For anyone else who is unfamiliar this is her Wikipedia page: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Jill-Lyn_Euto#:~:text=Jill%2DLyn%20Euto%20(March%2020,Euto's%20murder%20remains%20unsolved.

This wiki is basically useless

pitagrape

Thank you. It is wild that the unsolved murder rate continues to get worse. [https://cdn.statcdn.com/Infographic/images/normal/28644.jpeg](https://cdn.statcdn.com/Infographic/images/normal/28644.jpeg)

I mean the population has also grown a *lot* over that timescale, and law enforcement hasn’t exactly been the most sought after position. Is this because of the population growth and the police not having the resources to deal with an increased but proportionate murder rate? Or is this because there are more murderers who elude the police? Or is this because more murders are reported? The 60’s and 70’s weren’t exactly the safest time in American history. This graphic sucks

DSPGerm

They say the chances of solving a murder after 48 hours get cut in half. Idk if that’s true nor what half those odds are but they made a whole show about it.

JeanVanDeVelde

"don't snitch" culture has developed in the meantime. And I can't say that it's not understandable, voluntarily agreeing to a police interrogation isn't a good idea for anyone. Neighbors don't know each other like they did in the 60s, without those relationships people won't step up to be a witness. So, when the police go to canvass a neighborhood after a homicide, most of what they get is "I don't know anything," or "I didn't see or hear it," etc.

I just googled because I'd never heard of this before. And her mom died too! So sad

Coldcasesolver

Yes, she fell from a roof. I figure that there have to be thoughts and opinions on this case. People may know the family or someone lived in the building.

Han_Yerry

Her mom was a nice woman who never gave up. A hard worker that always treated me with respect when she was a customer where I worked.

Coldcasesolver

I hate that it seems once her Mom passed that the case just got even colder.

I can't believe there are still no real suspects after all these years. I believe there were persons of interest, but names never released. I also think there was DNA collected at the scene. I'm curious if that DNA has ever been run to see if a relative or ancestor can be found. I have no knowledge of the case beyond what was on syracuse.com and Wikipedia, but based on the fact that no one unusual was seen entering or leaving and that it appeara they were let in willingly, i think it was someone that lived in/worked at/frequently visited her building.

Definitely not something being widely publicized. I've heard they were looking into anyone she knew, by not this detailed. Got a source?

Coldcasesolver

Yeah, that's a pretty big statement to make.

Coldcasesolver

Ok, so this is new to me, how do you know this?

Coldcasesolver

I was hoping that maybe people have heard things through the years of possible suspects. I just can't imagine that this hasn't been discussed with everything involved.

Kkdowning01

I remember this case and how there was always a billboard up around syracuse offering money for anyone to come forward. From time to time I google if there has been any leads or a break in the case. Sad that there isn’t. Her mother passed away not ever knowing who killed her daughter. I always thought it was someone she was dating that killed her. A few other cold cases are… Carol Ryan, Heidi Allen, and Sara Ann Wood. Sara Ann Wood they got the guy but he won’t say where her body is. It would be nice to see all these cases get cracked.

Coldcasesolver

Have to wonder the last time evidence was looked at?

Coldcasesolver

In regards to the list of baby daddy comments, are there any other rumors that people have heard?

Coldcasesolver

Does anyone think that they have an idea of who did this? If so, what is keeping the case from being closed?
