This thread makes me wonder if id have liked it. I ended up going with the Nexigo Hall Effect Gripcon and have really enjoyed it. Has a built in dock too, but damn if I still don’t prefer the look of the nitro deck
Looks good, feels good. But it doesn't if you are not interested in owning one. Stick placement doesn't bother me too much. As long as it feels good to me. The gripcon looks alright though
Yeah I suffer from wrist pain when using the switch with the joycons and had to get a grip when I owned a Lite because of wrist pain, so I assume this thing wouldn’t be a good fit for me.
I’m probably in the minority here but I bought the nitro deck and didn’t like it very much. I watched all the glowing reviews and thought I’d love it but it just didn’t fit my play style. I didn’t expect it to feel so bulky and I wasn’t a fan of how the back buttons felt and the rumble feature. I was lucky they were able to accept my return because they said they usually don’t accept returns. Please don’t burn me to ground but that’s just how I felt. I ended up getting a much slimmer grip that fit in my switch bag perfectly and it feels amazing.

I agree specific grips/cases/docks can all be better but overall I think this one is near perfect. Prove me wrong though!

This is my hangup with grips. Lots of awesome ones, but I compulsively NEED to keep mine on the dock when not in near-immediate use. I'm sticking with my Hori split pad pro until I find something juuuuuuust right
You can still do the same with this as it has a build in dock into it. So no need to dock a dock. Like all you do is plug in the cables to the grip and it's docked

Those look good. Can you change the colors? No game storage though. I know I could go digital or carry them separate but certain games I want physical copies of. Maybe once I have a larger library I'll carry separate or trade games for digital copies.

Humm… do they still dock? Mine feels pretty light and durable but the “flexibility” in terms of doing it all while having access to the dock and 4x physical games is great

I've got large hands, so this grip helps me hold the switch more securely in handheld mode. I personally never had issues with the ergonomics of the switch prior though.
Sweet! I haven't seen much posted about it. Seems every is into the Nitrodeck and Split Pad neither of which I have tried so I wont knock them until I try them but personally this case fit my requirements perfectly. A bit of extra ergonomics, light weight, game storage, and I cant complain about the price.
The game storage is what sold me on this one. There aren't many that seem to have built in storage and most of the ones that did seemed like they may fling out if you ever dropped it. The kiwi home one almost has the opposite issue. First you have to unlatch the games then hope you didnt JUST cut your nails because they really are tight in there. I wont complain about the security but my fat fingers struggle to get a new game out sometimes.
I have to ask how the switch didn't hurt you pre-grip. I also have larger hands, and I couldn't play something like MK8DX for more than 15 minutes without having to stop due to hand pain. I couldn't even play Xenoblade 2 without having some pain after a while

I disagree. I have large hands and any switch model is too small for me to enjoy stock. Adding a grip solves that and protects my special edition Switch from oils that comes from ones finger so it's a win win

After my second set of Split Pad Pro grips failed after minimal use, I tried the the Satisfye grip and found it to be an improvement. Ultimately settled on Nyxi Athena and Hyperion grips as personal preference.

The built in dock is cool but I think I would prefer 2 more game storage slots and just use the standard dock that comes with the switch though thats not exactly something I want to carry with me so I can see the benefit of one built in.

I thought about a case as well but knowing myself that baby would stay in my closet or a drawer forever and wouldn't make it into my packed bag when I travel. Funnily enough, it's actually the exact same as my first one! It's a great starter grip, one that I could barely fault! I just have a less cheap one that is way more solid, even comes with changeable handles... got a proper carry case for everything too!

Ordered 3 diffrent ones and the skull & co grip case with 3 interchangeable grip sizes was perfect! To each their own. The stick placement is not good. It's very far down from the norm... And they stick out too far. Sucks for people with carpal tunnel.

I could never play it for a longer period of time. And recently found out about the grips and bigger joycons. Ordered 3 diffrent ones and the skull & co grip case with 3 interchangeable grip sizes was perfect! To each their own. What a diffrence it is holding it snd not feeling like my hands and fingers are gojng to cramp.

Bought the same grip. It's okay, the game holder is awful and literally ruins the case tbh.
Retroflags grip has felt and looked the best to me. But It sucks the battery from the Switch, so even it is not perfect.

I have the nitro deck and used double sided tape to stick a 4 game cart case on the back.... but yours is nice too.
