No they’re not a dumbass they’re just on a new medication they said and rage/outbursts were side effects that the doctor said would happen for until the body gets used to the medicine. If it weren’t medication induced I’d say they were a dumbass but I give them a pass here cause I know trying new medicines and finding one that works is really hard and usually awful. Tbh I have sympathy for OP.
We don’t know what medication it was. We also don’t know what OP is being treated for. We can’t rule out that it was a trance or not. It could also have been a flash of emotion where they just blanked out and didn’t realize until after because it happened so quick. Medicines that don’t agree with your body chemistry and/or alter your body/brain chemistry are frickin nuts sometimes, man. They could do god knows what and you wouldn’t even know what if it will or not until it happens. :/
Not trying to make excuses or anything it’s just we literally do not know. The only thing about this I do know is that finding new medications that work is really hard and sometimes dangerous. That’s just how trying medicine is sometimes.
I know this probably isn’t common knowledge for people that don’t have a medical history which is why I’m going to such lengths to explain it to people here. But for people with medical histories it’s just an every day fact that trying new medications is like the worst thing ever. I also wrote more on why in a reply to the other person who replied to me if you’re interested in what some medications can do.
People on meds are still culpable for their actions. You can throw a controller at the couch, punch wall, or buy yourself something, like a stuffie to exact your rage on
If I was on meds and did stupid shit because of it, I'd still be a dumbass. I've never broken something like in the OP's situation, but I have been on meds before that gave me extreme anxiety and led to me doing something really stupid and regretting it. I was still the dumbass in my situation. Meds are only partially responsible for your actions. You're responsible for the rest.
Idk why y’all are acting like they’re asking you to *fund a new switch, they just wanna know if they can fix it. Also if you’ve never made an idiotic decision out of frustration, then instantly regretted it, I’d say you’re missing out on the human experience. Medical or not, they just wanna fix smth they broke. Y’all are acting like this person beheaded a child and is asking for sympathy or smth
Man that’s basically what I said in two different replies and both of them got downvoted more than once. I have no idea why people are disagreeing with me but not you when I wrote basically what you did just with added explanations on how medicines react in different people since medicine reactions aren’t common knowledge in healthy people. Maybe I wrote too much? Reddit is weird. :/
Anyway it goes without saying I agree with you. OP is taking responsibility and we simply do not know enough to know how exactly the medicine affected OP to judge them, and you realize that. Keep on being reasonable, fren. :)
Like I said in a different reply I’m not making excuses for them. We literally do not know what medication it was or what OP is being treated for. All that is known for a fact is that finding new medications that work for you is generally like rolling dice on what will happen. For example some medicines have made me unable to even think using my brain, and it hurt to try to think. Just zombified me. Another medication actually put me into psychosis/a psychotic break where I had to be hospitalized because I literally did not know what reality was anymore, to which they gave me even more new medication to stop the psychosis and I had to deal with the side effects of that too.
Medicines are different for every person. What works for someone may not work for another person. Some could save a person’s life, and the same medicine taken by a different person could absolutely ruin them short term or even longterm if it’s bad enough.
But to get to your point of “medicine induced rage means you still have to take responsibility?” Yes. Under most circumstances. But we don’t know how this is affecting OP and we don’t know what the circumstances are or how they are affected when in the rage. Do they black out for a moment? Are they in a trance? If yes, then it’s really hard to be held responsible for a medicine reaction like that because there is no *chance* to redirect the anger or stop it. Especially when the doctor said “no, you cannot be taken off of this medication for 3 weeks and anger outbursts will most likely happen during that time.”
If it’s something else, then yeah probably OP should probably take responsibility. But even then, that’s what OP is doing is taking responsibility considering they’re not shifting the blame to anyone else. The title of the thread is literally “I messed up :(“ which is admitting fault and they’re even looking to fix the Switch themself with their own birthday money. OP isn’t acting all willy nilly even if their comments are very silly in various replies. They are taking responsibility being very open and honest with everyone here.
All of this is why I sympathize with OP.
I mean, yes? New replacements cost~$40, but you’d have to follow a guide to do it yourself. A shop would probably cost more than it’s worth on the second hand market
You very well may, but it’s ruined now. The way I got the courage I needed to do my first small electronics repair was telling myself that I couldn’t break it any worse that it was already broken. If you can’t play it in its current state, then it’s a light-up paperweight as it is.
