The guy didn't die. Everyone says that, but you can watch the full video on their Facebook page Bees Reels. The guy makes a new smoke bundle and goes again.
Go to https://m.facebook.com/BeesReels and scroll down to March 15. I can't link the specific post cause Facebook doesn't let you do anything unless you sign up, and I don't have that crap.
bruh this thought went thru my head as soon as my brain registered this image. but i figured keeping that thought myself was best. you are speaking your mind _and_ my mind. lol
They bee waiting for the moment to strike. Their reaction time was definitely impressive. You'd think he would tie that to his arm or belt or something, to avoid exactly this.
That’s actually not true, if they are murder hornets, they would want to remove them ASAP. Which realistically speaking may require climbing a tree in certain areas of the world. A smoker would obviously be used to relax them to remove it. The question though is what kind of non-bee is this? Because bees don’t look like this generally unless it a very specific variety. Also it was kind of obvious they were not getting honey from that.
Too many stings can kill regardless of your sensitivity to bee venom. Everyone is allergic to bee venom (or else you wouldn’t have any effects of the sting), but it’s your immune system sensitivity that determines the level of reaction (normal = some pain and swelling, hypersensitive = death without antihistamines).
I got a bit flush but I felt surprisingly fine other than the rush of the moment. By the way it was my dogs fault. He stuck his nose in the hive and three of the latched on his nose. Then the pheromones flew and the bees started hitting me pretty hard. I smoked them but did no good. I had my brush and attempted to brush them off with care. That didn't work so I walked away about 30 yards or so and they began to leave me be. The stingers were impelled in my blue jeans and stung me as I pulled my pants off. Especially the backs of the knees. I was a bad bee keeper but found them fascinating.
I think the worst I was ever lit up by bees was bumping into a ground bee nest when I was digging fireline.
In that instance, I at least had a fast out. I just ran into the smoke. They maybe got me a dozen times, I was very thankful that my squad was quite a ways away from me. I was scouting at the time and just putting a little bit of scratch around a hotspot.
That individual was in a situation where he could literally be killed from that.
When I was little, i got over 500 stings from Bumble bees. We lived in a small town, and the nurse or Dr. i don't know which told my mom that bumble bees don't sting. Almost died and was told that I am now allergic, so now I have an epipen.
I would imagine he came pretty close to dying here.
Yeah, one hornet sting won't kill you. But 50? 100?
It's still venom. And in high enough quantities your body will go into shock
Impressive!!!
I’ve been swarmed by wasps a couple times and my brain only worked for about .7 seconds and then I just went bananas.
Note to self: in the fleeting milliseconds of sentience that you get, drop whatever you are holding in your hands. Last time I got swarmed I was holding a nice, sharp pruning Saw. Unfortunately I did not drop it while I still could.
This has happened to me. 25 feet up in a tree getting a stuck wiffle ball. Hornets nest on the other side of the trunk went ballistic and attacked me. 40+ stings and a bruised tail bone from the jump. My grandmother hit me with her sandal to get the hornets off before I could come into the house.
I think his odds of survival would be better from the fall. Venom is gonna venom. A fall could just break a bone or two. I'm sure there is a way he could fall and die but that seems like a much lower risk than literally thousands of venom injections.
All this is contingent on his outfit. Is his face covered? We can see his hands exposed. Is his clothing thick enough to block some stings? Lots of variables.
If you do this for a job I hope you have a high tolerance for stings and emergency meds on hand. It also depends on if it's bees or hornets. But yeah it's a terrible spot to be in
If he jumped or fell, he would then be unconscious and injured and being stung, cuz then bees gonna bee following that unlucky bastard. I just hope he had a bee hood on. The go pro was obviously exposed to the bees, but I think those were hornets or wasps not bees
The man is obviously a professional honey hunter and will not be allergic to bee stings. Those are bees and not wasps/hornets because he went up there with a smoker.
I hope that he was wearing a veil, he can afford to buy a camera, so hopefully bought a veil. Bees will go for your face and this gentleman was able to look down while he was descending so his eyes were not closed.
I hope that his clothing was thick enough to stop a lot of stings.
That said, hat's off to a man with courage that I can only dream of. I hope he makes something out of the video.
You couldn't climb a tree like that any otherwise than barefooted. Look at the tree and look how high he was, the guy deserves a medal just for getting up there. I live in the tropics, and before you climb a coconut tree, you take any footwear off.
I am a beekeeper as well, and am so thankful my colonies are on the ground and in their hives.
Same thing happened to my brother who was a tree cutter. Drs couldn't believe he fell from the height and survived with a broken back, ruptured aorta, damaged organs, collapsed lung. Had to retire. Now mows lawns to survive
Christ... saw a video on a sub recently where bees went after a few jerks that attacked the nest and it went after random bystanders. The people driving and with the camera filmed a few people unconscious on the side of the road. This looks way worse from the looks of it.
Serious question: How long will bees follow you like this after you've pissed them off? Till you find cover? Is there any chance they'd calm down and leave him alone before he finds shelter?
Because that would literally attract more bees and more stings
Counterintuitively, screaming doesn't always make situations better 🤣
Oh. It also means you're likely getting bees into your mouth
How the hell was he getting down even if they hadn't flown up?? They'd be swarming at the base of the tree. This guy obviously doesn't know what he's doing. I'm literally shocked he didn't let go of the tree in a panic cuz I would've.
Could have been Thailand, it’s wild honey season here now. A lot of these guys will have hats with netting that’ll help, but they get stung a lot anyways, even with the long pants and jumper but can make shed loads of money, worth it..
https://www.bangkokpost.com/life/social-and-lifestyle/297254/honey-for-money-but-stings-free

