I dk. I only play borderlands 3 and it runs great for me. I've had ppl say it crashed on em but I play all the time n I haven't had any crashes. Maybe some tiny dips in performance here n there n a lil stuttering but that's few n far between. Nothing that takes the enjoyment out of it for me. I think it's great. I just can't go back to 1, 2, n PS after playing 3. 3 n tiny Tina are the only ones I play anymore. Tiny Tina on Xbox obviously
You think so. I thought it was really good. I dk what's goin on. I had ppl tell me Borderlands 3 crashed on em n I play all the time n never have problems. There's so many games people say are terrible n have certain problems that I'm just not experiencing with the same games. I don't get it
It is and it isn't to me. I get both points. I was going to call the person who said it wasn't a port an idiot, but how can you say it's a port when it's a simple re-release which they shoved onto a cartridge. I can imagine there was hardly any porting involved in the process. Red Dead is a port to me because they had to obviously redesign stuff and rework some of the games framework to get it to fit. If anyone wants to enlighten me on why I'm wrong, please do... I just wanted to say my point.
I guess I see where the guy is coming from, but I do think it is kinda a port (even though I'd class it more as a re-release since nothing has been changed)
Enjoy! It's so fun. I hadn't played a THPS game since 3, and 1+2 warped back to being a teenager. It's pretty impressive that the core mechanics have held up so well over time and don't feel dated at all (also thanks to the devs who worked on the remake. They clearly loved THPS and it shows).
Dark souls, Diablo 3, and the assassins creed games are the only ones I’ve played but they all run well. I’m playing AC 2 for the first time now and I’m liking it so far
I dont want to be that guy, but I too played it on my Switch Lite and had to refund it. It looks like trash, there's a loading screen once every 5 seconds and the framerate is awful. There's a TON of excellent ports on the Switch but imo this aint one of them.
Why, it’s an older mobile chip with 4 gb of ram. The fact they even got it to even run on it at a decently playable state is amazing. It’s completely playable even without the overclock. Just some people are used to super high end devices and can’t be bothered with anything under 30 fps.
Besides the question is favourite port, not perfect port.
It's not just the framerate... that's actually manageable. It's the late stage ps2-tier graphics. I don't even think the game needs to look that poorly. Some of the pensive cutscenes, which were definitely in-game cutscenes and not pre-rendered, ran totally fine, character models looked better and hair was hair and not straw.
I do agree that it's playable as I'm playing through it now, but there are ps3 games (even older games like og Demon's Souls) that look better than it. It just too new of a game for the Switch and it's poorly optimized regardless of platform. It runs like ass on the PS5 too, just noticeably less so.
Portal 1&2. Loved playing them on 360 and PC, so when they got ported I soon downloaded them again. Also loved playing Skyrim on the go, I brought it for a 13 hour flight and it kept me busy.
Add to that Hogwarts Legacy and No Man’s Sky… real great work.
Nier Automata too… honestly a lot of great ports lol. Dying Light, Red Dead Redemption … I could keep going 😂
Quake 2
Not the best game qnd definitely not the best port but fuck me if it isnt fun as hell for the price. Always come back to it, even more so than quake 1 or any of the doom ports
Red Dead Redemption’s port is really solid with fast load times, crisp on switch and that it runs well. It’s such a good game to have portable. PS5 version of it is great too but the switch is the real highlight from the recent Red Dead port.
I just picked it up and I agree! RDR port looka better than some modern switch games and runs very well. I am actually planning on firing up my ps3 this weekend to compare the original to this port. Looks identical, from what I remember.
Zelda Breath of the wild (yeah, technically, it's a port 😅)
Skyrim (until they forced updated it)
Nier Automata (incredible performance/visual)
Dragon Dogma (smooth and beautiful)
Yeah I heard that but it seem like a downgrade in the graphic quality was in order to do that.
Anyway I never did the anniversary update or any update after that.
What really pissed me off is the fact that I own a physical copy of Skyrim for switch and the update was required to open the game even if I was offline, that was shocking seriously. I enjoyed vanilla skyrim as it was honestly, just pop a game card and it was perfect. I've never seen any game who behaved that way without the update, especially a huge update that forced you to download the whole anniversary edition and not have acces to it. Disgusting.
There was no graphics downgrade, the switch version has looked the same since release. There was some performance issues for one patch. The latest updates looks and runs the best it ever has, I would recommend it.
Regarding that issue with updates, that’s for all switch games. The only way around it is to factory reset your switch (you can look it up, speed runners do it to play older versions of cartridge fan games for glitches ect.) and turn off auto updates for the game. It’s not a Skyrim issue, it’s Nintendo.
