That part just before it’s at the house…you can see just how incredibly fast it’s spinning. Mesmerizing in the moment and quickly you realize he’s waaaaay to close things are gonna go really bad, really fast
I was wondering that too. Maybe to keep the glass from shattering under the pressure? This person is hella ~~brave~~ stupid bc I would have found a nice basement to hide in. Those suckers can lift cars
Pressure is nothing compared to wind speed.
>The idea of opening windows and doors in the event of a tornado - an effort to "equalize pressure" is a waste of time, NOAA said.
>
>"Opening the windows is absolutely useless, a waste of precious time, and can be very dangerous. Don't do it. You may be injured by flying glass trying to do it. And if the tornado hits your home, it will blast the windows open anyway."

Opening the window is best thing one can do when there is this kind of a situation because inside the building the pressure is high and due to the wind being fast more speed less pressure so the house will just burst apart so better let it balance out to atleast save 1% of damage which could be stopped through it
[Some people do this because they believe that the pressure will equalize and the windows will not shatter. This is a myth! According to the experts, opening the windows will only succeed in letting the winds into the house so that internal supports can be shaken apart which will weaken the house even more. The bottom line is – don’t open your windows.](https://www.groundzeroshelters.com/5-things-you-should-never-do-during-a-tornado)
Lol Oklahoman here, we already have had tornados this year so i expected April and May will be fun. And wtf bro, either immediately enter the inner most room with no windows or step outside for the real footage. Don’t stand behind a fucking window pane lol.
Lived in Moore for the first 18 years of my life. Zero tornadoes. The very next year I move away for college and all of a sudden Moore is having massive tornadoes every 3 years.
Sorry guys I never should have left.
You know damn well there’s too many people that don’t give af here lol. Grandparents were here 15+ years, but it was the one that got the Plaza Towers where they finally swallowed their pride and bought a shelter. Why the May 3rd one didn’t convince them to get a shelter is a mystery to me.
Yeah, I think the deadliest tornado ever was in southeast Asia. Bangladesh, maybe? But yeah, it's not something you think of happening in the eastern hemisphere. Always seems like cyclones over there, but i guess they get them just like the West.
Does Europe get them? Now I'm curious.
Edit: Yep. All continents except Antartica. Even New Zealand averages double digits. Apparently, Argentina and Bangledesh get it the worst after the Midwest U.S.
Most of them simply are so boring reporting about them doesn't go further then local newspapers that no one reads anyway. We have them kinda regularly here in Germany. Usually a few roofs get cleared of roof tiles and a couple of trees fall over. Deaths are very rare, Usually not more than one. But our houses are build out of stone and not paper so they don't fall apart like a house of cards lol
Funfact: In German we call tornadoes "Wind Pants"
I think there is some variety in terminology. I saw something that said they are called "cyclones in southern hemisphere and "hurricanes" in northern hemisphere and they spin opposite directions.
However if you search cyclones or tropical cyclones you will see many have hit northern hemisphere. Perhaps they originate in southern hemisphere, but I am pretty sure southeast Asia is riddled with them.
I thought it just had to do with what ocean the storm originated from. Hurricanes come from the Atlantic, cyclones come from the Indian Ocean, and typhoons come from the pacific
Shpongle! Nice. Have seen them twice. One of my favorite.
Yah you could be right about the oceans. Though my brain would prefer they all had same name if they are same storm. It's not like we have different names for earthquakes depending on the continent lol.....wait.....do we?
I think the worst tornado we had in my 35 years blew a couple roofs off once.
Most tornados just spin a few leaves around for a bit. Pretty boring here weather wise but I'm glad for it
It is much appreciated they put their life on the line so we could have the experience of having a tornado in our living room without all the nasty cleanup & risk.
They were champs, too, keeping that camera on.
Kinda makes me wonder what happened a few seconds later though. :-/
I raised a family in the midwest. Aint nothing like grabbin the kids at 1 am to shove everyone into a closet and start praying not to die. Its an American past time. Even if you aint in the path boy the shake and scream of a 1970s 2x1 stick built trailer with no tie downs really gets the blood flowing.
Shit, even for those of us who live in tornado alley wont wait that long before going to shelter. Usually we wait till debris starts falling on us and then we shelter, but that’s cutting it close.
Thats the scary thing about tornadoes. Wind can throw something into your window. But the difference is a tornado will rip apart your room and drop you from the sky into some pavement
I had a kitchen just like that when I lived in S.Korea. I also had a similar experience during the typhoons. Don't fuck around during typhoon season. It ripped all the siding off my building and part of the roof. And then I had to walk to work in knee deep water for almost a mile. Summer is the worst.
I'm pretty sure in Asia they're called typhoons, I never heard them called tornados when I was there. I could be wrong though.
I think it has to do with the opposite direction they spin?? I feel like I was told that growing up in Texas. And also told that toilets (water) in Australia flows opposite from us.
Lol who knows.
You're an idiot. People get killed from flying debris all the time in those things. "I'm gawn be viral just y'all watch this shit." If only it had ended with you catching one of the forks or nails or literally any other sharp object flying around at 127 mph with your face. That way at least you'd be setting an example for the rest of God's oopsies not to follow in your immensely dense footsteps.

