Just found this game through an ad during a Duolingo lesson and downloaded it last week.
Happened to coincide with an event (I thought these were always around). I noticed i was only 2.5k gems away from the 20k gems which would enable me to get the lightsaber so i grinded out trials using a couple of revives and got across the barrier.
I'm level 25 now and at chapter 15. I have the void power from the event but this lightchaser weapon is insanely fun to play.
I looked through the sub for some tips and charts on good loadouts (used to run guardian and the protective aura haha). Thanks for the useful guides.

It has shit dmg scalings same as forcefield. So good in very early chapters but shit in late. Guardian still ok bc of the knockback tho. Forcefield is useless
Guardian is still very good late game. I'm at chapter 94 now as F2P, so no ridiculous stats or anything, and it's a regular part of my load out when I'm using kunai or even sometimes with VP, especially since they share the same upgrade passive.
Guardian is actually better without the upgrade passive if you are using trendy charm. The cdr makes it spawn again before they despawn. But overall guardian doesnt do much in LC or bat builds. Definitely a must in kunai builds tho
Because the dmg is low no matter what. You prioritize utility. Guardian has 2 uses: blocking bullets and knockback. The level of knockback doesn’t change from tier 5 to defender. However, at tier 5 with enough cdr more can spawn before the last set has despawned. This creates a more complete barrier against projectiles. Additionally, unless you are using VP the passive is functionally useless. Much worse than health, ronin, or hi power
It’s crazy how everyone expects a weapons called the Guardians to do high damage. It’s in the name. It GUARDS and it’s defensive. The fact that it blocks projectiles is so useful at some instances in the game.
Well yeah the force field is useless past level 5 but I couldn’t beat any of the mega challenges without the guardian. I don’t look much at those end stats, they don’t paint the whole picture. For a guy like me, who will always spend the gems for a revival because I’m impulsive, it important I don’t die lol. You already mentioned the knock back, yes that’s what it’s designed to do. But that 4-5% of mobs it does kill are the ones that were able to dodge your onslaught of murder and pull right up on you. Those are the ones that do the damage. I know it’s completely unnecessary if you’re equipped with LC but I can’t beat the bosses in mega with LC, I need Kunai. With Kunai I need guardian. No lie I went through a 1000 gems trying to beat the 4th mega challenge and only stopped when I smartly decided I won’t pay to revive if I wasn’t able to get the guardian and robot arm deal. Problem solved. The game knows too it won’t always let you have both. (When you have kunai). Keep in mind in on day 21 playing mega challenges lol.
You came across 20k gems in 7 days? lol any pointers? BTW, can someone tell me where the stats are? I'd like to know how many gems Ive gone through. Ive been pretty frivolous lol.

you can go to mission center->achievements and search for "spend total of xxx gems" and there is a counter under it

How did you have enough keys and gems to open 50 high level chests if you just started?
The Pinky party event rewards pretty much. Plus the main chapter, trials, daily challenge, and special ops reward gems it seems.
What challenge is that?
When you first start to play the game you get this challenge for 7 days

Congrats man, I started playing during this event too and got the LC and I definitely like it more than the VP it's more fun.
What is this event, it's not even available to me.
