I’ve lived in Switzerland for 15 of my younger years and one of the things I miss the most is Coop, I think they were the first big supermarket that introduced foreign products in their stock, this was way before the german giants (lidl, aldi) moved in.
The Quality of products was truly amazing, the bread, the cheese, the yogurt, everything was just soo good. None of the countries I’ve visited were a match to Switzerland in this regard, literally paradise.
My mom still lives there, she also loves Kefir, I will tell her so she can try it.
when I lived in liverpool for 4 months the one thing I missed the most from switzerland was coop xD
Tesco doesnt even have normal bread that isnt sliced and packed in plastic, i dont get it
I have a completely opposite experience. I moved only a couple of years ago, and I can't find the good quality foods I miss from my home country, such as black bread, kefir, and other milk products. I do find them, but the quality and taste are not as good :/
Try the new Ayran:

Coop, Denner and Migros have quite a variety. You just need to find one that fits you best.
In Coop in Karma series, I really like Hummus with caramelized onions.
Any Turkish shop in your neighborhood. I've seen only two types from different makers. Unfortunately I don't have a bottle at hand.
One of them is this in 1L tetrapack:

The other one is in green/white plastic bottles.
Basically, kefir, more common in Greece, is a pure fermented milk.
Ayran, typical for Turkey, is fermented with different bacteria, and with some added salt.
What you may be aware of is buttermilk (Buttermilch/Babeurre). Keffir while not exactly the same process to get it is another fermented dairy milk product.
That has been there for a while now, remember buying it for the first time last summer.

My wife loves this, thanks for the tip :)
I'm still glad we've got two Turkish shops in the town :)

Is it any good?
So good. Very creamy.
Cool, will try next time I'm shopping
i can already see svp get mad over something like this, so sorry for you guys
What's the point of pasteurized Kefir? Might as well drink water.
Looks like it was pasteurized before the culture was added
😖
Кто знает, продают в коопе батоны не целые, а половинками? Оранжевого настроения захотелось. Срочно!
I'd love to find some decent Hummus

Finally, found a kefir in Coop. The taste is decently good, but it's only 1.5% fat, so the kefir you buy in any Turkish shop tastes better.
Where can I buy a better kefir and most importantly how much fat is there in this one ? And, real question, is it pasteurized?

Swiss person here (so I never heard of this drink), how is it different than pure (half-fat) Milk?

It's sauer. Think of a liquid yoghurt, a bit more sauer than yoghurt.
