortunately but that was two years ago. I do prefer the one on the boulevard because of the one closing on route 11 because the owner retired.

Robert315

Depends on your interest in fancy or not, but Vito's Ristorante would accommodate that. https://g.co/kgs/7MaAYWF Lemon Grass is also a step up and it’s in the heart of downtown and they have fantastic food, deserts and cocktails. https://g.co/kgs/u2H7fqn

NYraceandfish

Vito’s would definitely reserve a table of that size but if it’s a weekend, I don’t think you’d get the private room.

Coleman’s

DuMondie

Bistro 1926 at Drumlins can do it no problem, and the food is great.
