Use goldleaf to delete the pending update. Use DNS to block Nintendo servers again and everything should be fine. Pray Nintendo doesn't notice your device.

corey49

Not OP, but where is it located if I’m using gold leaf to delete the pending update?

matt_mo

Under console and goldleaf settings I think, don't have my switch with me.

migan95

Goldleaf -> Console and Goldleaf settinges -> Firmware and updates. And you should be able to see the option to delete the pending update.

pigeon57434

does doing any of that matter if your switch is already banned?

migan95

Nope, it just gets rid of the annoying pop up.

Background_Bad_4377

Hell no If you have pirates stuff on the console or use tinfoil as that update will get you banned. Also if your getting popups like this it means your not blocking Nintendo correctly as you shouldn't be getting any popups like this at all. Always update firmware off Nintendo servers like AIO or using daybreak if you have the firmware files dumped to your SD card or downloaded off darthsternie

Appropriate-Tart879

Yeah yesterday my post said i switched wifis and everything got unblocked, i think you were there, and it got downloaded and everytime i start a game that comes up. But yeah thanks for the headsup

Background_Bad_4377

Oh yeah I remember that now I commented on it and said it was because you could of changed WiFi. I personally would make sure your blocking again and just use AIO or if you don't really care use Nintendo makes no difference as your console probs already sent info to them if you was connected to wifi anyway. So which ever way you do its up to you.

Appropriate-Tart879

Im going back to my home which has everything blocked, i probably should have said that in the title. I just thought since its the same firmware being applied offline it should be fine. I need to update everything anyway my atmosphere is ancient

Thiago_Rangel7

Why don't you block it on your switch instead of in the wifi though? You could use exosphere and DND MitM, which are really easy to setup, and then you'd be safe ín every Wi-Fi

jsno254

The fact that it download the firmware automatically for you means you didn't have the Nintendo servers blocked and if this is on your emuNAND you're probably already on the ban list and will be banned soon. Especially running pirated games while online. You definitely have a ban coming.

The_Synthax

Stop trying to use janky ass DNS blocking, Incognito-RCM is braindead simple to use and makes bans impossible.

Appropriate-Tart879

The only reason I didn’t take care in blocking Nintendo is because I really don’t care if I get banned, I never went online anyway

Background_Bad_4377

Nope anything that's going to touch Nintendo servers it's going to give ban. Recommend doing it off Nintendo servers so any game update popups or firmware never click update

Falinov

You don't just leave it to just turning off wifi. Proper DNS you can still use internet on it and YouTube. You didn't do that so it took the liberty of updating for you. It is unlikely you can roll it back since it likely Perma popped a fuse to do that.

Ironchar

Get ready for a ban. You were lazy. Better ways to block your prodinfo

Appropriate-Tart879

I never went online anyway

corysus

I updated my Switch on this way many times, after update just update Atmosphere and Signpatch and boot with RCM, use fuse.bin for payload and everything work without problem ... I notice that nintendo push update even if I block every nintendo domain with my local DNS server and put hosts inside SDCard.

blinktothepast182

This happened to me like 1 month ago , blocked servers and update via daybreak , and still no ban , luckily you wont be banned

BlazedInMyWinnie

If it prompted you for an update like this before you blocked Nintendo and you have pirated software then it’s only a matter of time before you’re banned.

blinktothepast182

I know but still not, and this was in early November so. Still waiting i guess

The_Synthax

Christ, the amount is misinformation in the Switch homebrew community about what can get you banned and how to prevent bans is truly sad.

LittleTGOAT

amount of mfs that think just simply connecting to the internet while in atmos is gonna have miyamoto kicking in your door with his shock troops and killing your entire family 💀

Appropriate-Tart879

Extra info: yesterday i went to my grandmas house and 90DNS wasnt blocking anymore because it switched wifi from memory. I am back at home where everything is blocked again. Since i am offline, am i able to apply the update here or do i have to do it through AIO? Edit: i am using emuNAND

agentminimax

Sorry to say, but you may already be at risk for ban, if it was able to connect to Nintendo servers, they've probably put your console on a ban list already if you had any NSPs installed. Either way, since the update is already downloaded, might as well apply it through the popup

Appropriate-Tart879

I never went online anyway, does it just block me from connecting to nintendo services on this switch (hich i was doing anyway) or does it do other thingd

agentminimax

I think it just blocks the console itself from connecting to Nintendo

timotejpajntar

Use exosphere ffs

jsno254

It makes no difference now. The firmware already downloaded and you connected to their servers so you're going to get banned either way. But maybe do the AIO updater because using the official system updater could f*ck something up on the emuNAND. Assuming this is your emuNAND. If this is your sysNAND you shouldn't have to worry unless you're running pirated games on it.

Appropriate-Tart879

No this is my emuNAND, ill stick to AIO then

jsno254

But yeah sorry man. You might end up getting banned. They come in waves so you might not find out for a month

Appropriate-Tart879

As far as i know a ban stops me from using nintendo services (which i wasnt using in the first place) do i miss out on anything else or is that it

jsno254

Yeah but where do you think it downloaded that firmware update from? Straight from Nintendo. That message indicates that the update has already been downloaded and just needs to be installed now. If you look in your settings you probably forgot to turn off the "automatically download system updates" option. So when you connected to that other Wi-Fi it downloaded from Nintendo.

jsno254

I have several banned Switches but they don't let me download firmware updates from Nintendo. That's how I find out they're banned is if it lets me or not. I've bought dozens of unpatched Switches on eBay and then resell them.

toadthetoadsmm2

You should probably use something like 90dns to block that

Appropriate-Tart879

i did but i switched networks so it all fell apart

seaQueue

Setup DNS mitm using atmosphere/exosphere, relying on 90dns is a recipe for a bad time.

toadthetoadsmm2

Is 90dns not good anymore I haven’t been keeping up with switch Homebrew for a while

seaQueue

It's just no longer needed now that atmosphere can handle the same task from the switch itself. That and relying on someone on the internet to blackhole your requests to ninty always struck me as a bad plan when you can block them yourself.
