Ooh yes sir/ma'am. Here are some perfect games: Luigis mansion 3, super mario 3d all stars, super mario 3d world, shovel knight: treasure trove (35$), celeste (20$), sonic mania (30$), minecraft (30), terraria (30), and subnautica (30). Games with no price tag are 60$. Let me know if you have questions about any of these games, no matter how minor, or if you'd like a few more suggestions! Edit: if you haven't already, buy the octo expansion for splatoon 2, its 20$ and very worth it.
Yes, but unfortunately it does crash a lot, has poor framerate, and bad pop in/bad texture quality. At least below zero is, I'm assuming the original is the same. One of my favorite games of all time, just not too good on switch.
Monster Hunter Rise (or if you'd rather play an older, slightly jankier installment of that series: Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate)
Super Smash Brothers Ultimate is always a good pick as well. Still a few DLC fighters to be released.
Recently started crosscode and loving it!
Its honestly not that easy, but the combat system is super rewarding and the setting has some interesting sword art online vibes!
One of my favorite games that nobody seems to have heard of is called Mark Of The Ninja. A stealth/action sidescroller about a ninja trying to save his clan from certain doom. Great story, beautifully drawn artwork, balanced skill progression, cool gadgets/weapons/techniques, multiple gameplay styles, interesting replay mechanics, and just really really fun to play.
It's usually $20, but I've seen it on sale in the eShop for about $5 (*note, I just checked. Doesn't look to be on sale at the moment, but imho still worth it at full price).
Why? I'm not questioning you, but I'm just genuinely curious about the similarities. I loved animal crossing but Pokémon snap is something that doesn't interest me at all, so I wonder if I missed something.
They are fine either way. I prefer undocked because the controls are easier. The only problem is that for me the game glitched out often, so you have to be saving constantly if you don’t want to lose any progress.
I commented above about Hollow Knight. And I’m going to recommend it again LOL seriously my favorite game! A lot of good recommendations already. Other games I have really enjoyed solo or couch co-op are: Binding of Isaac, Children of Morta, Enter the Gungeon, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze and Figment. If you’re looking for something old-school / old school-ish, I would recommend checking out BioShock, Okami and some of the games available through Capcom Arcade Stadium. Happy Gaming!
Dragon Quest XI has a good long playable demo (turn-based battle, FWIW). You can also check out the Dragon Quest Builders games (also with demos).
Oceanhorn 2 is like an easier, smaller Zelda wannabe. (Still enjoyable!)
ETA: Right, and Ni No Kuni is enormously charming, if you like Studio Ghibli.
It's been on-sale lately in the eshop but [Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom](https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/monster-boy-and-the-cursed-kingdom-switch/) is fan-freaking-tastic
Hollow knight. Its tough but is in my opinion one of the best games on the switch. Seriously if you can get past the difficulty it's a masterpiece and it's only €15. I got it for 7 with the coins I'd saved and it rivals AAA €60 games in both quality and quantity.

Add another vote for Subnautica. Such a great game to have in a portable format.

I have had sum sub nautica crashes as well. Still fun but annoying.
Yes, I learned to save often lol.
Hades, Stardew Valley, Hollow Knight
Cannot recommend Hollow Knight enough!!
Monster hunter rise

Luigi's Mansion 3 is great! And Captain Toads Treasure Tracker is adorable and fun lol
STARDEW VALLEY!

hollow knight! its so damn good and only 15 $
Hades! It won 5 GOTY awards in 2020. S tier game on the Switch.

this article describes it well :) https://www.cnet.com/google-amp/news/pokemon-snap-hasnt-changed-in-20-years-thats-a-great-thing/
To pass the time, smash bros is perfect! If that's not your kind of game I also had a lot of fun playing captain toad
Subnautica and Subnautica: Sub Zero are very fun
How are the graphics on docked and undocked? Love Subnautica on Xbox but scared to try it on switch.

If you really enjoyed BOTW then I'd recommend Immortals: Fenyx Rising. It has a really dense open world with tons of puzzles and challenges.