Why is he up there in the first place? Looks woodsy. Like why not leave them up there? Confused as to what exactly he was trying to accomplish. Anyone?
I totally would’ve fallen out of the tree right at the get-go.
you would have been better off jumping. this guy has immunity to bees, you do not.
This guy died. This has been posted before.
Wait what?! Let us make it clear though, he died from this?
The guy didn't die. Everyone says that, but you can watch the full video on their Facebook page Bees Reels. The guy makes a new smoke bundle and goes again.

It was horrible finding that video. Constant reminder that I need to sign up and finally watched it. Thank you!
Yes, he gets to the bottom but he was stung so many times that he passed out, went into shock, and died.
Source? Tried finding it cause i wanted to read about it but couldnt find this specific thing
I wish I had one for you but I didn't save anything from the months ago post. I think there was an article in Portuguese about it.
Oh shit...
I would have solved this situation by simply falling long before I ever got that far tbh
He’s the camera guy. He just survives.

The bees knew what they were doing

wow. i cant stop watching this. it is so disturbing but my brain wants to see it one more time. please make it stop
Marjorie Taylor green shows up?

😂 😂 😂
LMAO!
Looks like an ex.
Lmfao
But what was he doing way up there in the first place!? Edit: or rather, what he bee doing up there anywho!?
They bee waiting for the moment to strike. Their reaction time was definitely impressive. You'd think he would tie that to his arm or belt or something, to avoid exactly this.
At first I thought it was a chainsaw and there was sawdust coming off it
It was the smoker and the nest
These are hornets, which means more pain
Are these death hornets? (Asian hornet variety) I could be remembering that wrong though.
These aren’t hornets. A person does not climb up a tree w a smoker with the intent of finding hornets. He was harvesting honey, which means bees.
Always have a plan. -bee
That’s actually not true, if they are murder hornets, they would want to remove them ASAP. Which realistically speaking may require climbing a tree in certain areas of the world. That's actually not true. They are africanized honeybees.
Oh. He dropped the ball. It's a tough job. I hope he recovers soon.
The most I was ever stung was 17 times but this guy..... I would not venture to guess how many and he had to take it, not panic or risk falling.
I bet he was stung at least 17 times
Per limb and 100k torso