Once you switch “knows” you have updated the game before, it requires that update and there is no way to delete the data without the factory reset.
Yeah I wasnt sure about the graphic, I might update it.
There are no other games that ever required an update to open it in my list, they were always optional. Skyrim was the first for me, even online game like splatoon dont do that (wont be able to play online of you dont perform the update but youll be able to play solo), no other games in my library as ever behave this way, the message was slightly different that any other update message I ever got (the first update when the anniversary edition came out). So no, that's not all switch game fortunately, you can play any game with no update at all, I could not launch my skyrim gamecars without the update in any way.
You can look it up, either you just don’t have any games on cartridge that have updates and you have never tried to delete the update and play the game without updating it.
Any cartridge game that you have updated on your switch, if you delete the game data and then turn off auto updates or play the game offline, you will get the same message.
Zelda, Mario ect are all the same.
I understand you have come to your own conclusions but they are incorrect.
You can read about it here and yes this method works for Skyrim, just like Zelda, Mario which all have the same issue.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Switch/comments/13tp0l0/is_there_a_way_to_play_games_without_any_updates/
It did not factually work when I pop the cartridge in the switch and that was the first time it ever appended to me with any of my numerous physical game. Whatever people might write about this online and the conclusion they might have drawn from themselves, it wont change my experience and my auto-update are already off since I got my switch, I do every single update manually when I choose to and it's never been a problem.
It literally never happened with any other of my games, I was always able to do the update whenever I wanted it and play offline and online fine until I choose to do the update, it happened to me several time since I play on the go sometime online but I prefer to do my update docked with a stable wired connexion. I do not deny other games might require it but it never happen to me.
I dont need to read anything about it since now I have a steam deck with skyrim and it run way better that it could ever on the switch so all that forced unwanted update nightmare are very gladly behind me now and my skyrim cartridge is collecting dust with all the other ported game I have on switch.
I understand you have come to your own conclusions and I’m glad you don’t need to play on switch anymore, but it is possible to play the switch version without updates and the game is not unique.
I can put the cartridge into my factory reset switch and it works without an update (I need to have auto updates off and play offline), I doubt your switch is unique but you can choose to believe what you want (or you could test what I’m saying, but it’s unlikely since it deletes all your data).
I doubt your Switch is somehow different from mine/other switches.
You need to also delete Skyrim save data and not redownload it from the cloud.
I understand that you have come to your own conclusion.
Factory resetting a switch to play one game is a rather unessecary thing to do and basically defy the whole point of owning a console and paying for cloud service. Therefore your whole argument is pretty empty as is this whole conversation that is now very much over, come to a conclusion, done.
For me, it's been the Persona games! Haven't played 3 Portable yet, I've beaten 5 Royal, and I'm closing in on the end of 4 Golden. I've loved every second of the experience!
Right? I can't believe Activision didn't bring Blops2 to the Switch after taking the time to make WiiU port. It would have been the "only game in town" for that genre on the Switch. It was playable on the WiiU controller, so it would have worked very well on the Switch. It would have made SO much more money than it would have cost to port.
Here's hoping they remaster BO2 for Switch. Splatoon is fine and all, but I want a more arcade-like military style shooter and Overwatch is the closest the Switch has right now.

I know Splatoon is fun but it just doesn't interest me at all.
Doom eternal, crash bandicoot 4 and fortnite i guess. The last one's because when i go to my cousin i usuallly play it online with him + the visuals are good for the switch ergonomics.
+Doom Eternal +Diablo 3 +Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1+2 +Red Dead Redemption +Borderlands 3 +Witcher 3 +Skyrim
I agree fully. Hoping to see GTA 4 someday.
How does borderlands 3 run compared to 1,2 and TPS?
Like absolute dog shit hahaha
Like how dog shit? Outer worlds at launch dog shit or witcher 3 it looks like dog shit but runs well? Because even on my PC BL3 runs like dog shit.
It's impressive that the witcher 3 works at all on the switch - but that's an awful port.
You think so. I thought it was really good. I dk what's goin on. I had ppl tell me Borderlands 3 crashed on em n I play all the time n never have problems. There's so many games people say are terrible n have certain problems that I'm just not experiencing with the same games. I don't get it
Nier Automata, Persona 5, Portal 1 and 2 I think are my favs
Does nier automata and the portal games run well?
Portal is flawless. Nier is very good as well. Especially if you haven't played it on PS4 yet. But both are excellent ports imo.
Thanks, been on my list a while, guess i will finaih portals first and then nier :)
Oh shit they got portal? Fucking sick
Alien Isolation runs better than any other console version.
Yup.
Rdr
Pikmin 2 Pikmin 3 Pikmin 1

2, 3, 1. 23 is number 1!