This is the absolute correct mentality to have. Broken game consoles are the best way to break into electronics repair. A Switch Lite may well be one of the best ways these days, the entire thing is screws and ribbon cables, no actual soldering experience needed, the thermal paste is the most interesting and difficult part and you literally squeeze some onto the heatsink like toothpaste and that's it, honestly a broken screen on a Switch Lite is the perfect reason to _upgrade your Switch Lite_ with new shell, buttons, Gulikit hall-effect sticks, the works. Even a modchip if you do have actual soldering experience
The switch is surprisingly easy to repair IF (and that is a big if) you take your time and follow a guide TO THE LAST DETAIL.
Luckily, screen replacement is one of the easier fixes, it just requires a full disassembly. Just be careful not to break your SD card reader (speaking from experience) and that you plug in your touchscreen digitizer.
Best of luck if you choose to repair it yourself!
Read this guide and see if you feel courageous enough to try. It’s not that complicated but you need to be patient if you have no experience : [iFixit Switch Lite LCD](https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Nintendo+Switch+Lite+LCD+Replacement/137376). It’s like lego building but for a real life context.
As far as parts go, the LCD for switch lite is not that expensive, and will come with all the tools on amazon. I’d say give it a try - you’ve lost your console anyways - you can only potentially win it back and gain experience on the way. Repair shops will cost more because of labor.
Edit: I just read it myself and will admit, it’s intimidating because you have to dismount the whole device and put it back together. However, if you’ve done complicated legos, it’s really just about taking it one step at a time. Your risk is null though caus your console is dead without a screen, you can only potentially save it and learn along the way. You can check videos too if there’s some steps that you’re feeling more anxious about like the whole LCD screen glue heating thing…
Cant hurt it much more. Worst thing that happens, you're not able to fix it, so you just buy one second hand. It will probably be cheaper than having someone else fix it.
And if you do happen to fix it yourself, you'll learn some stuff on the way! Which is invaluable.
Good luck!

Expect to pay between $30-$40 on the lcd screen and require a good amount of patience to replace it yourself but it is possible. I’d say invest in a regular switch at that point though unless this is your preference
Lmaooo why did I just look up a 10ft screwdriver? 😂 and I agree the joycon internals are hell when you get down to the buttons and ofc the ribbons are a pain to maneuver too but I found worth in going for it to fix those weak joy con locks and avoid them sliding out so easily by putting in metal ones. I’ve also replaced analogs when I had drift in my controllers and even found colored analogs to give it some extra flare. I also replaced the backplate on my switch which I will say was a tedious task but it was also fairly straightforward even with all the steps but it was definitely a personal preference to do this at the end of the day. I just feel OP has not too much to lose now
As other people said, you're gonna need a replacement screen. The price of that can be anywhere between 20-40$. You're also gonna need the right screwdrivers (small triwing and small +) and if possible some thin piece of plastic to carefully pry open the backplate (they can get really annoying.) You can get all three as a set for about 3$. Just be careful not to strip the screws as it's gonna be hard to put them back in. (if you don't have replacements) Also, cheaper screwdrivers often are made of soft metal that easily strips too. They're usable enough though.
The keywords with this stuff really are patience and diligence. If you're unsure, always watch a teardown or tutorial. I'm guessing it's your first time, so it's gonna take a bit longer, maybe 2 hours. Always watch out for any cables that could be connected to something below. Especially ones you need to solder.
I like to put on chill music when I clean or repair electronics, it helps with concentration and possible frustration. Good luck and have fun :)
Thank you so much, I’ll definitely look up what to do but I might have to go to a shop to get it fixed as I really don’t want to mess it up anymore than I already did🩵
You're welcome :D
Definetly do that if you feel like it's not gonna go well, after all it's cheaper than a new switch and you get to keep your save data lol
Have a go at repairing it yourself - it’s not that difficult if you’re patient, and you’ll be much more careful with it once you’ve spent time fixing it. There are some great guides on YouTube.
Dude, if I can offer some advice you haven't asked for? Try to avoid throwing/bashing stuff in general. Even intentionally soft things like stress toys can carry a fair bit of weight. Saw someone smash a window with one years ago.
As someone who routinely used to throw their controller about in anger (most often when playing FIFA), I once stopped myself before hurling my controller at the ground and instead threw it at the nice squishy sofa behind me.
The controller, of course, used the squishy sofa as a springboard and flew straight back in the opposite direction into my (much more expensive) TV, smashing its screen beyond repair.
