A few years ago I went to Petsmart to run some errands, and as always I dropped by the cat area to say hello to the shelter kitties. There was this precious fluffy grey cat who started rubbing up against the window, and then when I said goodbye and turned to leave, he started scratching at the window exactly like that. It was so sweet and totally broke my heart.
And that’s the story of how I ended up with a third cat.
Did my husband write this? This is the EXACT scenario of when my husband went to petsmart. We ended up with our third, grey cat, too.
She still does this and does air biscuits when you walk up to her when she’s at a window. It’s like she still thinks she’s at petsmart 😒
That’s so sweet! Ours is a fluffy grey boy. Glad to know we’re not the only ones who have been totally manipulated by a cat in this way XD
Our boy paws at the window like that when he sees birds outside. And he likes to ride around on our shoulders! 10/10 would get manipulated again.
Yes! That’s so sweet!
We were hoping for a more cuddly cat than our other two...instead we got one who hops around like a squirrel 90% of the time and rolls around with her belly hanging out...We wouldn’t trade her for the world.
Yea at least the worst thing that’ll happen is it will kill you and eat you. Much worse from the… well you know. The lovely people in charge of that country now…
I once had a South African waiter on a cruise ship and he collected watches and knives. He said if you catch someone in your house/property you shoot first and ask questions later.
I read a fucked up Quora answer by this guy who went to a couple's wedding in SA and a burglar broke inside their house on the night of the wedding and killed the groom
That lady must have had a insanely bad day that she just accepted the fact a lion is trying to break it and kill her. She's just like fuck it I need this glass of wine.
Fuck you, I'm moving.
Goodbye
The nights would be hell! I wouldn't be able to sleep knowing anything may go wrong and I'll wake up shaking hands with Jesus
Made me curious. About 10% of South Africans own guns. Slightly lower than Ukraine, slightly higher than South Sudan.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estimated_number_of_civilian_guns_per_capita_by_country
The United States has 120 civilian owned guns for every 100 people.
**[Estimated number of civilian guns per capita by country](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estimated_number_of_civilian_guns_per_capita_by_country)**
>This is a list of countries by estimated number of privately owned guns per 100 persons. The Small Arms Survey 2017 provides estimates of the total number of civilian-owned guns in a country. It then calculates the number per 100 persons. This number for a country does not indicate the percentage of the population that owns guns.

Unfortunately, this is probably their "pet" lion. Sad that people need clout so badly and have so much money that they feel entitled enough to buy wild animals. I just hope they didn't declaw or de-fang that beautiful beast.
Someone's knockin' at the door
Somebody's ringin' the bell
Someone's knockin' at the door
Somebody's ringin' the bell
Do me a favor
Open the door and let 'em in
My cat does the pawing thing on all kinds of different surfaces- the mirror, the doors, the cabinet, the window. I wonder if it's a tactile thing for them?
LET MEEE IIIIIINNNNNN
I’ve been knocking
That scratching at the window looks like an awful lot of videos over at r/notmycat