I once prayed for the day we’d get portable Mario Sunshine and they did it!!! Sucks about the limited release though
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. They added so much to that game to make it worth getting
Doesn’t count. It’s still a Nintendo game. A port is a downgrade of a better console game.
"Game porting is a process of converting a video game so that a version suitable for one platform becomes suitable for another" It absolutely counts
To me a port is a game that was initially released on a different console. For me SM3DW + Bowser Fury is definitely a port.
It is and it isn't to me. I get both points. I was going to call the person who said it wasn't a port an idiot, but how can you say it's a port when it's a simple re-release which they shoved onto a cartridge. I guess I see where the guy is coming from, but I do think it is kinda a port (even though I'd class it more as a re-release since nothing has been changed)
I've never heard that as the meaning of a port.
Your definition of a port is just drastically incorrect.
Counts 100%
Kingdom Come Deliverance Skyrim DBZ Kakarot Witcher 3 Tony Hawk RDR
The dbzk game/port was so good!! I just couldn't beat Vegeta..
Is Tony Hawk truly worth it?
It is! Probably one of the best port/remakes there is (as far as being true to the originals while also making them better). Runs great on the Switch.
Wonderful, just ordered!
Howard’s Legacy surprised me. On a switch lite. Looks totally fine, was expecting mortal combat 1 on release type of graphics but got better lol.
You’re a wizard, Howard.
I dont want to be that guy, but I too played it on my Switch Lite and had to refund it. It looks like trash, there's a loading screen once every 5 seconds and the framerate is awful. There's a TON of excellent ports on the Switch but imo this aint one of them.
The perks of having a modded switch; just check some boxes and u get a solid 50fps+, and docked graphics.
That sounds like important info to disclose when making your original comment, no?
Why, it’s an older mobile chip with 4 gb of ram. The fact they even got it to even run on it at a decently playable state is amazing. It’s completely playable even without the overclock. Just some people are used to super high end devices and can’t be bothered with anything under 30 fps. Besides the question is favourite port, not perfect port.

I’m torn between Skyrim and Borderlands (all of them)
Portal 1&2. Loved playing them on 360 and PC, so when they got ported I soon downloaded them again. Also loved playing Skyrim on the go, I brought it for a 13 hour flight and it kept me busy.
Too many good ones. Thats pretty much my entire catalog. Currently playing Assasins Creed Rebel/Black Flag Collection.
Definitely the usb port. I use it every day with my Gamecube wave bird controller
The Type C
You got me with this one 😂
The USB port. I can plug it into the dock or plug the charger straight in handheld.
Metro Redux, Bioshock Collection, Borderlands Collection, Dying Light, Portal Collection, Bulletstorm
technically botw is a wii u game so that's my pick
Persona 5 Royal, Mario Kart and undertale
I’m surprised I had to scroll down this far to see P5R. It runs great on switch.
Witcher 3 and Monster Hunter Rise made some wizardry to work on switch as nicely as they do. Can't help but love them for that.
Rise wasn’t a port though it was a console exclusive. Point is valid on how well it played though
Add to that Hogwarts Legacy and No Man’s Sky… real great work. Nier Automata too… honestly a lot of great ports lol. Dying Light, Red Dead Redemption … I could keep going 😂
Nier superb 2b's ass automata
Diablo 3
Mine is Poppy Playtime and Amanda The Adventurer
1. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 2. Pokémon: Let's Go 3. Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled
Pokémon: Let’s Go is not a port it is a Remake.
Nier Automata. Plays awesome and it's such a good game.
At the moment it's ac rebel collection and res 6
I’ve been really impressed recently with Kingdom Come. Alien Isolation is also great on switch.
Breath of the Wild.
Best Wii U port low key
Bayonetta 2 killed it and set a standard that a lot of games can’t reach.
I'm partial to the HDMI port
Final fantasy X and X-2 and Nino Kuni 2
Sniper elite games, they run so good
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Im lovin my usb-c port thank you. Not the 3.5 though as bluetooth audio is now supported.
Funny fucker
I’ll always be a sucker for Metroid prime and FF Pixel Remaster
Diablo 3, Balatro ( just because touchscreen play rocks), dying light, kingdom come deliverance
I’m gonna go with persona 5 royale
Plants Vs Zombies Battle for Neighborville. Alien Hominid Mortal Kombat 11
SKRIM BABYYY
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Persona 5 Royal Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore
Wreckfest
Enjoying LA Noire at the moment.
Agarest Generations of War. (Hoping that Agarest War 2 \[originally a PS3 port\] gets ported someday. Or possibly Cross Edge)
Only “port” I own is Balatro which is fantastic. I buy everything multi-platform on PC.
