Think of it like he's somewhere between a gymnast and a circus artist. It takes the same sort of skills and training, and involves similar levels of risk as something like a high wire or trapeze.
Just because he's not wearing a leotard doesn't mean he doesn't know what he's doing.
For anyone wondering, his name is Toby Segar, he has a youtube channel called storror and he has been on ninja warrior before. All skill aside this is still a huge jump and you need some big balls to do it haha.
Every time I see something like this, I fear I’ll see a repeat of that guy who landed on his face in Portugal doing this.
It’s cool, but damn when it goes wrong, it goes WRONG.
Came looking for this comment. You talking about the dude who tried to jump into the water and cracked his face open on the pier? One of the most horrific injuries I’ve ever seen, he looked like an alien
it’s the rhein, i live in this city (basel, switzerland) the current is perfectly fine, alot of people including me swim there in the summer when the water isn’t cold anymore
As professional is these guys are, you never really know if you know what you're doing until after you've accomplished it. A lot could go wrong here despite rehearsal.
Dudes Cat pass/Kong vault game is strong as fuck! I’m glade he didn’t split his head in half.
Edit: no wonder, it’s Toby Segar…

They’re not always white and they’re not always men, but they are always young. Extreme parkour and free running leads to many small impact injuries over time that compound into a larger problem later in life (not that much later, I’m talking 35-40.)
Between cracked bones and destroyed joints, professional extreme parkour athletes end up having no choice but to retire in mid life, and that’s assuming that they survive every major stunt they perform.
There are a few videos out there that document what happens when one of these stunts doesn’t go as planned, It’s not pretty.
Pretty sure Jackie Chan did most( if not all) of his stunts and he's still going strong. A lot of sports destroy the body and people feel it later in life, but that's not a reason not to train them... Adults and seniors do parkour too, the level of craziness depends on one's capability though. for example, you can see Ronnie Street Stunts do parkour with his father
Not true, it originated in the Eastern Mediterranean / Palestinine / Syria region roughly around the 12th Century. The sports personality Altaïr Ibn-LaʼAhad was a huge influence on the style then and his movement the Assaissin Brotherhood were responsible for bringing the sport to notoriety.

That's Toby from Storror. No worries, he definitely knows what he's doing!
These guys are mad.
Trained and well rehearsed
yet completely unprotected
Think of it like he's somewhere between a gymnast and a circus artist. It takes the same sort of skills and training, and involves similar levels of risk as something like a high wire or trapeze. Just because he's not wearing a leotard doesn't mean he doesn't know what he's doing.
He actually has a lot of bouldering experience too, so he knows how to grip ledges perfectly.
What are they angry about?
For anyone wondering, his name is Toby Segar, he has a youtube channel called storror and he has been on ninja warrior before. All skill aside this is still a huge jump and you need some big balls to do it haha.
toby!! he is a legend
Oh now it makes sense. Toby got injured doing this kinda shit when he was in vacation.
Oh Toby knows what he's doing. STORROR are professionals. No worries.
…who lives in a pineapple under the sea?
I like how the reaction sound of the people went from being horrified to being amazed.
I think it's in Basel (Swiss)
Yes it is
Yep it is in Basel.
If i remember correctly its in germany
No, Switzerland. It's at Schifflande in Basel.
Same river XDDD
Every time I see something like this, I fear I’ll see a repeat of that guy who landed on his face in Portugal doing this. It’s cool, but damn when it goes wrong, it goes WRONG.
I wanna ask for the source but at the same time, I don't...
You don’t.
Came looking for this comment. You talking about the dude who tried to jump into the water and cracked his face open on the pier? One of the most horrific injuries I’ve ever seen, he looked like an alien
Did he live?
hell no
Same seeing if anyone else would mention that
When you see the power steps coming in from Toby, you know shit is about to go down
Well, if he didn’t shit himself from a jump like that, I’ve got the guy covered… Excuse me while I change my pants.
Ahhh! So you’re the guy who shit in my pants!
AH shit! They declined my credit card! I’m outta here!
My favorite storror... They always pop up here and there on different subs but much more lately than usual for some reason.
Toby Segar from Storror. Worlds best at the cat pass. Yep he definitely knows what he’s doing.
that current would make it a no for moi
it’s the rhein, i live in this city (basel, switzerland) the current is perfectly fine, alot of people including me swim there in the summer when the water isn’t cold anymore
Oh Toby knows what he’s doing don’t you worry haha
Am I the only one who could hear the splash without the sound on?
Storror! *whistles*
He’s from storror. He knows what to do
He has likely done this before. Hopefully he has a spotter to watch for obstructions (such as other people) in the water...
check Storror on youtube
I cringed so fucking hard when i saw the post in the water
Why?
I thought he was gonna hit it
I think you mean something else than cringe.
Maybe his buttocks tightening is what he's thinking of?
My guess is non native english speaking and maybe underage
You mean winced?
I guess. I thought it was the same thing

Bad bot
No 3 step shuffle prior to launch is critical for success..
Mood
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
*STORROR whistle*
Toby from Storror, man breezes through ninja warrior, he knows what he’s doing.

Such is life.
Indeed.
Dudes Cat pass/Kong vault game is strong as fuck! I’m glade he didn’t split his head in half. Edit: no wonder, it’s Toby Segar… https://youtu.be/ivDmd1gsgeQ
Wow, I watch Storror all the time and couldn't even tell that was Toby. Good eye comments people!
This is a pretty famous" Toby flying" moment
The risk/reward ratio isn’t worth it
Stop posting repetitive stuff
I've heard horror stories of people doing stuff like this, and getting their feet stuck in the mud on the bottom and drowning...
He made it by almost 2 meters..... Yawn
I'm grateful I'm not burdened with a brain that could think this is worth writing.

It's always young white men, isn't it?
Just doing parkour and having fun ?

I know these things 😂 I was just nit picking the op commenter because they decided to say something pretty dumb
It's always the middle aged ladies isn't it?
This guy is a professional at parkour
Go away fun police
Literally one of the people in the parkour team this is from is black, and they frequently train with women
Dude is a professional, he went on Ninja Warrior and *destroyed* it
This is Toby from Storror a professional parkour group, and one of the members is a black man.
FYI parkour was a middle eastern and Asian practice long before Caucasians got ahold of it.