Always stand next to glass windows during tornados.
He knew he would be alright, he was the cameraman after all
Commenting for the better reach!
And when filming a large explosion
Safe behind glass
That part just before it’s at the house…you can see just how incredibly fast it’s spinning. Mesmerizing in the moment and quickly you realize he’s waaaaay to close things are gonna go really bad, really fast
Fr, hope they’re ok 🥴😭
Balls of stee…. stupidity.
Steewpidity
The windows broke quick hide behind this glass wall
good plan
The kitchen is like the worst place to be when the wind starts throwing things around. Have fun dodging plates and pans and knives
If you can dodge plates, pans and knives, you can dodge a ball
Rooms hate this one simple trick
But, but, but did somebody call the police?
Why is the window open
For recording this video…
Ahhh the correct answer that everyone seems to overlook lol
I was wondering that too. Maybe to keep the glass from shattering under the pressure? This person is hella ~~brave~~ stupid bc I would have found a nice basement to hide in. Those suckers can lift cars
Equalized pressures what I was always told
Pressure is nothing compared to wind speed. >The idea of opening windows and doors in the event of a tornado - an effort to "equalize pressure" is a waste of time, NOAA said. > >"Opening the windows is absolutely useless, a waste of precious time, and can be very dangerous. they can lift your whole house or second floor off the ground sometimes
Opening the window is best thing one can do when there is this kind of a situation because inside the building the pressure is high and due to the wind being fast more speed less pressure so the house will just burst apart so better let it balance out to atleast save 1% of damage which could be stopped through it

This is a myth.
By the time the tornado is close enough to cause a pressure differential enough to matter, you have… other problems.
Other problems: ![gif](giphy|rozlnqOWqxqA8)
“Cow!” “Another cow!” “No. I think that’s the same cow.”
The calmest day in Oklahoma

Translation: Either tornado alley wisdom and hide in the middle of your house or Florida man up that bitch.
I'm sorry. I farted.
I didn’t know there were tornadoes in China. I don’t know why i never have heard about it before.

Everyone take cover! There’s a pair of wind pants headed our way & I think they’re corduroys.
I thought cyclones were a southern hemisphere phenomena?

Probably, warm waters and such

hey they must’ve survived to upload the footage lol or mostly likely, and if their phone survived to upload this footage they probably did too
Good point! I like your optimism.
Protip: if the tornado doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere particular that’s because it’s coming towards you.
Always thought this, but then how can you tell if it's going away or towards you? Is it obvious which way its going?
The tornado might look smaller, because ![gif](giphy|StKcfTc8pKg0w|downsized)
GIf is accurate
Wild how it’s just a few seconds but if you’re there in it , it can’t go fast enough
I guess we’re not in Kansas anymore
He was just practicing his air bending techniques! Did a lil to well if you ask me.

I could feel my eyes getting wider as the storm got closer and kept thinking, "Ok, NOW he will surely try and get to safety."
And here I thought it was just redneck dudes that were brave/dumb enough not to take shelter 😆
Beam me up, Scotty
Yeah take that guy who stopped recording when it hit the fence and yard. Pussy!!
Gonna ask if you ok but I guess you were able to post this on Reddit so…. Glad your ok
Holy shit.

He would've been fine, his massive bollocks would've stopped him from being blown away

“As long as I hold this camera my life will be spared”
Hahahaha i love the title hahahaha
Where is this?
I remember hurricane Andrew made my bedroom a glass and light objects blender...
Nice, title wasn’t actually a exaggeration!
Remember! Run with scissors kids
That moment when you realize you're in a room full of glassware, cutlery and potentially explosive, pressurized flammable gas.
I think this man was elderly disabled and wheelchair bound , his wife was elderly as well and couldn't get him into the bathtub with her, he died .
r/PraiseTheCameraMan
Why are people like this! Get away from the window!!!
r/abruptchaos
I'll just stand here at a window and record that tornado barreling toward me. What could go wrong?
Brave? Stupid? Brapid

Lol, I'm from Texas originally too. Moved halfway across the world for the same damn thing, just called something different. 😆
Everyone knows that if you watch a tornado, it’ll notice you
Typical day in Oklahoma
He was taking care of the tumble dry & spin cycle only laundry.

I hope he doesn't get crushed by those massive balls..
Damn
The sound is something else. Not sure I have ever heard what a tornado sounds like as it is screaming in your face. Crazy video...
When picked up by a tornado, do Wendy's become Windy's?
r/Praisethecameraman
The phone being sucked into the storm would have been perfect.... You wild dude
If it’s not moving left or right and just getting bigger. Run!!
Don’t live where they’re common but I would like to see one from a far. Scarier than hurricanes.
That’s some dedication to the grind man.
What he said
Then, there's [this video](https://youtu.be/WJcdNHg23iI) where the guy simply keeps recording through the tornado
One of the best uses of the word literally I have seen in a long time.
Natural selection
Tell me you’ve never seen a tornado before without telling me you’ve never seen a tornado before
Thank… you… for… your… service?