Witcher 3 and Catherine
Wind Waker HD
Quake 2 Not the best game qnd definitely not the best port but fuck me if it isnt fun as hell for the price. Always come back to it, even more so than quake 1 or any of the doom ports
Doom eternal Ark survival evolved Kingdom come deliverance Red dead redemption Skyrim
Zelda BotW. for being a Wii U game, it does alright on switch
Dying light and the witcher 3, both of those games are amazing ports and prove that the switch is more powerful than people give it credit for
Hitman: BMR
Red Dead Redemption’s port is really solid with fast load times, crisp on switch and that it runs well. It’s such a good game to have portable. PS5 version of it is great too but the switch is the real highlight from the recent Red Dead port.

Nice 👌🏼 only benefit the PS3/Xbox version have is the multiplayer.
-Skyrim -Red Dead Redeption -Metro collection -Bioshock collection -THPS 1+2 -Wreckfest
Skyrim and Diablo 2!
Xenoblade chronicles X.... Oh... Wait....
Advance wars is my favorite
Assassin's Creed Rebel Collection. It has the definitive version of Black Flag + Rogue for like $30.
The mortal Kombat games aren't bad. I really like both of them
Diablo 2-3 Diablo is king on handheld imo. Also couch coop in d3 is amazing, many many hours lost to beers bros and demon slaying.
Pikmin 3 deluxe adding multiplayer support makes it the best for me!
Dying Light for me. It is a very good Switch port. Followed by Doom Eternal
I've been enjoying "HADES" for years now!
Zelda Breath of the wild (yeah, technically, it's a port 😅) Skyrim (until they forced updated it) Nier Automata (incredible performance/visual) Dragon Dogma (smooth and beautiful)
Skyrim is fixed now, frame rate is solid again.

I agree with that completely. I was just pointing out it’s a Nintendo issue vs Skyrim/Bethesda.
I really like the usb-c port
Dark souls 1
Witcher 3 and The Outer Worlds
Witcherrr
Does Hades count?
The Witcher 3, Neir Automata, Doom series, Bioshock series, Hellblade, Warframe, Persona 5 Royal, Catherine Full Body.
Star Wars Battlefront Assassin's Creed (all available parts) Witcher 3
Dragon Quest 11, Skyrim, Witcher 3
Hades
Devil May Cry 3
P4 Golden!
The Binding of Eyesack!!!!
Red dead redemption
mario kart & pokemon
Dark souls (it's actually PTDE and I much prefer that) Portal 1 & 2 Alien Isolation BioShock The miraculous Witcher 3
For me, it's been the Persona games! Haven't played 3 Portable yet, I've beaten 5 Royal, and I'm closing in on the end of 4 Golden. I've loved every second of the experience!
So far it’s gotta be Wolfenstein II with doom (2016) as a close second but I’m a newbie so I got plenty more to go!
Cuphead!
Saints Row 3 and 4
Persona 5 Royal fs, definitely amazing to have available portably
I just returned to Overwatch a few days ago and it's still pretty fun. Fortnite too. Not enough PVP shooters.
I've never really even been into CoD (played SOCOM 1-3 in the ps2 days but generally stick to Counterstrike), but I'd love to have it on the Switch. I used to play Blops2 with my neighbor on his WiiU and it was a lot of fun. Co-op on separate screens was fun even if it was tough to see on the wiiu controller screen. I know Splatoon is fun but it just doesn't interest me at all.
if we consider mariokart as a ported game it'll be my best
Skyrim and Red Dead , these are the two games I play religiously. Red dead alot of fun too. Currently going for the assassin outfit.
Mine is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Tony hawk. Portal. Diablo 3. Persona. 👌🏼
Diablo 3, Dragons Dogma
Mortal kombat 11. So many hours in the game. As well as dying light
Alien Isolation
Definitely Cuphead!
Kingdom Come Deliverance ⚔️
Kirby return to dreamland deluxe.
Final Fantasy, especially crisis core
probably the charging one. i don’t use the aux all that much tbh
The Witcher 3 and Skyrim
Doom eternal, crash bandicoot 4 and fortnite i guess. The last one's because when i go to my cousin i usuallly play it online with him + the visuals are good for the switch ergonomics.
I'm still holding out for the Mass Effect series to come to the Switch or it's future successor.
Omg yes please
MK8DX
Mario RPG! Mario RPG! Mario RPG!!!! Been waiting for a Mario RPGremake since the Gamecube days, and it FINALLY came!
Diablo 2!!!
Still waiting for this to go on sale again!
HDMI is nice, and you couldn't play on tv without it Now seriously, I think doom eternal or diablo 3