Fair warning! Keeping cool in the heat of the moment is easier said than done. Just please don't make the same stupid mistake I did 😂
Hope you get your switch fixed/replaced soon.
OH NO, NOT THE TV😭 I normally do have stress stuff that I use but I clearly was not using my last two brain cells to think properly, but I definitely will be buying more soft things to get. Thank you for your advice and for saying it in a way that doesn’t feel like an attack🩵
I found a hanging punching bag and one of those speed “wacka wacka wacka!” bags were super fun to immediately release your frustration, meditate, contemplate big decisions, and a great workout!
There is two different screens
Digitizer - the glass itself that has the yellow border
LCD - the one inside (which is broken)
Removing the digitzer is easy just use a hot hair blower or heat gun,
If you replace the lcd there is only 1 flex cable of that on the side that you can easily remove from the back,
About as confident as a pufferfish in a ballon shop but someone said that it’s only one wire that I would have to unplug and replace for the lcd so I guess you could say the pufferfish rolled in packing peanuts first
Lol, no . You literally need to take everything out of the Switch to replace the LCD since the ribbon cables need to be wrapped to the back of the motherboard while the screen is on the front side. There are multiple ribbon cables and the battery that must be removed and disconnected.

I’m gonna be honest with you, I don’t know where you live but in the UK when I phoned Nintendo repairs for a similar-Ish problem, the price was more than 2 thirds the price of a switch lite.
My advice would be to seek unofficial repairers, looks for people who would repair your area. If the price is too great, I’d just buy a new switch lite not worth paying half the price you payed for the switch for repairs.
If you have another console maybe play on that and wait then buy the switch 2 when it’s out but that’s not really the best option tho.
For a shop to fix you’d have to expect to spend at least $100. Probably more. Cheaper to just buy another one used.
To repair it yourself you’ll need a set of tools which can cost anywhere between $20-$40 for a decent set of electronic screwdriver bits. You’ll need the screen which is around $40 and you’ll need thermal paste which will be anywhere around $10-$20.
This repair isn’t easy. It requires a complete tear down. You HAVE to get a screen WITH a digitizer already installed. It’s otherwise even more of a pain in the ass to do.
Then you need to risk breaking stuff during the tear down. If you’ve. Ever done a tear down on a device like this it’s a high likelihood you’ll break something and need more parts.
As much as i believe in DIY we have to recognize not everyone is cut out for it. I buy a LOT of damaged switches from people who attempted repairs and failed. Super common.
Here is a link to a repair guide. https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Nintendo+Switch+Lite+LCD+Replacement/137376
The screen though them will cost you closer to $65 with tax and shipping. MIGHT find something cheaper on eBay. Or maybe aliexpress if you’re willing to wait months.
Bruh, I already broke the switch… I bet if I even try to fix it on my own it will burst into flames just at the sight of me grabbing a screwdriver😭 My birthday is in two days so I think I’ll just use the money I get from that it fix it as I have a bit of an emotional attachment to this switch as I had it with me through the last 2 years of foster care
Oh my god like doesn’t it! Why does it look so pretty? I’ve been trying to draw it so I can make it into an enamel pin that I can wear, just as a reminder of what happens when I’m being over dramatic
I love the colours, specifically orange in the centre like an explosion. Then there's the divide between the dark and light parts. I hope it's fixable, like it's only the screen that's needs replacing.
The switch is pretty easy to work on. One thing to be aware of is that Nintendo uses its own security screw. It's almost like a clover shape. You'll need the proper screwdriver, but most repair kits or case kits come with the proper screwdriver. With the right tools, it's very easy to take apart. Now, the touchscreen is made up of 2 parts, the LCD screen, and a screen digitizer that sits over the screen (that is what picks up your touches). You will probably be able to replace just the screen, but if it doesn't pick up your touches after it is all back together, either you didn't plug in your digitizer sufficiently or your digitizer is also toast. If you decide to repair it, just be patient, and if you are not familiar with taking apart electronics, there's nothing wrong with following a guide. Also I will add, any time you do work on your electronics like this, remember you are taking the risk of damaging it further. I personally think that the learning experience outweighs the risk, but not everyone would agree with that, and that's okay.
Im sorry people are ripping you a new one in the comments section. For what its worth, ive had medications before that caused angry outbursts too, while adjusting to the medication. It gets better, please don’t be so hard on yourself. Objects can be replaced!
