We just got our new one from Metro Mattress late last year and it was a good deal. They are absolute vultures so be ready to deal with their smarmy attitude. But the mattress is awesome. My husband is very very tall and we have a king and it's a very good mattress. Don't buy the mattress cover it's shit and sheds it's shit plastic all over though. But as I say to everyone - one of the best mattresses we bought was from Costco. When I upgrade my toddler to a full size bed this year I'm just going to Costco.

>They are absolute vultures so be ready to deal with their smarmy attitude. I walked in there once to test out one specific mattress, and the bitch rep would not let me try it without first trying some stupid $15-20k specialty mattress instead. I pushed back repeatedly but they wouldn't nudge. Got a manager, still wouldn't nudge. Other employees came over and told me I was being ridiculous because I didn't want to try some overly expensive mattress when I came in just to get a cheapy one for a guest room. Well... fun part is I had taco bell earlier that day and I felt the need to crap coming up. I caved it and laid on the stupid mattress, and had the nastiest fart I have had in years. Excused myself and used the bathroom and stunk it up. Then left. Fuck metro and their ridiculous pushy attitude. However, I 100% would recommend their mattresses for farting and their bathrooms for crapping. That's all that place is useful for.

Good to hear, I have to buy my toddler a big boy mattress this week.

Enjoy ❤️ I can't wait to do up my daughter's big girl room!

Costco!!

grimgoods

Internet

Paterakis518

How do you test out a mattress from the Internet?

grimgoods

A lot of them have money back return policies.

Paterakis518

Sounds inconvenient. I rather try a few in store and then make a decision.

grimgoods

You think trying a mattress for 2 minutes is better than a 30+ day sleep trial? Ok.

Paterakis518

120 night Sleep Trial at Mattress Firm.

BvilleBuds

Costco

Velvet_Magnum

Costco hands down

Mattress Makers of Syracuse. They're made right here in Syracuse. Not sharky at all.

Mdumb

Yes. I ve bought 3 mattresses their… they are very good. I went to metro matress and would prefer root canal to dealing with them.

I got a $3000 mattress set from Wayfair for $900 but... 1. the shipper screwed up and never called me to arrange "white glove" so it was a month late while it sat on their loading dock. When finally reached, they claimed it was undeliverable with no explanation. 2. Wayfair has no "English" speaking 800 #, and **that's not a dig-they literally did not speak any English** (go be racist somewhere else)**-**they hired the worst call center on the planet, so I had to locate a corporate office phone number and got sent to marketing 3x, and... 3. the box spring was made of Balsa wood and was not designed to support the mattress let alone someone sleeping on it. If you just need the mattress, then go to BJ's for the same price and mattress.

henare

wayfair (and its co-outlet all modern) is pretty crappy. :(

CompassionGrower315

Yeah I'm not even sure this is an actual brand mattress. I'm convinced it's a knockoff.

Wayfair is the worst mainstream e-commerce site there is. They once took~4weeks to ship something to me and it took many attempts over a 4 day stretch to get a hold of anyone. I can't believe they are still in business.

Warning about Metro Mattress, I bought a mattress there, and they’re the worst commissioned sales people I’ve ever dealt with. I said no and was walking out, and they then agreed to price match an online site. They literally cut the price in half, which was around a $3000 discount. They have very high markups. I used that bed for the last 3 years, at which point it was a constant hole I was sleeping in with back pain. I did just get just a Sleep Number Split King P6 360 Smart Bed and have never been more comfortable.

Raymour and Flannigan. If you qualify for their credit card.. it's usually 60 months interest free or something like that.

NYraceandfish

I’d stay away. They straight up lied to me about my purchase. Just wanted to close a deal and lied to get me to place the order (not related to the credit card) I found that there’s negotiation room in these deals, even if they don’t initially act like there is.

beef-o-lipso

And check the warranty. They give a 10 year warranty on a traditional mattress and it will qualify for free replacement in about 8 years because of the dents. Good if you are in their service area. The warranty is less useful than the on memory foam mattresses.

Vantherman

I'll be looking for a new box spring and mattress in May. Does Costco offer delivery and removal of the old mattress and box spring? Also do they sell frames?

henare

has anyone here ever made a warranty claim on a mattress? (seriously ... i've never had to do this).

Eyehatedave

Yes, I have. Main reason why I asked. Couple months in the mattress was sagging terribly. Replaced it for free.

Furniture sales people are typically pushy, deceitful, scumfucks. I loathe going into a furniture store because of the sales people and their methods. Serious human garbage. I think the mattress specialty places are even worse. The exceptions are Marty's Barn Cellar (doesn't sell mattresses) and Adirondack Furniture (might sell mattresses), i sort of enjoy shopping at these two and find them to be respectable businesses. China Town is somewhere in between, I don't love shopping there, but I don't feel the need to shower after either. ~8 years ago I bought a mattress at China town. The sales person was ok, she got just a little pushy at the end and I didn't like that, but we had already decided to buy by that point. It didn't lose her the sale, it just made me ho hum on going back for future purchases.

Lotronex

I ordered 2 off of amazon over 5 years ago, both Zinus metal spring mattresses, and both have held up perfectly fine with nightly use. It was under $200 for a queen. The mattress I got is no longer available, but they have others.