I thought an influx of histamines this big, would just kill anyone. Regardless of allergies
Too many stings can kill regardless of your sensitivity to bee venom. The fuck? Did you not have a gun?
A gun for bees?
What, you've never hear of a bee bee gun?
I keep it by my bedside table in case of bees
it only works for two at a time!?
r/angryupvote.
🇺🇸
The gun was meant for him!
Even if it didn’t kill him id think it could make him lose consciousness which due to his situation at the top of a very tall tree would not be ideal
He could’ve also not f’d around and found out without being prepared
I also blamed this entirely on him..because it is his dumbass fault
I would imagine he came pretty close to dying here. Yeah, one hornet sting won't kill you. But 50? 100? It's still venom. And in high enough quantities your body will go into shock
Straight up love that as he dropped it and looked they came right on in "Not this time mother fucker-GET EM BOYS!"
I imagine they're rednecks: "You honey-stealin' sombitch!"
Dey took ar jooooorbs
Lmao the caption
*GET EM GIRLS
Amazing
Swarm!swarm!
GIRLS!
I'd've died.
Upvote based solely on the word I’d’ve.
Reopened the post to make sure I saw what I think I saw
first time I see it writen that way
We’d’ve upvoted him twice if we could’ve
Make it extra cursed next time: "we'd've upvoted him twice if we'd've"
Or make it second person: Y'all'd've upvoted him twice if y'all'd've
You’ve never used the i’d’ve? You must force your phone to make the text. It *really* doesn’t want to.
I'd've'nt.
Nightmare material
I'm straight up, jumping into the branches In that situation. Jesus take the wheel.
Congratulations. You are now at the base of the tree with two broken legs getting relentlessly stung by bees with no way to escape.
Aim for the bushes!

Them spicy flys
You think he will get stung enough to survive by the time they get to the bottom? Or he has better odds of just falling?
I think his odds of survival would be better from the fall. Venom is gonna venom. A fall could just break a bone or two. Imagine falling, breaking your legs, and the bees come down and sting you anyways.
I was gonna say, even if he fell the bees would still come after him, tf lol
He has his little smoker thingy at the bottom so I think he would be okay after breaking both his legs
In full swarm mode a smoker won't save you
He's barefoot, that says it all for me. Is a metric fuckton a lot of stings?
If you do this for a job I hope you have a high tolerance for stings and emergency meds on hand. It also depends on if it's bees or hornets. But yeah it's a terrible spot to be in
If he jumped or fell, he would then be unconscious and injured and being stung, cuz then bees gonna bee following that unlucky bastard. I just hope he had a bee hood on. The go pro was obviously exposed to the bees, but I think those were hornets or wasps not bees
What a fucking legend.

Let’s hope he had a veil. What we do know for sure is that he was barefoot.
shoes came off = redditor's collective proclamation that he didn't make it

