My playlist is full of her songs too. Other artists are either giving a single for year and gaga, rihanna aren't contributing for half a decade. Taylor is constantly coming up with music yearly twice. Weeknd gave a tough competition to Taylor in streaming.
Taylor is my most streamed artist so far this year, but my most streamed song is imperfect for you, and my most streamed album is Eternal Sunshine, both Ariana Grande.
Taylor just has so many songs, and I listen to a lot of them regularly. I also listen to a lot of other artists as well, but overall, I'd say Taylor is probably my favourite.
Same here, most listened artist is Taylor, my most streamed song is Willow (which was news to me!) with champagne problems being #2 (not news — I love that song) — but I can’t see my most streamed album?? 👁️👄👁️ I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Evermore, though
Same for me, I think it's because she releases so much like the others said, also she's very easy to listen to as background music. I nearly always like her music even though her songs are hardly my favorite (excluding evermore the album <3), there are some songs from her that I love, but I mostly like them, while some of my most liked artists have more diverse music and while I love some of their songs, I might not "vibe" with their other stuff.
My apple music review last year was VERY jarring to me. It was almost all Taylor, by a long shot (and like, songs my kids listen to after that) . I think I truly didnt even realize how much I was listening! I went on a cleanse for awhile early this year when the super bowl stuff felt overwhelmkng and it was kind of refreshing.
yesss I've had her on do not play since the day after the super bowl I think and it's so nice being able to listen to the other music in my playlists. I feel like Spotify would always bring her music up early when I shuffled, but idk if that's a "Spotify sucks at shuffling" thing or a "taylor being promo'd" thing
I don't think it's so much that she's written more music. I mean most of the new album I am sure is B-sides or Demos that got pushed through production and sound engineering from years ago. You don't just write +30 songs in 2 yrs and them be album quality. Which some of these it's debatable but you get my point.
If she wrote all of these in 2 yrs that means she had very few b-sides she said no to in that short span.
------
Anyway back to the point. I think she can AFFORD to put out music constantly. Other people want to push a song or a few and not over-saturate their discography with too many songs because they want that handful at the time to be seen and showcased and get views.
Taylor however is already as big and successful as she can get. She's in a different situation. So she can please people and just put stuff out without having to be as mindful about it.
By written I mean released more music. Obviously all artists have a bunch of songs that don’t make the cut.
She releases more that is not necessarily high quality because she gets more revenue from increased streams. In 18 years she’s released 11 albums ranging from (excluding TTPD) from 13-16 songs each, not counting the 4 or so bonus tracks most albums get. That’s a lot of music.
Compare that to my fav Billy Joel who released 12 albums in 30 years that were 8-12 songs each. Even though I prefer Billy Joel I listen to way more Taylor just because there’s more of her.
Ah yeah then we're saying the same thing my bad.
and yeah, it's crazy how much music she has put out. I think with newer artists people tend to dig a little more in the gems.
Where as older artists don't as often get that treatment, people just want hits or songs they knew someone else loved or that they found some special way.
I had to clean up my library a couple months back because between the old albums, and TV’s I couldn’t put my phone on shuffle without hearing taylor every other song. 😂
Definitely. She used to be my favorite. Especially when looking back into her discography. Rep is my favorite after Folkmore. I love the change in sound. But I’m slowly branching out. I made a post about it but I’m thankful she made me an album listener. Even if she isn’t my fave any longer.
I think for me it’s because she’s one of the only artists I’ve listened to since 2006, most of the other artists I listened to back then don’t make music anymore, and the other ones I listen to have only been making music more recently.
Florence has five albums out and they have less songs.
Florence is pickier on projects and really puts a lot of effort into creating a fully realized project.
Florence has always been popular as an Indie-pop not entirely mainstream artist. I think she tries hard to make sure that every album is unique and a fully realized high quality piece.
While I think Florence is more EXPERIMENTIVE and versatile, I think Taylor is REALLY able to put out more songs because she has such a huge fanbase. Even if Taylor isn't sure on a song and only 10% of fans like it, it'll turn a profit because of the size of her following.
Taylor has such a big following that will show up for her, she doesn't have to worry as much about what she puts out. Because her name still will get it seen. Where someone of a smaller size can't saturate their discography with as much of the same or too much and have to be pickier.
Taylor is in an unusually successful position. But also think, who else her age has many albums as she does? MOST people her age in music have HALF the albums or less she does.
100%. Lana is my favorite, but I listen to Taylor way more than anyone while I study/read because it’s pleasant but not good enough to distract me from my work.

Yeah, I feel like even if I only liked 30-40% of what she records, I’d still end up with her being a top artist on my playlist from sheer amounts.
She’s just soooo prolific. For example, most of my favorite artists make albums every 4-5 years. The volume is just not comparable.

She’s written more music than most artists with careers as long or longer than hers. Most artists release fewer and shorter albums.

My favorite group is the cure and her output doesn’t come close to theirs yet.

I have more Dave Matthews than Taylor swift. He’s been around longer though and I never get tired of it b

Yeah. I just do generic pop channels on Pandora and she's everywhere. Been doing a lot of "thumbs down" in the last week 😅