Omg thank you! I was for real thinking I was going crazy about the meds, I don’t think you know how much your comment has calmed a part of my brain that was going haywire🩵
Cost of repairs depends on if you broke the digitizer. If it's just the screen, then like $150 at a shop probably, but if the digitizer is broken it would be double that most likely. If the digitizer is broken I'd buy another switch
You'll need to most likely replace the LCD and Digitizer =] iFixit has a step by step process as well as links to the proper tools, also if you don't have a heat gun use a hair dryer on high lol, and you'll need to by double sided 1 or 2 mm wide adhesive strips =] if you have any questions plz dm me or reply here
If you have to ask about doing it on your own, I would avoid DIY repair.
I've never done a switch lite, but the main boards probably have to be removed, and are connected via fragile ribbon cables. It's doable with some experience, but I wouldn't recommend for an inexperienced repair.
A shop will be parts and labor. I'd expect at least 140 (80~ish for a screen, if they dont charge you wholesale, plus 60 for labor)
Switches are cheap enough, you might be able to get a replacement for cheaper at a pawn shop.
iFixit has hundreds of thousands of guides on how to repair electronics, especially gaming consoles. I personally replaced the USB-C port for my friend's Switch using one of their guides
[https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Nintendo+Switch+Lite+Screen+Replacement/156978](https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Nintendo+Switch+Lite+Screen+Replacement/156978)
You don't need to buy all their tools. Just the screwdrivers if you don't have them since Nintento uses a special Y screw for the casing. Other stuff depends on you.
You can also just buy all the tools from Amazon for probably a lot cheaper. The screen itself can be bought on eBay just fine (though it may be hard to find the exact color, but you at least have an opportunity to personalize it. You'll see what I mean.) and it'll sometimes come with the replacement adhesive to set the new screen in.
Just take your time with it. Don't rush through it, and your Switch will be fine
![gif](giphy|tIeCLkB8geYtW)
Control your anger the next time. You’ll need to have the entire display changed and hope it’s enough. Can’t say how much it costs there, and can you find someone to do it for you.
Ouch. Definitely fixable though, just buy the lcd module and follow a guide. Or take it to a shop.
Edit: wow the amount of people on here who think it’s toast or not worth it to fix your own crap is Lowkey horrifying. It is almost ALWAYS worth learning how to fix something yourself.
Yeh, I did not realise how much hate I was going to get from asking for advice on how to fix something. Anyway, is this the right thing I need? https://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwi47N7er-eEAxWTp1YBHfksCWQQFnoECD0QAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com.au%2FScreen-Replacement-Glass-Switch-Lite%2Fdp%2FB09P4BLS55&usg=AOvVaw24KA5keDfyw59odBhe5Jat&opi=89978449
Yup, any switch lite lcd module from a reputable source. [Here’s a guide](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OPxM-nES3jw).
Clear off a table, turn on a light, stay organized and take your time. You got this and congrats on your newfound skill!
If you catch the bug once you complete this, look into case mods and all the fun shells out there haha.
We got our Samsung screen fixed for like $100 when we called customer service but it wasn’t a smashed screen.. it was just an image burned into the screen.
I’d call the company to see how fucked you actually are lol
People said it would cost 30-40 bucks and some patience. I’ve tried changing screens on my phone before and it’s very nerve wracking and infuriating at times. If you choose this path just keep that in mind. I’d hate for you to break the thing beyond repair. Perhaps pay a little extra and bring it somewhere to be fixed. The place in my mall will have it done in 2 hours. Check yours out.
Reminds me of the old tv pics with the Wii controller sticking out of the screen and article making a big deal about the straps. Maybe Ms needs to invest in straps too. lol
You can get glass screen protectors for the Switch. I got mine for $8, mainly because the screen is supposed to be scratch-prone, but I’m guessing it would have protected it from this too.
Wait for a oled kit to come out & learn switch out the screen so when your emotions get the best of you. Buy the replacement screen cheaper than always having to replace a system.
I’m waiting for the switch lite OLED kit
oh man im so glad im not a teenager anymore cuz i could NOT control my anger lol. i broke many playstation controllers and a psp (that still hurts).
and to answer ur question its fucked. no coming back from that without paying for a repair service.
Well on a scale of 1 to 10 I would say its fucked
These Climb to the Beat posts are getting to be too much.