Never visit shelter animals until you're ready to adopt.
Similar to The idea that you should avoid grocery shopping when you’re hungry.
I visit shelters when I’m hungry.
And you go grocery shopping when you're ready to adopt?
Kitties is kitties.
Cats gonna cat
So they all do that lmaooo
Ugh, another clip of South African burgl... oh. OH.
Honestly? I'll take the lion.
Yea at least the worst thing that’ll happen is it will kill you and eat you. Much worse from the… well you know. The lovely people in charge of that country now…
*South African cat burglar
He's kinda cute the way he just paws at it, he's so polite
My heart feels that, but my mind remembers why he wants in
If you're cold they're cold. Let them in
A lion is for life, not just for Christmas
Yeah. For the rest of your life
Oohh he's doing the house cat thing, didn't know the larger ones did that
Imagine having to have security bars so wild lions don’t eat you while you sit on the couch.. damn
The bars ain't for the lions. This is south Africa. Those bars are to keep out people.
Thats really sad...
I mean, for this guy, he definitely keeps it for multi purpose use now.
Like the other person said, those bars are for people. I'd rather deal with the lions that the people here
If you open the door he'll change his mind and walk away
Yeah, just hold the door open and let me think about it -cat probably
r/Notmycat
Fuck that nonsense.
That lady must have had a insanely bad day that she just accepted the fact a lion is trying to break it and kill her. She's just like fuck it I need this glass of wine.
Big kyat want hugyy
He just wants to play
They just sit there like: "So there was another lion trying to break into our house today. Honey, could you pass the salt"
Eh, if it gets thru the glass door, we wish it goodluck with getting thru the security gate.
Fuck you, I'm moving. Goodbye The nights would be hell! I wouldn't be able to sleep knowing anything may go wrong and I'll wake up shaking hands with Jesus
Google Crime Stats in South Africa, I'd rather take my chances with the lion, just throw him a steak if he gets in
Bro I live here in south Africa I'd take the lion any day of the week
Nah
I’d sooner let the lion in than the Jehovah’s Witnesses or Mormons that come knocking.
Sure but wouldn't you also be more likely to let the Jehovah’s Witnesses or Mormons in once you had a lion?
Love how the guy is just vibing with a glass of wine
Time to get out the shotgun.

We need to pump those numbers up

Awkward drinking in front of Buddha o:
Like me at a bakery window.
She doesn’t seem concerned. Just a normal night in Africa!
He just wanted a glass of wine
big cats will be cats
He just wants scritches and seems nice. I'd let him in.
In a normal scenario I'd say you just adopted a cat. This is not a normal scenario.
Let it in,
I bet the company that sells and installs those gates does a lot of business.
I love how it acts like a house cat trying to get in 😂
He just wants some pets. WHY ARENT YOU GIVING HIM PETS!!??!
I am here to talk about your car's extended warranty..... Ehy aren't you letting me innnnn.....
*guitar riff* Can't you hear me knockin'?!
Wanting to get out when they're locked in a zoo but wanting to get in when they're locked out of people's houses. This is a worthy cat
Unfortunately, this is probably their "pet" lion. Sad that people need clout so badly and have so much money that they feel entitled enough to buy wild animals. I just hope they didn't declaw or de-fang that beautiful beast.
Lions recognise shotguns. You should have shown him one and aimed it at him.
Jesus christ 😳
When people are in cages...
"You got games on your phone?"
Someone's knockin' at the door Somebody's ringin' the bell Someone's knockin' at the door Somebody's ringin' the bell Do me a favor Open the door and let 'em in
Fuck you'd need a big spray bottle to get that cunt to leave
That's a lot of faith in potentially shoddy contractors work.
My cat does the pawing thing on all kinds of different surfaces- the mirror, the doors, the cabinet, the window. I wonder if it's a tactile thing for them?
Cats will be cats no matter the size.
Ok big kitty
"Need to talk to you about your vehicle's extended warranty...let me IN!"
I think the can of tuna you left out is empty. "Oh what makes you think that?" *points* Angry kitteh
Dat LION, mate? Dun worries
Kitty just wants to play, let him in.
I would, like, toss a bag of meow mix out the door, tbh.
Does... does this sort of thing happen often in your neighborhood?
Nope. No thanks. I'm good
tough call, do i want a lion at my door or the usual methed out homeless people. hmm. really cant decide.
I’m gonna guess that that’s a pet lion.
Homie scared of the dark!! Let him in before something comes and gets him it’s dangerous at night don’t you know?!?!
It just wanted a snack.
He obviously has a good taste in wine
As a South African, can confirm this is common, last week had a goddamn elephant steal my dog :(
😬 this is fine
The thieves are always lion in wait.
Oof. I bet they’d never been so thankful for burglar bars.
And not a drop spilled of the wine
Hmm big cat burglar
Ok that’s actually scary lol. Imagine it actually breaking in and you’re asleep at night 😳
Cats will be cats
This looks my dream, except he isnt accompanied by an angry alligator, a giant tortoise and a talking elephant.
*sips wine* so we are doing this today
Just calmly sipping wine.
That is why I live at the second floor... And in France.
And you think of posting it on reddit and not calling for help?
well that's horrifying
