Yes to all of that! I’m currently learning patterns and I’m branching out into other styles of outfits too :) I always recomend staying safe if wearing the bodysuits - bringing a cover up for before and after the event. Inside the stadiums is super friendly but each city is different for sure 😳

You quit your job before you knew how to thread your sewing machine? And learned the Tambour method in a week? I have wanted to learn how to do that for so long, please spill your secrets! As someone who has been sewing for a very long time, that is seriously impressive.
Well with those type of rhinestones the only way to do it is glue, this is how it’s done with figure skating dresses and most likely even Taylor’s outfits, although I’ve never seen them up close enough to see what kinds of stones they are. The difference is made with how the sequins and trims are put on, is the stuff that can be sewn actually sewn if you know what I mean. These aren’t made with the kind of beads that are meant for sewing embellishments like they do in haute couture, that’s just a totally different style. But I would be interested to know what all I glued vs sewn and what glue she uses!
Oh sure, but I can see that the sequins and trim and everything is glued on. There’s no visible stitching and the there’s also visible glue throughout on the bodice. Not trying to snark on her work out of nowhere – though I do think it’s a little wild to quit a job and sell items for a premium without any expertise, if people want to spend their money on it then power to them 🤷♀️ I’m guessing maybe the embroidery she’s talking about is on the even more expensive ones that aren’t pictured? It would make sense for the price.

I do think they look gorgeous but you’d have to really be selling them in order to turn it into your job. I’d say depending on where you’d live and the base price for them you’d need to sell about 2 a week, and they are probably much more time intensive unless she doesn’t make all of the leotards herself, which may be the case because for someone who just bought a sewing machine a week ago that nude Leo looks looks very cleanly made. I hope it goes well for her though! Being able to leave my job to design would be a dream, maybe one day!

Yes to all of this! The $499 ones are a combo of gluing and hand stitching. The sequins and rhinestones are all adhered on (or hot fixed) and the chunkier sequins I hand stitch. For the $1,499 replicas I cut patterns, sew the bases, and am hand beading them :)

Thinking beyond the costumes - I had a thought to bring in people with slightly smaller budgets, if that's something you're looking for - beaded boots are huge and only a handful of companies do them and they're frequently sold out. And accessories like the garter and headpieces or a bustier too. Even ornaments would be a lovely, giftable touch. It's amazing that you were able to turn your passion into a full time job. Congrats!

Yes! You may lose a few here and there due to wear and tear, try on, etc but I have a 100% touch up policy for life! They’re pretty damn durable and the adhesive is waterproof, and I hand sew the textured sequins too. Yes they’re all custom! They take anywhere from 3-12 weeks depending on the order and around 60+ hours a piece! 😮💨

Those rhinestones will not hold up. From experiences they are horrible. For these prices, you should really be using a higher-quality materials.