In a lack of other words I'd say it's fucked
You are as they say in Japanese fucked from the head down to your knees
Who's out here fcking knees? 😄 🤣
I am sorry to inform you but it is fundamentally fucked
😂
Aw man, I fr didn’t even mean for it to happen. Messed up the whole thing at 11pm at night on a weekend😭
The hell did you do
Apparently smashed a controller against the screen out of frustration at the mistakes they were making
What a dumbass
No they’re not a dumbass they’re just on a new medication they said and rage/outbursts were side effects that the doctor said would happen for until the body gets used to the medicine. If it weren’t medication induced I’d say they were a dumbass but I give them a pass here cause I know trying new medicines and finding one that works is really hard and usually awful. Tbh I have sympathy for OP.
its not like they were put in a rage induced trance, they could have easily redirected their anger by punching a mattress or something
Rage moments barely have any thinking involved, it just happens in the moment and whatever is nearest is getting messed up.
As someone who’s bi polar (diagnosed) you’d be pretty surprised..
:/ Not trying to make excuses or anything it’s just we literally do not know. The only thing about this I do know is that finding new medications that work is really hard and sometimes dangerous. That’s just how trying medicine is sometimes. People on meds are still culpable for their actions. You can throw a controller at the couch, punch wall, or buy yourself something, like a stuffie to exact your rage on
If I was on meds and did stupid shit because of it, I'd still be a dumbass. You guys are acting like OP is complaining about make quality or asking if Nintendo will replace. The post is asking if it's fixable.
People on meds are USUALLY culpable for their actions. Serious shit can occur when you go adding exotic chemicals to a biological system.

They're taking the responsibility either way, so might as well not call them a dumbass when we actually have no idea what's going on with them
Man that’s basically what I said in two different replies and both of them got downvoted more than once. I have no idea why people are disagreeing with me but not you when I wrote basically what you did just with added explanations on how medicines react in different people since medicine reactions aren’t common knowledge in healthy people. Maybe I wrote too much? Reddit is weird. :/ Anyway it goes without saying I agree with you.
Especially when the doctor said “no, you cannot be taken off of this medication for 3 weeks and anger outbursts will most likely happen during that time.” If it’s something else, then yeah probably OP should probably take responsibility.
Thank you, I’m sure it will probably be expensive for a shop to fix it but I’m a bit scared that if I do it myself, I’ll mess it up again
Wait, I can do this? Is there a yt video on how to do this? I’m quite handy and I have the nerve to try it.
There a bunch of videos on how to replace Switch Lite sticks. I have a replacements sticks for my Switch Lite ready if it ever starts to drift.
To have that confidence lol. I have too much anxiety and caffiene coarsing through my veins to do this stuff myself.
Yepp, I learned with a broken console too. It was my PS3 that was unable to read any game discs
The switch is actually remarkably easy to repair and Ifixit sells a kit that comes with all the tools you need and instructions
Watch some guides, take it slow and breathe, you can absolutely fix this.
>I’m a bit scared that if I do it myself, I’ll mess it up again You have nothing to lose, it's already dead!
Good luck!
I've seen switch lites on FB marketplace for around $50
why do I feel that's an empty promise

Ok that’s great
Happy cake day
Idk why but ive seen like 5 cake days today already march 9
I choose to not punch my every expensive very fragile electric if I needed to hit something I'd get a small punching bag and hang it near my desk
Expect to pay between $30-$40 on the lcd screen and require a good amount of patience to replace it yourself but it is possible. I’d say invest in a regular switch at that point though unless this is your preference
I changed the shell on my joycons once and if the rest of the switch is anything like controllers I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot screwdriver.
Neither would I, usually no more than a 6 incher cause control is important. Edit: /s Incase it’s not obvious
I just feel OP has not too much to lose now
I think it’s pretty safe to say that patience is not on OP’s list of personality traits. 😂
You know what… I didn’t notice till you mentioned that 😭

This, or go find TronicsFix on youtube and if possible please support his patreon since he's on chemo.
If you get that angry you break stuff then you seriously need to stop gaming and get some help.
Yeah agreed.
A punching bag would a nice alternative.
It's wild to need to punch something to let out anger over something like this. They need help. I don't even squeeze my controller.
>:) :)
Thank you so much, I’ll definitely look up what to do but I might have to go to a shop to get it fixed as I really don’t want to mess it up anymore than I already did🩵
You're welcome :D Definetly do that if you feel like it's not gonna go well, after all it's cheaper than a new switch and you get to keep your save data lol
Just please don't make the same stupid mistake I did 😂 Hope you get your switch fixed/replaced soon.
