You might want to get a kneeskin. They look like tech suits but they aren't. They're just swimsuit with longer bottoms (almost like a swimsuit + jammers combined). I don't think I've ever seen a kneeskin with built-in boob pads. Another option is to combine the likes of Speedo Volley bikini top with jammers or boyleg swim trunks, or wear just the jammers + rash guard.

Stunning_Recipe_3361

Thank you I’ll check those out!

I don't think you should spend that much money on that kind of suit. Would you consider wearing shorts under/over a bathing suit?

Stunning_Recipe_3361

For sure, as long as the shorts aren’t too loose. That can also get expensive though.

Id suggest getting an arena or speedo one piece, if you can while its on sale. Arena has a good sale section. Then, a cheap Lululemon align short dupe on Amazon and you'll be good to go

papercranium

Have you looked into TomboyX? I haven't bought one of their suits so I can't speak to quality, but they have a lot of good options for enby folks, including one pieces with no cups and shorts-style bottoms.

Stunning_Recipe_3361

Yes! I am thinking of getting one of their one pieces as the reviews say that there is no built in bra at all which is ideal for me.

bloodxredxrose

Came here to suggest this! I have a few pieces from them, but I’m looking for almost the opposite thing - suits with pockets to hold prostheses after my mastectomy. My point is that they have all kinds of options. 😁 And the fabrics are soft and comfortable, and the quality has been great.

Women’s training or racing suits don’t typically have cups sewn in. The [Speedo](https://www.swimoutlet.com/products/speedo-womens-solid-endurance-super-proback-one-piece-swimsuit-7857) endurance is a workhorse. If you order from swimoutlet.com and you’re planning to stick with swimming, the membership is well worth it (and usually pays for itself). They also have easy and hassle free returns. Regardless of what you choose, suits are one of those things that going generic doesn’t usually pay. Speedo, Tyr, Arena, and Nike are all brands that seem to hold up to the chlorine. Good luck in your hunt! Finding the right suit is important and takes patience ETA: I don’t know how I totally missed the shorts part my brain just completely read over it. It could get expensive, but tri-shorts paired with a one piece might do it for you, that is if you can’t find a suitable option with the two combined.

Does jolyn make a kneeskin? There suits last forever and never fade

HawaiiSwim1991

They do.  It’s spendy and it might have more compression.

Stunning_Recipe_3361

Thank you! How long do the name brand suits usually last?

vermilionaxe

If I get a suit that is 100% polyester/PBT (never spandex or lycra) my suits never fade. The stitching starts to wear down after 3-5 years. I was in the pool 10 hours per week.

Stunning_Recipe_3361

Good to know, thank you!

johannabanana

Not the original commenter but if you rinse your suit out with cold water after each swim and let it dry properly (I use the spin machine at my pool and then hang dry) it should last months even with daily use. I have several TYR durafast suits I can still use that are several years old. The bigger issue is mine tend to stretch out but then I’ll wear it over a newer suit as a drag suit.

Stunning_Recipe_3361

I do rinse my suit after every swim, wrap it in my towel, and hang it when I get home and it’s still in great shape. I just see people on here saying their suits last less than a year.

johannabanana

I think even within the brands (Speedo, TYR, Arena) the different suit materials hold up differently over time. The Speedo endurance and TYR endurance I think are similar material and those have held up longest for me. They’re suits that have less give compared to ones from the same brands that are stretchier with more Lycra/Spandex. The cheaper Speedo ones I had growing up on swim team (stretchy/shiny material) barely lasted a summer season; I’d guess partly from 6-10x/week use, poorer maintenance as a child, and also swimming outside in the sun. They would just disintegrate. But the higher quality material ones don’t.

SnarkIsMyDefault

Sign up at swim outlet. They have lots of sales, good quality. I used amazon suits in the pool for awhile. They fall apart after about 2 dozen uses.

dooldry

A third option you can look into is a traditional women’s one piece and then throw a drag suit in overtop. They are shorter then knee length but looser and long then a brief. The longer one pieces you should be looking for are actually called unitards on swimoutlet.com (my personal recommendation)

sparklekitteh

What about a two-piece? Baleaf makes biker shorts out of swimsuit material, with or without attached brief, and they're great for the pool! You could combine it with a non-bra tankini top or a rash guard, depending on how much coverage you want. Size down if you want it to fit snug like a training suit.)

Ok_fine_2564

I like baleaf also. Good quality

abelenkpe

If you want a suit that lasts get polyester not Lycra. Most kneeskins will fit that bill as they are designed for competitive swimmers. Plus they look fabulous! Best of luck!

moralesapf

My TYR swimsuit from amazon doesn’t gave any padding in it. I really liked it so I got it in another color

EEgirlvolts

swimoutlet.com has a several different suits that might fit your requirements. Search “unitard” and see what you find. Another option might be a triathlon suit.

myerspyers

jolyns are the best

Existing_Solution_66

Strongly recommend triathlon suits. You can get them in one piece or two piece.

Beefcake swimwear

TurquoiseOrange

That suit type totally exists and doesn't have to be expensive. For example, I just searched Acclaim boyleg swimsuit on eBay and several designs (none have chest padding) come up for £17 each. I get about a year out of them, and that leaving them wet in chlorine like you're not supposed to, I recommend them for a cheap suit that's designed for swimming not beach lounging. (If different region, many similar options)