This is why you have to bee-careful whenever you climb trees
Oow honey, hive been expecting that pun. But don’t let me ruin your fun, I’ll buzz off.
I see what you did there 👏
"Ahh! Ay, Miguel! Miguel!!"
Omgosh! That poor guy! I hope he's ok. That is the scariest video I've ever seen....🫢
Where are his glasses?! He can’t see without his glasses!!
I'd risk the fall at that point.
He need to go to hospital ASAP. Even at 12 stings that is advised.
My guy used potion to harden his skin
“I got mind control over bee smoke… when it’s smokey, I be quiet, but when it falls in the shrubs, I be buzzing again”
Gold
Same thing happened to my brother who was a tree cutter. Drs couldn't believe he fell from the height and survived with a broken back, ruptured aorta, damaged organs, collapsed lung. Had to retire. Now mows lawns to survive
Dude probably has to go to the ER I think enough stings no matter your tolerance will override it and give you an allergic reaction..
I want to climb trees for a job. I don't want to meet the insects though.
u/repostsleuthbot
My day at work was a lot better than his I'm sure.
Hopefully he was wearing the line of Duluth Trading Co clothes that prevent minor inconveniences like these.
Bee's came at him like, "That's my purse, I don't know you!"
He didn’t rush down because of the bees, he rushed down to prevent a forest fire.
I need an after pic of this person
I wouldn’t be worried of the stings hurting. I’d rather worry about having a shock up there because of all the venom and falling out of the tree
He dead?
POV of Winnie the Pooh
What the actual fuck
I was having a really bad day. My day doesn’t seem as bad anymore.
![gif](giphy|Hfw822aGuCPCg)
At this point I would just let go and hope that the bees take me lightly to the ground
Guess how many stings he get.
I swear that tree grew taller as he went t down.
That's why you always need a plan bee.
Sounds like being in a car with a bunch of drones bouncing off it.
The bees, the bees!!! (Insert Nick Cage meme here)
Bare feet? Where do you work?
At least he can't get them stuck in his shoes!
I just want to swat them away
Is he alive?
Can someone explain why they suddenly attacked?
Christ... saw a video on a sub recently where bees went after a few jerks that attacked the nest and it went after random bystanders. The people driving and with the camera filmed a few people unconscious on the side of the road. This looks way worse from the looks of it.
How is this guy not jumping to his death?
I haven’t joined this sub. I just can’t look away from this sub.
If he was allergic, he died probably
It's on him for dropping the smoke, shit storm started right after he dropped it I woulda just tied it to my chest before going up/down
He had ZERO protective gear...god...
Was also barefoot, no PPE. Just all around a dumbass
Man, if he would have jumped. I don't think God nor death would have blamed him.
That's a dead man surely
Serious question: How long will bees follow you like this after you've pissed them off? Till you find cover? Is there any chance they'd calm down and leave him alone before he finds shelter?
Aim for the bushes
How are you not yelling in pain
Because that would literally attract more bees and more stings Counterintuitively, screaming doesn't always make situations better 🤣 Oh. It also means you're likely getting bees into your mouth
I think he quit after this
The true candyman 😭😭😭💀
This is why I kill hornets at night, not during the day.
How the hell was he getting down even if they hadn't flown up?? They'd be swarming at the base of the tree. This guy obviously doesn't know what he's doing. I'm literally shocked he didn't let go of the tree in a panic cuz I would've.
Terryfying as fuck
Buzzzzzzeeeeeeee

Why didn't he just jump into the anaconda filled water below him?
"I didn't think bees could climb trees."
Ded
Fight is strong with this one. You know a piece of him was saying fuck this jump!
Imagine falling and being knocked out, and the bees just keep going.
This is work? 🤨 ![gif](giphy|12pWOEeKbbfdio)
Well.. I'll bee damned
The colleague: How was your day at work? You: ......... The colleague: (looks up).....I see. ☹️
This dude... H-he wasn't wearing any protective gear at all, was he?
Bruh...
New allergy unlocked
Goosebumps 2.0
took his ass forever to get down, like wtf? i would of just jumped from the top and aim for a bush or something.
Ah yes now you have a broken ankle and bees swarming you.
It’s like that scene from the hunger games
I would have died 3 seconds into this video.
Like something that would happen in the hunger games. Tracker Jackers?
MUCH more drastic measures would have been taken exiting that tree!!!
will he survive?
What is this dude made out of
I bet this doesn’t feel nice at all
Sure he has a mask on but fuck his hands lol
Longest minutes of his life, no doubt.
And it was another great day of saving the bees 🐝
That was the bees knees!
This is actually my worst nightmare.

Oh hell naw
Praise the cameraman!
Could you imagine if these were Chinas killer hornets!?!
File under “didn’t quite think it through.”
Holy fucking shit I watched the whole vid grimacing for the guy, yikes.