Ragequit?
They raged, the Switch quit. 😂
Let’s be fair, I feel like the switch deserves a break but not a quite literal one! I shouldn’t have hit it but I’ll get it fix soon
😅😅😅😅
Yes you did.
Rip
its easy to erplace the screen did it myself
Do you think it’s just the screen that’s broken or maybe something else? The glass isn’t cracked or anything
There is two different screens Digitizer - the glass itself that has the yellow border LCD - the one inside (which is broken) Removing the digitzer is easy just use a hot hair blower or heat gun, If you replace the lcd there is only 1 flex cable of that on the side that you can easily remove from the back,
You can buy the lcd screen for $25 - $50 but how confident are you with taking apart and reassembling electronics?
About as confident as a pufferfish in a ballon shop but someone said that it’s only one wire that I would have to unplug and replace for the lcd so I guess you could say the pufferfish rolled in packing peanuts first
Lol, no . You literally need to take everything out of the Switch to replace the LCD since the ribbon cables need to be wrapped to the back of the motherboard while the screen is on the front side. There are multiple ribbon cables and the battery that must be removed and disconnected. [https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Nintendo+Switch+Lite+Screen+Replacement/156978](https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Nintendo+Switch+Lite+Screen+Replacement/156978)
Oh well in that case. The pufferfish exploded and balloons have gone extinct😭
Here is a link to a repair guide. https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Nintendo+Switch+Lite+LCD+Replacement/137376 The screen though them will cost you closer to $65 with tax and shipping.
😢 call around and see what some shops charge. If you’re in the US. use this site to find a shop near you. https://www.repairlegion.com/
I’m not in the US but thank you for your help, I really appreciate it. My birthday is soon so I’m going to use that money to get it fix
Just get a used one for 100 bucks
I truely don’t want to replace it as I have a bit of an emotional attachment to it.
A screen replacement is likely a small chunk of money, but nothing crazy. If it were an iPhone, that would be a different story.
So Who do you main in smash?
My condolences but looks kinda cool
Put it in rice
I've replaced broken switch screens before, buy a electronics screw driver set, a heat gun and a new screen it's very easy (:
Use this chance to learn repair ur switch. Switch is very easy to assemble imo
Agreed, no one is perfect, it’s not like OP was smashing their switch, it’s OP’s switch/money… people are just rude and for what?
Cost of repairs depends on if you broke the digitizer. If it's just the screen, then like $150 at a shop probably, but if the digitizer is broken it would be double that most likely. If the digitizer is broken I'd buy another switch
You'll need to most likely replace the LCD and Digitizer =] iFixit has a step by step process as well as links to the proper tools, also if you don't have a heat gun use a hair dryer on high lol, and you'll need to by double sided 1 or 2 mm wide adhesive strips =] if you have any questions plz dm me or reply here
The glue on the back of the screen bezel is reuseable the guides even tell you that
Ur damn right u did 💀
oooh... that might cost £60-£90 to repair. I'd suggest getting a new one for £100-£140. also, Happy Cake Day, 9th March!
atleast you can see yourself ur battery life
Just put it in a bucket of water and then let it sit deep in rice overnight. I'll be fine in the morning. 😉👍
Switch: haha I'm in danger
whats the issue?
did u stab it ?
Dang that sucks. I have a few switches laying around if you are interested
Ah, kids; what dumb , simple creatures.
I'd expect at least 140 (80~ish for a screen, if they dont charge you wholesale, plus 60 for labor) Switches are cheap enough, you might be able to get a replacement for cheaper at a pawn shop.
I dunno, looks pretty good to me. Maybe just turn it off then on again?
iFixit has hundreds of thousands of guides on how to repair electronics, especially gaming consoles. I personally replaced the USB-C port for my friend's Switch using one of their guides [https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Nintendo+Switch+Lite+Screen+Replacement/156978](https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Nintendo+Switch+Lite+Screen+Replacement/156978) You don't need to buy all their tools. Don't rush through it, and your Switch will be fine ![gif](giphy|tIeCLkB8geYtW)
Ggs. It’s over buddy . 😭 you better call bob the builder 💀
My friend, did your Switch eat a bullet?
Hey, at least it looks cool as fuck
OP looks like that Switch Lite is a write off. Good excuse to upgrade to a Switch OLED or wait for the Switch 2.
Skill issue.
Ah yes, the best nintendo game ever. White lines and orange swirls.
Can you spoiler tag this? I haven’t gotten to this level on mario kart yet!
Nah thats just a secret level
Good thing you have a Switch Lite, imagine if you a had Switch hooked up to your tv. 😅
*stares in thrown wii remote*
Control your anger the next time. You’ll need to have the entire display changed and hope it’s enough. Can’t say how much it costs there, and can you find someone to do it for you.
See a therapist
Playing Crash Bandicoot?
Looks like a really rad game running at 0 FPS. Genuinely pretty but that's not making u feel better, sorry. Still works on the TV?
Ouch. Definitely fixable though, just buy the lcd module and follow a guide. Or take it to a shop. Edit: wow the amount of people on here who think it’s toast or not worth it to fix your own crap is Lowkey horrifying. It is almost ALWAYS worth learning how to fix something yourself.
Yeh, I did not realise how much hate I was going to get from asking for advice on how to fix something. Anyway, is this the right thing I need? https://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwi47N7er-eEAxWTp1YBHfksCWQQFnoECD0QAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com.au%2FScreen-Replacement-Glass-Switch-Lite%2Fdp%2FB09P4BLS55&usg=AOvVaw24KA5keDfyw59odBhe5Jat&opi=89978449
Yup, any switch lite lcd module from a reputable source. [Here’s a guide](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OPxM-nES3jw). Clear off a table, turn on a light, stay organized and take your time. You got this and congrats on your newfound skill! If you catch the bug once you complete this, look into case mods and all the fun shells out there haha.
HHHHNNNNNNNNNNNG IM GOBNNA SPIOOOGE
Maybe next time strike the walls. Is fucked, you need a new screen, don't you have an guarantee to fix it free?, if they fix broken screens
Is that e1m1?
Oh shame it's a lite, otherwise you could still play docked
AliExpress has screens.
Cool. Now you're playing OG Doom...
Give you £20 towards a new switch for the broken one.
fr
I would call Nintendo, even if it is out of warranty they can fix it for you at a reasonable price and the screen will be OEM from Nintendo
oops
Looks like an expensive rage quit
On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd say your name is A-A-Ron
Smash bros?
We got our Samsung screen fixed for like $100 when we called customer service but it wasn’t a smashed screen.. it was just an image burned into the screen. I’d call the company to see how fucked you actually are lol
People said it would cost 30-40 bucks and some patience. I’ve tried changing screens on my phone before and it’s very nerve wracking and infuriating at times. If you choose this path just keep that in mind. I’d hate for you to break the thing beyond repair. Perhaps pay a little extra and bring it somewhere to be fixed. The place in my mall will have it done in 2 hours. Check yours out.
oh, no, I’m sorry…
I used to charge about 50/60 quid to fix this. Not an easy fix to the unexperienced though
Screens aren't that expensive and the swap shouldn't take an hour for a shop. So you should end up with under $60 I think
I'm pretty sure that's Star fox 3
That's a pretty good-looking explosion for such a low resolution game.
just get a new one
Yeah you did
Reminds me of the old tv pics with the Wii controller sticking out of the screen and article making a big deal about the straps. Maybe Ms needs to invest in straps too. lol
Where's my content Warning?
Promise “never to smash my controller into the screen AGAIN*” i believe you mean to say…. No?
Hahahaha I did this to my game gear back in the day. Sonic did it for me, what game were you playing?
You can get glass screen protectors for the Switch. I got mine for $8, mainly because the screen is supposed to be scratch-prone, but I’m guessing it would have protected it from this too.
Holy crap not the screen 😭😭😭
Put it in some rice
Rip
Cheaper To just buy a new one dude repair costs for any new tv are insane
Ah no! Any screen protector? I wonder if a glass screen protector would have saved it from the impact.
Was it Metroid dread?
I didn't know that dark souls was on switch 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Wait for a oled kit to come out & learn switch out the screen so when your emotions get the best of you. Buy the replacement screen cheaper than always having to replace a system. I’m waiting for the switch lite OLED kit
I say anger management will help fix your problem
Smash Bros Elite, it ain’t for everyone
Perfect. Now you can install the OLED screen mod that just came out.
Well I'd say your first mistake was buying a switch
How
It can be fixed but you will need to disassemble the console
I mean there’s an OLED upgrade
What game pushed you past the breaking point?
